If you follow me on instagram, you probably caught a couple of pictures from the events, but if you didn’t, you are going to have to wait to see some of those another time.
I know, I’m such a tease. 🙂
I’m trying to work out a deal with the place we stayed to host a giveaway for y’all, so I want to wait and talk about the destination when that happens.
And seriously, keep your fingers crossed that it happens. The place was awesome.
Here are me and my guys getting read to head out to the ceremony!
I told them all to hop in a selfie with me, and they knew just what to do. 🙂
So if you remember, I was planning on wearing the one shoulder coral dress to this wedding.
The first one I ordered had a pull in it near the shoulder strap, so I sent it back.
I ordered the exact same dress (because I loved it!), but when it arrived (3 days before we were leaving for the wedding), it had the exact same pull in the exact same place. Dangit!
So, I ran to the mall 2 days before we left, and I found this turquoise lace number.
And I ADORED it.
And I could hardly wait to share it with all of y’all, because I knew so many of y’all would probably love it too.
A bright vibrant color, a simple silhouette, a little cap sleeve, and lace!
What’s not to love?
Well, I’ll tell you what’s not to love.
IT’S UNAVAILABLE.
Like, I can’t find it ANYWHERE.
You can find it in white HERE, but the turquoise has just up and vanished.
#likeitneverevenexisted
And there is a similar one in a GORGEOUS pink color from the same maker HERE. It looks inappropriately short on the model, but I’m thinking it’s probably because she’s just like 6’2″. 🙂
Or click HERE for another turquoise option from a different maker.
OOHHHH WAIT! UPDATE at 1:00 p.m. on MONDAY!
A reader found my turquoise dress!!!!!
I have a 4 in the dress and found it to run true to size!!!
Thank you Janda!
And if you use the code FRIENDS, it will take 25% OFF the dress, making it only $103.50! GREAT DEAL!
(The FRIENDS code ends tonight.)
Since the dress was turquoise…and lace….I decided to go minimal with the accessories.
I got a new pair of nude pumps (and I’m going to sing their praises in a minute), I made a pair of earrings in the Kendra Scott Color Bar, and I already had the fun clutch!
nude patent heels HERE / clutch HERE / earrings HERE
The little guy had to strike a pose too.
#nailedit
I had Chris snap another picture of me after the ceremony and before the reception.
I MEAN.
STOP.
HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS VENUE?!?!?!
I was seriously blown away by the beauty.
Again, I’ll reveal more about the site once we hopefully get the details of the giveaway
all worked out!
If you want to get my look, click on what you are interested in!
And you can find the earrings HERE. I couldn’t get them to show up below.
And remember, the code FRIENDS will get you 25% OFF the dress until midnight on Monday!
Me and My Guy.
I looked over at him during the reception and just felt so dang lucky.
We are about to celebrate our 14 year wedding anniversary, and since we’ve been dating since we were 16, we’ve been together 1/2 of our lives!
Love you babe!
My whole world in one little picture.
Carter looked at this picture and said “Oh my goodness, I look like a miniature Daddy!”
Yes, yes you do. 🙂
So like I said before, I kept my accessories to a minimum. I didn’t want too much going on since the dress was all lace. But even though I didn’t pile the accessories on, I loved everything I paired with the dress! When you go “less is more”, you definitely need to love what you choose!
First off, the clutch.
Pictures do not do the clutch justice. There are clear sequins sewn onto the bag that make it subtly sparkly. It really is so pretty! The accent color in the clutch is definitely coral-ish, but I still wore the pink (magenta) earrings and thought it looked great all together!

And let’s talk a second about the shoes.
They arrived the day before we left for the wedding, so I was just crossing my fingers they were going to fit and be comfortable. And YES M’AM THEY DID (fit). AND WERE (comfortable).
#whew
I danced my face off all night long.
And these babies did me right.
They aren’t the most amazing quality (BUT COME ON, they are only $59.95).
They are the perfect nude color and the perfect heel height! I was very happy with the purchase and know I will wear them for years to come.
How in the world did I not own a pair of nude heels before?
#forshame
I did the Cotton Eye Joe, The Electric Slide, The Wobble, The Twist.
I could go on and on.
I also did plenty of free-styling. 🙂
And the heels handled every dance I threw at them.
They were champs.
They even survived a near death experience I had when a REALLY TALL groomsman whom I had never even talked to before this incident (and who had perhaps had a few too many cocktails) thought it would be a good idea to pick me up and throw me over one of his shoulders.
I literally saw my life flash before my eyes.
I at least saw a couple of my teeth missing and a handful of stitches in my chin.
(And I’m pretty sure several people saw my Hanky Pankys.)
Somehow, with the help of a lot of innocent bystanders, they were able to steady him before we both fell crashing to the ground.
But I’m telling you, I ALMOST DIED.
Okay, back to the clutch for a second.
You might remember the clutch from when I carried it to the Genesis Women’s Shelter luncheon.
pants HERE (only petite sizes remaining, I’m wearing a 2R)/ crossover hem tank HERE (I’m wearing a small.)/ earrings HERE in the opal-gold combination/ twinkle chain bib necklace HERE / snakeskin sandals no longer available / clutch HERE/ bracelets sold out
So if you love the idea of wearing a lace dress to an upcoming event, I’ve got LOTS of options here for you since my dress is nowhere to be found.
Just click on the dresses you are interested in!
First up, some bright and vibrant color choices!
And I’ve also got some softer color choices as well.
And because I couldn’t leave you without a couple of breathtaking pictures from the weekend.
Look at the ceremony location.
(The gorgeous wedding pictures were taken by Kristi Bracewell.)
The entire weekend was MAGICAL.
And here is a picture of the happy couple!
Wasn’t Cassi the most beautiful bride?!?!
Love you Cassi and Mark!
See y’all back here on Wednesday for the Bachelorette recap!
xoxo,

Tomorrow my husband and I will have been married 14 years. We also started dating when I was 16 and he was 15! It's fun to hear we have that in common!

