Hi, my name is Sheaffer, and I love pretty jewelry.
I should say I love it NOW, because jewelry wasn’t something I used to pay a lot of attention to before I started blogging. It was never important to me, and frankly, I would rather spend money on a new shirt than a new necklace.
For years and years, I basically wore the same earrings (a tiny pair of diamond hoops that Chris gave me for a big birthday) and a sweet little diamond drop necklace. They were really the only pieces of jewelry I wore consistently. But when I started taking pictures for the blog, I quickly realized that my outfits needed a little something extra. My overall look was definitely lacking, and jewelry was the answer!
So, I made the decision to step up my jewelry game. My outfits NEEDED some extra color, sass, and spunk.
Now I believe that jewelry totally makes the outfit. When putting outfits together and deciding on jewelry, there are some self imposed jewelry “rules” I follow. I typically choose one piece to really focus on. For example, if I have a really great statement necklace (I prefer long pendant type necklaces), then I go really simple with the earrings. If I have a big statement earring, then I will wear a dainty little necklace, or maybe even no necklace at all.
The bracelets are typically a wild card. They are usually the last decision I make with my outfits, and I sometimes have to play around a bit before I get the right combination. I rarely wear just one bracelet because I love the layered look, so I often find myself playing with different combos.
Victoria Emerson is a great source for GORGEOUS bracelets, so when they asked to team up, I was so excited! I’ve talked about them once before, and I truly love their pieces. They have a wide variety of jewelry to choose from, but I’m most enamored by their wrap bracelets and the boho cuffs. These bracelets take the guess work out of stacking bracelets, and I love it!
Victoria Emerson is most known for her wrap bracelets. They are hand made with genuine leather and a variety of different beads and stones, with an unbelievable attention to detail. And ladies, they are seriously gorgeous.
You can choose bracelets that wrap either 3 or 5 times. I’m wearing two Victoria Emerson bracelets in the picture below, the top 3 strands are a wrap bracelet, and the bottom four strands are a boho cuff.
I chose a 3 wrap bracelet (the top three strands on the picture below) so I could still choose to layer it with others. Mine has green hint emerald cut crystals with various colored neutral stones. I just love the different finishes and textures. Each bracelet comes with a Victoria Emerson Pouch & Engraved Victoria Emerson Nickel-Free Clasp. Now, before you start thinking these are a luxury item and out of your price range….check this out…most of the bracelets are between $24-$42. WHAT? I KNOW!
One of the greatest things about the wrap bracelets is that they fit any size wrist! Each bracelet has 4 different loops on the end, and you pick the tightness of the loop depending on your sizing needs. I pick the tightest loop to pull the circle through, and then I attach the loosest loop too so I won’t have the extra leather hanging down.
I wore this outfit when Chris and I went out a couple of weekends ago for our 18th anniversary! 18 years y’all! How in the world am I that old?
Sizing Tips for the outfit: I sized up to a medium for the dress since it’s body-conscious, I’m wearing a medium in the jacket (I often do in jackets), and the slides are true to size.
dress / must have denim jacket / rose gold slides / wrap bracelet /boho cuff / leopard clutch
Whereas you wrap the wrap bracelets around your wrist on your own (hence the name WRAP bracelet), the boho cuffs are closed either with a clasp or a magnet closure. It’s 1 bracelet, but it looks like you have layered several bracelets together. The fact that it’s fastened together makes all of the layers stay put nicely. There are countless options to choose from, and they all have such a fun mix of sizes, materials, beads. and finishes. Some are even up to seven different strands. These boho cuffs pack a lot of bang for your buck and will add amazing style to your outfits!
Click HERE for my boho cuff (the 4 strands worn closest to my wrist that have 1 clasp). This bracelet features features a mix of Hematite, silver copper beads and stone. I loved the pretty blush pink beads, which is what initially drew me to the bracelet.
And as always, I shall talk about my MUST HAVE DENIM JACKET until the end of time. Ladies. You MUST have it. Please trust me on this! It’s stretchy, comfy, flattering, and the perfect layering piece for so many months of the year. I’m wearing a medium here.
The body conscious tank dress in an incredible value at ONLY $56. I recommend sizing up 1 (the medium is perfect on me). The fit of this dress is FABULOUS and it comes in 12 colors. It’s hard to see on the black dress, but if you click through to see the other colors, you will see that it has gathering and ruching for an extremely flattering fit that seems to sculpt your waist! And the tulip hem makes it a little sassy. It has thousands of 5 STAR REVIEWS, so it’s definitely a crowd favorite!
You can click HERE (and scroll to the bottom of the post) to see a couple of other colors on me. You can get a better idea for the fit and shape of the dress when I’m wearing the other colors. You can also see the ruching better.
The leopard clutch (only $45 – and there’s only 25 left right now!) and rose gold slides (just under $60) also really helped punch up the outfit. Imagine this outfit with black wedges and a black bag….it would still be cute….but I love it with the bold accessories so much more.
These bracelets are awesome. Sometimes my wrist can become claustrophobic with tons of bracelets (does this make me sound crazy? please tell me I’m not the only one!), but I don’t find that to be the case with these. I’m totally in love with all of the different colors and textures, and look at the sparkly detail! They are so interesting and unique, and are great worn separately as well as layered. I mean, I’m layering layered bracelets. #imsoblogger
