I know that lots of you grabbed this sweater last week.
Job well done, ladies.
And since many of you have the sweater now, I thought it would be helpful (and fun!) to show you several different ways to style it.
But first, a quick review for those that don’t have the sweater yet…
First and foremost, it is so incredibly soft. SERIOUSLY soft. And it’s a super relaxed fit (which I love). It has a bit of a bat wing design, but it’s still very flattering. I’m wearing the small here and it’s still quite roomy. It comes in 12 total colors.
I had a lot of people asking me about the fabric content last week since we couldn’t find it listed on the site. I didn’t know then, but I’ve since found an interior tag with the following info: 50% Viscose, 30% Nylon, 20% PBT. If I had to guess, I would have guessed clouds and unicorn wings.
Also, I updated the post last week after receiving questions about laundering. Here’s my official statement: I have never and will never hand washed this sweater. To be clear, I’ll never hand wash anything. #aintnobodygottimeforthat I wash and dry it like normal, I just don’t throw it in with towels or anything. I’ll sometimes pop it in the dryer for 10 minutes or so, then gently tug on it to stretch it out a bit and then hang it to dry the rest of the way. However, other times I’ll dry it the full time.
OUTFIT #1
This is the outfit you saw last week. I styled the sweater with skinny jeans, heeled booties, and this fabulous clutch.
I loved this outfit so much it inspired me to style the other 4 outfits.

OUTFIT #2
For outfit #2, I just took outfit #1 and made it a bit more casual. Same jeans and jewelry, I just switched out the bag and traded out the heeled booties for more casual sneakers.

The sneakers are FABULOUS. The neutral and rust colors come together beautifully with the leopard pattern to make a really fun Fall sneaker. And not only are they super cute, they are also super comfy. I would recommend sizing down a 1/2.

OUTFIT #3
When I saw these plaid leggings at LOFT, I immediately thought of this sweater. I knew they would be a great way to dress the sweater up.

These plaid leggings aren’t as stretchy as typical leggings, but I still feel like they are quite comfortable. The waist is elastic, so you just pull them on like a regular pair of leggings, they just don’t have quite as much give. I really like the plaid pattern and think they are a great fun option to have in your closet. For size reference, I ended up going with the medium petite. I wanted a little more room in the waist, and I wanted some ankle to show between the bottom of my pants and the top of my booties.

OUTFIT #4
The sweater is a relaxed fit and long enough for leggings (as seen both above and below), but it’s also soft enough that you can still do a half tuck with it very easily. I happen to love it with a half tuck with my boot cut jeans.
The striped cross body bag is darling. It’s small, but big enough for my phone, some makeup essentials, and a card case with my license and credit cards.

I know so many of you already have and love these itty bitty boot cut jeans, so I definitely wanted to include them as a styling option with the sweater. For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4 in the jeans, but many size down in these.

Here’s another look at the outfit.

And a close up look at the jewelry. I love both of these new pieces! I just got them a couple of weeks ago and they’ve been on repeat.

OUTFIT #5
For the last outfit, I wanted to show the sweater super casually, so I paired it with my favorite Amazon leggings and a great tote I’ve had for years. You can use the code STMTSAVE10 for 10% OFF the bag. For those of you that haven’t seen it before, it’s a canvas bag and the axis pattern is just printed on it. For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the leggings.
sweater /Amazon hoop earrings / gold party bangles / axis tote / 7/8 leggings / neutral sneakers
These neutral sneakers look great with jeans, denim shorts, leggings, and all sorts of athleisure. Officially they are called “Clear Brown/Nude/White”, but let’s just stick with the perfect neutral. I really like that the accents lean a little gold, but they aren’t shiny or flashy AT ALL. They really are the perfect neutral.
And they’re incredibly light, super comfy, and true to size.
SERIOUSLY SO CUTE! $85 and worth EVERY DANG PENNY. It just might be the best $85 you spend on your closet this Fall.

After seeing this post, I’m wondering why I didn’t get that sweater last week!
DK says
Love this! I work and bought the Ann Taylor ivory cashmere sweater that you recently featured. It substitutes well in these outfit ideas and is suitable for my casual office environment.
Sheaffer says
That’s a great sweater! AND YES! Just sub it in!!!
DK says
You have great style! Would you mind reminding me what you said about sizing for the raw hem ankle jeans?
Sheaffer says
I’m in my regular size 4! Thank you, DK! xoxo
Jenna says
I bought the sweater when you first talked about it a couple of weeks ago. It arrived, and then I bought 2 more colors. You were right. I love it so much.
Sheaffer says
So happy to hear this, Jenna! I think that most people that have tried this sweater have ended up getting in at least 1 more color. Glad you love it too! xoxo
Sarah Benson says
Hi Sheaffer! I bought this sweater last year and it’s very “high/low” as in the pic on Amazon. Yours doesn’t look like it’s like it has that feature. I’d buy another one if the high/low wasn’t so prominent. Are any of the ones you bought like that or are they closer in hem length in the front/back? Thanks!!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Sarah! My rust and my cream are both hi/lo…..but I do agree that neither seem to be as dramatic as the ones on the site. Not sure if this helps or not?!? xoxo
Kim S. says
I think I’m the only person who didn’t like it. I got the gray and it was really high/low. Way too short in the front for me. I returned it and got the hoodie sweater you talked about last week in Instagram stories. I’m in love with that sweater!!
Sheaffer says
I’m in love with that sweater too, Kim!!!! Doesn’t it feel so expensive??? I want to scream and shout about it as well, but it’s not well stocked at this time. If there’s a restock, I’ll be making a huge deal about it too!!! xoxo
Shay Shull says
I’m still crushing on that clutch!!
Stephanie Drenka says
Me too! Those stripes!
Kelly says
How does this sweater hold up after laundering? I worry about that when I buy Amazon sweaters. I have already ordered the perfect neutral sneaker! :- )
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kelly! It’s held up great!!!! No issues at all! xoxo
Lisa says
Well, I ordered one it arrived and now two more are coming tomorrow. I am having a difficult time not putting another in my cart. I will soon have the rust, white and wine colors. The one I have looks much better in person than on the site. I also have the free people sweater that is very similar and I think that I prefer this one. Excellent find!
Sheaffer says
YAY! Thanks for the feedback, Lisa! I’m so glad you love it as much as I do! xoxo
Keesha says
I bought the sweater last week and mine seems much shorter. It is definitely great quality. I still love it and am looking forward to wearing it with straight leg jeans or my flares. I am 5′ 8″, but I thought it would be long enough to wear with leggings. Do you think the one I got was made differently or is it just because I’m taller?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Keesha! I’m thinking it’s just because of your height because I’m only 5’4″. Glad you are still excited to pair it with jeans! xoxo

I bought the sweater in XS, and there was a bit “too much bat wing” for me. I liked it enough i grabbed my sewing machine, took off a few inches on both side seams, and happily wore it the rest of the day!