Not to brag but it makes me feel like a million bucks! Hopefully I look like it too. I had not decided on shoes yet and those look perfect. Are they true to size? I have a relatively narrow foot with a high arch.
Sheaffer says
That dress is gorgeous Dena! And yes, the shoes are true to size! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
April Parrish says
Beautiful pics of you with your boys!!!! In love with those nude heels…I've tried on the Steve Madden similar heels but the strap is just too skinny—do you think these have more coverage???
Have a great day!
Sheaffer says
Hey April! Yes, they definitely have more coverage. I tried the Steve Madden ones on, and they didn't work for me at all. Even the sales guy was like "Yeah, I don't really like those on your feet." 🙂 My foot actually didn't even fit into the Steve Madden ones right. These are MUCH more comfy! Hope this helps April! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I had the saMD trouble with the Steve Madden ones too

You are ADORABLE! That dress was made for you! 3 things…1. I definitely clicked on the link of the 6'2'' model and I LOL-ed because it is WAY to short for her GoGoGadget legs. and 2. When I saw the picture of the wedding party, I immediately was scanning for the tall guy that picked you up because WHO DOES THAT?? 3. Cassie looked beautiful!
Glad you survived! Happy Monday!
Gina Daily says
You look fabulous – totally perfect dress for a guest-of-wedding. Also love the cute photos of your family. You all just seem so fun. 🙂 ( I feel like I should say "y'all seem so fun" ….but that would be a lie because I'm not from Texas ;)… )

I love seeing pictures of your family! I agree- less is more many times in fashion. Although you loved the one-shoulder, isn't it fun when you "have" to go shopping again and find a great treasure, like you found in this gem of a turquoise number?! Spot on! 🙂
Kelsey Mann Peacock says
That turquoise dress is gorgeous on you!!! Also, how precious is your family of three ?! You all looked adorable for the wedding!

what size dress did u order snd was it true size?
Sheaffer says
I ordered a 4 and it was true to size!
ncmama says
Did you by chance also try the 2? I'm just curious. I ordered the 4 yesterday and it came today, but I'm wondering how the 2 would fit. I'm not as well endowed as you and can't help but wonder if the 2 would be better, but I don't really want to pay for all those shipping charges if it's not necessary.
Sheaffer says
I didn't try the 2. The 4 was a tiny bit snug on my chest, so I knew the 2 wouldn't work for me! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Sarah Kuykendall says
Your entire family is darling!! Did you get married when you were 18?? Wow!
Sheaffer says
Bless you Sarah. 🙂
Milissa Marona says
Sheaffer – you and your family are adorable!! I wish I would have known about these shoes prior to this weekend as I went to a wedding and wore a similar pair and could not move my feet after a few hours…the wedding I went to was in the Malibu Canyon and looks a lot like this location 🙂
Mandy says
That turquoise dress looked WAY better on you than it did on the model! Gorgeous venue and stunning family pics!
Grace says
I adore you, and I adore seeing your family. It's crazy to me that you started dating Chris at 16, because I'm 17, and there is no way I would have been ready at any point to meet my future husband. Mad props to you both. And Carter is so stinking cute!! Happy Monday Sheaffer!!
Amanda says
I can't stop thinking about those snakeskin sandals. I know you said they are sold out but what brand are they? Wanted to see them up close to find something similar. 🙂
That lace dress is gorgeous!!
Sheaffer says
Hi there! They are Dolce Vita!

I am BEYOND excited to hear your loved these shoes! I am a new Mama to a 9-month old and work from home, so flats are usually my go-to these days. I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding in August and am fortunate to be rocking a really cute short green bridesmaids' dress and thought a nude heel would be perfect. I ordered these on a whim last week and when I saw your post, I thought, "Please, oh please, tell me that Sheaffer has the same shoes and gives them a good review!!!" The Nordstrom shipping notification tells me they will be here today. Woohoo!
Meagan Satterfield says
We live in D.S. and love this venue! Can't wait to hear where you stayed 🙂
Jeanie says
Love your outfit! It looks better on you than on the Nordstrom and Lord & Taylor models. I would give just about anything to be able to wear those shoes.
Amy Jane says
I am so sorry we left the reception before the real fun started! I was too starstruck to introduce myself, but we're kinda related. My uncle performed the ceremony. Sue introduced my parents – she and my dad are cousins. My mom was Sue's maid of honor. Anyways, your outfit was super cute! It was a BEAUTIFUL wedding and a GORGEOUS venue. I hope your giveaway works out because that would be a SWEET prize.
Sheaffer says
Awww! I wish we would have had a chance to meet Amy! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Deborah says
The dress just went down to 79.99 at Lord & Taylor and code JUNE will take an extra 20% off ? I'm normally a 14 these days …wonder if the 12 would fit!
Dana Vissage says
Sheaffer, you have the most adorable little family! Also, I LOVE that whole outfit… of course, I've never seen you in an outfit I didn't love. 🙂
