Happy Wednesday! It’s time for everybody to join up today with Shay and me and let us know WHAT’S UP this fine Wednesday!
MY NEW DENIM SHORTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!!!
I’ve been teasing these denim shorts for a couple of weeks now because I’ve been wearing them constantly, AND THEY’RE FINALLY AVAILABLE. I know y’all have been waiting (some of you not so patiently! ha!), but you can click HERE and scoop them up right now (they go live at 6:30 a.m. CST today). Make sure you use the code STMT10 for 10% OFF!
For those of you that aren’t familiar, these are the Risen denim shorts y’all! And they are FANTASTIC. If you love the jeans, you are going to love these shorts too. They are super stretchy and very comfy, and you can see that they are distressed with a frayed hem. If you have the Risen jeans already, get these shorts in the same size. Now, the majority of people size down in the jeans and the shorts. I don’t, BUT MOST PEOPLE DO. (My tummy is my problem area, so I prefer my regular size). For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 27. But again, most people size down because of the extreme stretch.
This top boasts colorful embroidery and is 100% cotton. If you don’t like a relaxed fit, you won’t like this top. I happen to LOVE a relaxed fit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium (but I think a small would be fine).
I threw this together last night because y’all have been so sweet about saying how much you love these outfit inspiration collages. I love them too, and I’m totally head over heels for this look. Super casual and super cute and colorful!
Now I’m going to show some other outfits with the shorts that I’ve already highlighted over the last couple of weeks, just in case I need to further prove to you how awesome they are. 🙂
This USA cropped tee features a ribbed neckline, dropped shoulders, raw hem, and a cropped silhouette. Now, I’ll say this, I have a non-existent torso. Because of this, although short on me, it’s not cropped. This is good news for me, because you’ll never see me in a cropped tee. If you’ve got a long torso, it will definitely be more cropped. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. Use the code STMT10.
And here’s a close up of the shorts. SO CUTE!
The striped top is better than just a regular tee (and it better be, because it’s $49). It’s like a fine gauge knit, and it is incredibly soft. The fit is super relaxed, and I just love it on. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. If between sizes, I would suggest sizing down.
This ruffle sleeve blouse is adorable. First of all, it’s a perfect red. It’s much more vibrant than in the pictures, and I love it. The fluttery sleeves are feminine and flirty, and the lace inset and tiny ruffle on the collar are just plain cute. This top also comes in navy and white! They navy and red would be great with white denim too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Check out the beaded star earrings. They are so festive and make every outfit so dang cute!
This eyelet sleeve top is a really pretty bright white, with fun ruffle and eyelet sleeves and an elastic square neck. The fit is generous and although I can wear it out, I prefer a half tuck. I’m wearing a small.
The red star earrings and bracelet stack are pretty much necessary for the 4th, and the navy eyelet top is summer perfection. It’s got eyelet, it’s got scallops, and it’s got summer vibes. It comes in white too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Look how cute the shorts are with a swimsuit. This swimsuit has fantastic reviews and is only $34.99 on Amazon!
WHAT WE ARE EATING
Y’all. Nothing exciting is happening over here in the dinner department.
However, I have two new Trader Joe’s finds from this week to share.
These Sugar Bomb tomatoes are incredible. So crunchy, so sweet, so delicious.
Have you ever had a plumcot? It’s a plum/apricot hybrid, and I love them! I would say they are much more plum than apricot, and quite tasty.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
I’m so excited about the 4th! We’re going to be with tons of friends at the ranch the weekend leading up to the 4th, and I cannot wait.
Y’all know I’ve been highlighting festive 4th outfits all month, and I have another handful of options today for you!
If you follow me on Facebook you already saw this cover up, because I had to show it the day I received it. I’M IN LOVE. It’s lightweight, airy, and adorable! When you click on the link, it looks like it’s sold out, but just click “see all buying options” in the top right corner, and then you can add it to cart for $26.90.
Here I have it styled for the 4th with red, white, and blue accessories.
