WHAT WE ARE EATING

Cava.

I’m eating Cava.

CAVA, CALL ME.

For those of you that haven’t heard me talk about Cava before, it’s like a Mediterranean Chipotle, and it’s FABULOUS. I HAVE TO HAVE it once a week. And full disclosure, last week I got it to go one day, and then I met my friend Lisa there for a second day. AND LISTEN, don’t you even thinking about judging me until you’ve had the crispy pita and the crazy feta. #becauseOMG

This bowl looks like a mess, but it’s so flipping good.

I do arugula on the bottom with saffron rice. My 3 dips I add are tzatziki, spicy hummus, and crazy feta. For the main event, I get 1/2 white sweet potatoes and 1/2 roasted veggies. On top, I pile it up high with the tomato/onion mixture, the corn, the pickled onions, the pickles, and the pita crisps. For dressing, I get 1/2 yogurt dill and 1/2 skhug (cilantro and jalapeno dressing, but not too spicy at all).

And they recently added this strawberry citrus cooler to their drink offerings. YUM.

WHAT I’M LOVING

Do you remember this collage I showed at the beginning of the month?

I found this dress online the day before I featured the collage. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it, I ordered it immediately, and I was having fun playing with different ways I could style it before it arrived.

Well.

The dress came in AND I LOVED IT EVEN MORE THAN I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO. It doesn’t always happen this way, but my goodness it did this time.

THIS DRESS IS DARLING.

For size reference, I’m wearing a 6, which is often true to size for me in dresses. (I sometimes even have to get an 8 to accommodate the girls and my massive rib cage, but the 6 worked for me in this dress.)

I ended up styling it with items I already had in my closet, and I LOVED IT. But I’m already looking forward to styling it several different ways!

I loved the dress so much that I wore this to church Easter Sunday! It’s bright, colorful, happy, and the fit is so flattering.

And yes, it was perfect for church…

But it’s also a dress that’s totally made for a beach vacation too! Or maybe a Cinco de Mayo party! Or even a date night or a lunch with the girls. It could work for so many different occasions. It’s very well made, it’s 100% cotton, and it has a stretchy liner underneath the skirt.

And here’s the real kicker…it feels like pajamas.

The colors! The stripes! It’s seriously so so darling.

I wear the best strapless bra in the world with it (and if you don’t have this strapless yet, shame on you). Just kidding. Kind of.

And do you see my bracelet? Consider this a sneak peek. IT’S FABULOUS. And it’s not ready for y’all yet, but it will be soon.

And look at the tiers on the skirt and the tassels on the hem! And the final tier has a little pleated ruffle, which is such a lovely little detail.

Here you can see a close up of the tiny pleated ruffle on the bottom hem.

The bucket bag is one of my favorite Amazon finds. I love the bamboo handle, but there’s a cross body strap as well. And y’all, these wedges are my favorite wedges from last year. I was thrilled when they brought them back this year! They are the perfect neutral to go with just about any outfit you could imagine, and they are comfy. I recommend sizing up a 1/2.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

We had two soccer games last week because 1 was a makeup game, and I tell ya what, I wish we had 2 soccer games every week! We love watching him play. My friend Sarah snapped this pic before the game…my guy is #10.

Jude, Ben, and Carter after the game. They tied (totally should have won), but it was a great game. Carter scored a goal and scored on a penalty kick! Go #10!

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

We had a wonderful Easter with mine and Chris’s families. We missed Chris’s sister’s family who lives in California, but we had a good time with these boys.

And the above picture made me think of this picture. This one was taken 5 years ago.

After I found this picture I had a thought. In 5 more years (the amount of time between these two pictures), CARTER WILL BE 18 YEARS OLD.

I am unwell.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT

SUMMER IS COMING, Y’ALL! AND I AM PUMPED!

I’m doing ALL THE THINGS TO PREPARE.

Step ONE: Get my heels in shape.

I did this foot peel several years ago and was equally ASTONISHED and HORRIFIED at the process. I was FLABBERGASTED with the results. Check out the reviews, but I beg of you, don’t be eating when you do. And prepare to squeal with both fear and delight. The pictures are graphic. Haha!

I have no idea what kind of magic and wizardry is involved with this mask, but it reveals baby soft skin. And it doesn’t hurt one bit! Just follow the directions, and prepare to be in awe.

If you were alive in the 80s, jelly sandals were probably a huge part of your summer life.

HOW CUTE ARE THESE JELLY SANDALS?!?

They are absolutely perfect for the pool and beach, and I’ll be wearing them around town too. They’re a chic and modern new take on a jelly sandal, and I am HERE. FOR. IT.

