Happy Monday, everybody! We had a busy little weekend over here, and I definitely wasn’t ready for Monday to roll around. We still didn’t go anywhere, but we had a lot that we had to get done at home. First of all, on Friday we had a service appointment for our upstairs air conditioner. We had started noticing on Wednesday that it didn’t seem to be cooling like it should, and sure enough, some huge part has to be replaced. Too bad that can’t happen until later this week. #theirscheduleisbookedsolid #awesome
In other news, Carter got a desk and computer (in preparation for middle school), so the boys spent a good long while putting the desk together and getting the computer all set up. Carter also learned to mow the yard this weekend and will now be helping out with this weekly chore.
On Saturday morning, Chris and I took TONS of pictures for my friend Cassie’s new summer collection launch! Y’all, I am SO EXCITED about the pieces. Think lots of fun, colorful, and beautiful prints and lots of gorgeous dresses. The collection has all sorts of great pieces (skirts, shorts, tees, and blouses), but I fell IN LOVE with some of the dresses. I’m going to have a 25% OFF code for everything, and the post will go live Thursday morning, so make sure you don’t miss that! Chris went to a local lake with a friend on Saturday and returned early Sunday morning. On Sunday we did online church, we worked all Sunday afternoon on blog stuff, and Sunday evening we went fishing at a local pond.
I’m sad the weekend is over, but I’m SUPER EXCITED about this week’s posts, staring with today’s!
Today I have 5 great Summer outfits for you!
I’m all about bright and colorful tops right now, and this one fits the bill!
It’s a Free People top, which are often hit or miss on me, but this one was a hit!
The reviews are mixed (people seem to either love it or hate it, which I feel is often the case with Free People items), but I happen to love it. I like the color combination, I like the shape, and I love the swingy fit. It’s cute worn out, but it’s also great with a half tuck. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
And for those of y’all that missed this wrap bracelet the first go round, it’s BACK IN STOCK! Mine is the “ocean jasper silver” option, but there are several combinations to choose from.
I wanted to show it with a half tuck with jeans as well.
These statement earrings have become some of my most worn earrings. They are so lightweight for such a large earring, and I love the simplicity. They would pair well with a little black dress, but they also look great dressed way down with denim shorts and a tee.
PERFECT STRIPED MAXI
Ladies. I’ve got a perfect maxi for y’all.
First of all, it’s ONLY $26. And it comes in tons of colors and has excellent reviews.
I love that it’s not clingy, but it’s also not boxy at all. It drapes really nicely and is super flattering. The material is soft and light, and it feels great on the skin. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
And get this. IT DOESN’T WRINKLE. I pulled it right out of the package and it looked great. This would be a great little travel dress.
You’ve seen this jacket on the blog for 6 years, and I obviously still wear it and still love it. Later in today’s post you’ll see a great denim jacket option I found on Amazon! (Look for the Amazon option in the outfit with the blush skirt.)
I’m a sucker for a straw tote. I love the shape and overall style of this one, and I’m totally swooning over the pom poms and the tassel. If you prefer a more simple tote, you can get a plain one on the same link as well. It has great reader reviews and is a total steal at $27.
And the sunglasses? They are AWESOME. And under $13. FOR REAL.
This blouse is really pretty, right?
I mean, RIGHT?
I really need you to say that it is like the prettiest blouse that you’ve ever seen.
I mean I LOVE IT SO MUCH, but I need y’all to agree that it’s realllllllllllllllllllly pretty.
So here’s the story.
A couple of weeks ago I went in to Anthropologie to return a dress (right when the stores opened back up), and I ended up trying on a handful of items.
I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS BLOUSE.
I thought it was $88 (and on sale), but I was wrong on both counts. #BIGoops
When I got up to the counter, I returned a dress, and I got this blouse. To be honest, I wasn’t really paying attention to my refund and the fact that I wasn’t getting very much money back. I checked out and headed out on my merry way.
The next morning I had a doctor’s appointment, and I was excited to wear my new top. I went to take off the tag, and that’s when I saw how much it cost. It was 20% off when I got it (and remember I was returning a dress at the same time), but this blouse is $148.
I think this is the by far the most I’ve ever spent on a top.
However, I went ahead and ripped the tag off and wore it. And I’ve worn it two times since then. BECAUSE I ADORE IT. I love the colors, I love the patterns, I love ruffles, and I love the fit. I hesitated to even show it because I fully realize that paying this much for a top is borderline crazy, but I know I’m going to wear the heck out of it. So I kept it. Please don’t judge me. #orleaveahatefulcomment Hahaha! For size reference, I’m wearing a small (and it’s still oversized).
These are the $27 jeans I bought last month, and I really wish they were still well stocked. I would definitely suggest sizing down if they still have your size. I’m in a 26.
BE KIND TEE
Since we just talked about a crazy expensive top, I thought it was time to talk about a cute little tee that’s under $20.
I love a graphic tee in the summer, and you can’t get any better than the “BE KIND” message. It’s very soft, and I’m wearing a medium. I also grabbed it in this cream color because I loved the neon graphics!
I’m wearing these flip flops above, but wanted to give you a close up look.
Totally flexible (like Havianas), DARLING, and super comfortable! If you’re a half size, size up!
BLUSH SKIRT AND DENIM JACKET
You saw this outfit in overhead outfit pics on Friday’s post, and there was lots of conversation around it. I knew I needed to show it like this too so y’all could get a good look at it. I threw it back on, grabbed Chris, and we headed out the front door to grab some pics!
I’m in love with the blush skirt. The material is similar to that of a light sweater, so I was unsure if I would be able to wear it during the Summer, but I totally will. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And in case you wanted to see the outfit without the raffia bag, here it is with my go to bag.
This light wash denim jacket is from Amazon. AND Y’ALL. It’s SOOOOOOOOO good. I got the medium wash during the fall and wore the heck out of it. I didn’t get this light wash because I already have the KUT jacket in a light wash that I love, but I kept receiving questions about this specific jacket, so I ordered it just to try it. Well, I’m keeping it.
I’m wearing a small and love the fit. It’s got a little bit of stretch to it, the collar does a good job of standing up on its own (if you want it to), and it’s not too long or too short. It’s a great little jacket and an awesome price point at just a little over $40.
That’s all for today y’all! I’m curious, what was your favorite outfit today? Sound off in the comments! And see you back here on Wednesday. I’m excited to share some precious pics of my two favorite guys.