But here I’ve just got it styled with summer accessories. These rattan earrings quickly became a favorite of mine when I got them a couple of months ago, but this bracelet stack is NEW and awesome!
Seriously! LOOK HOW CUTE! This is the “yellow” colorway. They’re acrylic and perfect for a pool or beach day.
This white jersey tee is a great year-round tee, but when styled with these accessories you are all sorts of festive for the 4th. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. You’re about to see several more outfits with the denim shorts, so don’t forget to use the code STMT10 for the shorts.
This blue tee is a regular ol’ crew neck at first glance, but look at the sleeves! They’re a little special! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
My exact tee is sold out, but you can check out several options that are still available with “Loves Jesus and America Too” on them.
I think this one looks great, and it comes in several colors. I almost always get a men’s medium in Amazon tees.
This puff sleeve top could easily be paired with a pair of nice pants for the office, but I think it’s super cute styled casually with cut-offs too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I’m also pumped about the Colleen Rothschild sitewide sale going on right now! Use the code FIREWORKS to get 20% off anything and everything on the site!
These first two products are the two products I can’t live without. I use them consistently throughout the entire year.
Out of all of the products in the Colleen Rothschild line, the Cleansing Balm is my favorite product by far. It totally changes the taking off your makeup game, and I’m telling you, you won’t even dread washing your face at night. I KNOW. That’s a big claim, but I stand behind it.
This balm truly has a cult following. For those of you that haven’t tried it yet, it’s different than any other cleanser I’ve ever used. First of all, I apply it to a dry face. I scoop out a small amount of the balm with dry hands and slather it on to my dry face. As I rub it on my face, the heat from my hands changes the balm into more of an oily texture and it just feels incredibly luxurious. It melts my makeup away, leaves my skin feeling amazing and hydrated, and the light citrus smell is PERFECT.
And listen, if you’re concerned about the price, don’t be. This jumbo tub will last most people around 9 months!
After cleansing my face, I use the peel pads. I’ve been using the Glycolic Acid Peel Pads for a couple of years now, and I absolutely swear by them. After adding them to my weekly routine years ago, I’ve never looked back.
So, what are they? Remember the Stridex pads we all used as teenagers? Well, these are the new and much improved version! While the Stridex pads were salicylic acid and more of an acne treatment, the CR pads are glycolic and lactic acid, both used for cell turnover.
We’re talking a spa-strength treatment formula that helps to help dissolve skin-clogging dirt and debris. And listen to this… your skin’s natural renewal process will be enhanced as a result of the 10 percent blend of The Glycolic and Lactic Acids in the pads. They target fine lines, hyperpigmentation and imperfections and will reveal a fresher, brighter, more even complexion. YES, PLEASE!
I’m ALL ABOUT brighter skin and these pads really deliver. They are large, so I sweep the pad all over my face, neck, and chest. There are 60 pads per order, and I’m only using one of these every several days, so they should last between 2-3 months.
WHAT I’M LOVING
What am I LOVING?
The answer is Walmart. Yes, again.
If 5 years ago you would have told me that Walmart would have been a blog subject for “WHAT I’M LOVING”, I can guarantee I wouldn’t have believed you. 5 years ago I shopped at Walmart for groceries on occasion, but that was it.
Fast forward 5 years, I have my groceries delivered weekly from Walmart, and some of my favorite pieces in my closet are from Walmart as well.
WALMART FOR THE WIN, Y’ALL.
If you’re interested in anything you see below, click HERE for my full reviews.
And check out these buckle slide sandals that arrived at my house just yesterday! I’ve seen several of my favorite influencers talk about them a lot, but they’ve been sold out in all sizes and colors for a sweet forever. I’m guessing they’ll go quickly again, but I was PUMPED to see there are lots of sizes that are now available again in each color (as of Tuesday night). They are so similar to these DV slides that are $90!
After trying them on, I would suggest sizing up 1/2 a size.
The pink are my favorites for sure! The color is so pretty, the shape is so classic, and I’m in love with the tortoise buckle. The $30 price tag is incredible. I would pay $130 for these chic sandals without batting an eye. Again, size up 1/2.