I rocked the heck out of jelly sandals the first time around, and this time will be no different. I went with the “bright poppy”, but I love so many of the colors. For size reference, I’m typically a 6 1/2. The 7s were too big, but the 6s are perfect on me.

WHAT I’M WEARING

Y’all seem to really love it when I do KEEP or RETURN posts, so you’re going to get a mini KEEP/RETURN today!

This is a dress that didn’t quite work for me, but I think it’s going to be awesome for a lot of y’all. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. The small was tight in the chest, but if I sized up to a medium, it would be too long and too big everywhere else.

The floral pattern is very sweet, I love the split v neck and the double ruffle sleeves, and you know I’m always going to be a fan of an elastic waist. I typically prefer shorter dresses, but I actually like the length of this one. This dress would be great for church, graduation, a shower, or even a wedding if styled appropriately.

VERDICT: RETURN. This dress wasn’t for me, but I actually think this dress would be great on somebody who is a little bit flatter chested.

This is a top I highlighted last month in “violet stone”. I loved it and y’all loved it. I got several questions from readers asking if the white top was see thru, but I didn’t have the top, so I couldn’t answer that. So I ordered the top.

It’s not see thru. And it’s awesome.

It’s light, it’s airy, it’s not fitted…and although I love my violet one, I dare say this white one is even better. It’s a classic white blouse with nice design details. It’s a gauzy cotton blend, the sleeves are a double flutter, the neckline has tiny little pleats, and the split neck is just the right length. It’s just a pretty little top! I’m wearing a medium.

VERDICT: KEEP!

Oh…and fyi…my must have denim shorts are ON SALE!!!!!! WoooooHoooooooo! This is my 4th year I think to have them. I wear them constantly in the spring and summer.

And here I’ve styled it a bit differently with straight legged jeans and a different color necklace.

These are perfect jeans for spring and summer. A great light wash, minimal distressing, comfy, flattering, and oh so cute! They call them skinny jeans on the site, but I think of them as more of a straight leg jean. They aren’t skinny jeans on me, but more like a fitted straight leg jean. I have them turned up one hem here. For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4.

This ombre top is a great Nordstrom Rack find that I first showed y’all last month. Spoiler Alert: I kept it! It’s an easy breezy blouse and the colors are absolutely gorgeous!  I’m wearing a small in the blouse, and I’ve still got plenty of room, so I would suggest sizing down. I generally like to do a half tuck with all of my tops, but you’ll see online how it looks great worn out as well.

These cuff shorts caught my eye when I was shopping in store. I didn’t have time to try them on there, but I grabbed them and brought them home with me.

The waistband has an elastic back, and they are made of stretch cotton. YES, PLEASE. They are very comfortable. I haven’t worn them out of the house yet (have only done mirror selfies in them), but I really like them. They also come in white (not sure if they will be see-thru?), olive, and black. For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 27.

VERDICT ON SHORTS: KEEP! I’m happy to have some comfy shorts for summer that are something other than denim.

And because I get feedback from y’all that you like seeing outfits over again so you can remember other ways to style pieces…here’s the same top styled two different ways.

THESE DENIM SHORTS are FABULOUS. They are mid-rise with a 5″ inseam, and I feel confident that they are going to be the PERFECT length for many of you. They have the Ab-Solution technology which includes the stretchy waistband and the mesh panels for slimming and shaping. The fabric is very soft, they are pretty lightweight, and they are ridiculously comfortable. I’m wearing a 4, but I’m considering sizing up for a more relaxed fit.

And how great does it look with my white jeans! Such a great summer outfit for girl’s night or a date night.

Here’s the shorts again, but with a great twist neck tee. This is actually the same tee you saw earlier this month with my white jeans and denim jacket outfit. So yes, I kept it. It comes in 9 great colors, and I’m wearing the “red alert”, but it definitely leans red-orange. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This blouse is a soft yellow plaid with a split neck and pleated sleeves. It’s adorable. I think it looks awesome styled with my white bootcut jeans. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I hate to admit it, but until recently we had some realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly old (and janky) pillows at our house. I saw another influencer talking about these pillows, and when I saw the reviews, I grabbed them. Y’ALL. There are over 100,000 5 STAR reviews. If you are super picky about your pillows like we are, start out by buying them for your guest bedroom. I mean, your guests deserve pillows without stains on them, right? Haha! I promise you’ll end up ordering them for your bedroom as well.

I’m working on a graphic tees post, and this tee is a favorite that has arrived so far. It’s soooo soft and SO cute! It comes in tons of different colors.