And I also want to quickly mention my Walmart+ membership and the grocery delivery that I absolutely swear by.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, the grocery delivery service HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.
I would love EVERYBODY to try this membership! I understand that it’s kind of a big deal to sign up for a membership, but I’ve found that it is one thousand percent worth it. Click HERE for a previous post where I outline all of the benefits. Click HERE if you are ready to sign up for yourself! Last week on Instastories I talked about the grocery delivery order I placed, mainly for the ingredients I needed to make a pasta salad that I was taking to my girlfriend’s house for a pool day!
And when I was placing my grocery order, I threw this super cute melamine set into my cart! It’s pretty big (which makes it perfect for a big salad), and the serving pieces are great. At just $16, it’s a total steal.
I stumbled upon this pasta salad recipe when browsing Pinterest one day, and it did not disappoint. It was fresh, flavorful, and pretty too! It’s a Cilantro Lime Pasta salad, and it was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be making it again, and next time I think I might add some chicken or shrimp.
The salad was a big hit!
Making the above salad has inspired me to try to make 1 new pasta salad a week this summer! They’re great to throw together and then keep in the fridge for quick lunches during the week. The next salad I’ve planned for the rotation is Shay’s Caprese Pasta Salad! YUM.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
We’ve got a couple of HUGE things coming up on the blog.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and Amazon Prime Day are both right around the corner, and I’m already working behind the scenes to make sure I’m a great resource for y’all for both events!
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
We’ve been summering HARD over here. Nothing big, just lots of camps, and lots of friend and family time.
We managed to go see one of my nephews championship baseball games a couple of weeks, so we grabbed a pic of all 3 boys. I’m not sure if you can tell in this picture, but the 3 of them really favor each other. Gosh I love these boys.
There’s also been lots of dog lovin’…
This was saying goodbye before we left for dinner one night. 😉
And I found these 2 asleep in our bed late one Saturday night. Sooooo sweet.
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
This was Memorial Day last year, so it was just a little over a year ago. Only a year has passed, but Carter looks like a totally different kid.
Because this is what he looks like now…
He was a boy last summer, but this summer he’s a young a man.
WHAT I’M WEARING
I wore this dress to church on Sunday and loved it! You saw it on last week’s Amazon post, but I snapped this pic on the way out the door on Sunday.
Now if you’re looking for a bargain today, this dress is not your dress.
But if you’re looking for something special that’s beautifully made and makes you feel like a million bucks, then have I got a dress for you! It’s got a hefty price tag, but I love it oh so much.
It’s a 100% cotton poplin with a floral print, ruffle skirt, split v neck, and long sleeves with elastic cuffs. It also has a wonderful fabric belt that you can either knot or tie in a bow. There’s a button keyhole in the back, and it has a full cotton slip that comes with it. The color combo is like a deep cranberry red with a soft lilac. It’s an absolutely gorgeous and totally striking color combo. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I think I would be fine in a small.
dress / styled with things that are no longer available 🙁
I wore this dress to a friend’s dinner and it was so cute and comfy! The vibrant color combination, the relaxed fit, the v-neck, the flutter sleeves, the sash at the waist…I LOVE EVERY SINGLE DETAIL. It’s cute, comfortable, lightweight, and super flattering. I think it will look great on all different types of bodies. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. It is generously sized, so I think most will need to size down.
I haven’t worn this anywhere yet, but I wanted to show it to you again.
The blouse isn’t cut as generously as the dress, so I’m wearing a medium. It has the same crepey feel and the same grey pattern just a bit more fitted of a cut and a bit more tailored of a look. Note the pretty little ruffled pleats on the collar and the soft tiny pleats on the shoulders.
Here’s what you need to know about the shorts…First of all, they are pull-on styling with an elastic waistband on the back. And all the people said “WooHoo!”. They’ve got a 4-in inseam, the length hits at the thigh, and they are mid-rise and sit a little high on the hip. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
That’s all for today, y’all! Make sure you link up and let us know what’s going on with you!
