If you caught Monday’s post, you know this week is all about READER QUESTIONS! Monday’s post covered topics ranging from a jean jacket that’s not as fitted as the one I always talk about (but doesn’t look like it belongs in an 80s video), an all occasion dress, and the fact that I RARELY read. And by rarely, I mean that I basically read only when Mel has a new book coming out. 🙂
So, today we are continuing with more reader questions! Let’s get started!
READER QUESTION #6 (Remember, you can catch Questions #1-#5 HERE)
Hi, Sheaffer! I’m pretty new to your blog, and I’ve got a question for you. (Just fyi, I found your blog randomly while searching about Third Love bras…..which I now love by the way thanks to your recommendation.) Anyway, I’ve got a question that you’ve probably received many times before. Do YOU wear white jeans in the fall and winter? I love my white jeans and hate putting them up for half the year, but I’ve never worn them out past September because I feel like people might think I’m crazy. HELP! Do I put up my white jeans or not? – Melissa
Hey, Melissa! So happy to have you as a new reader! I do receive this question pretty frequently, and my answer is always YES!!!! Wear your white jeans ALL YEAR LONG!
I’ve been wearing my white jeans all year long for 2-3 years now. Like you, I remember being kind of freaked out by it at first, wondering if people were quietly judging the fact that I was breaking the no white after Labor Day rule that we were taught by all of our mothers. 🙂
WELL. OLD RULES NO LONGER APPLY! If you style your white jeans with fall and winter pieces, you will love the crisp and clean look that is created!
In this next outfit I’m Fall ready in my white jeans, booties, and a short sleeved sweatshirt. Sadly, the shirt is almost sold out, but I still wanted to show you the outfit because it’s such an easy look to replicate! All you need is another grey top (I’ll give you some options in a minute!) and a gold necklace.

Here are some other grey tops that would also be great:
And here’s another fall/winter look with white jeans (that you’ve already seen before). Remember, make sure you size wayyyyyy down in this top. I’m wearing an x-small, I’m never an x-small, and it’s still quite roomy. It now also comes in a grey and light yellow combo that would also look great with white jeans.

READER QUESTION #7:
I need a recommendation for a small bag. I see in your posts that you tend to gravitate towards big bags, but I hate how everything gets lost in a big bag. I’m in my 20s and don’t have kids yet, so all I really need is a place for my keys, my phone, a small case that holds my license and a credit card, and some make-up essentials. I would love a couple of different recommendations both for the work week and for going out. Thanks in advance! Loree
Hey, Loree! Unless I’m going out and carrying a clutch (this clutch is my favorite and it’s ONLY $45!), you are totally right. I much prefer a big bag.
I do have some requests for smaller bags, so I have a couple of recommendations for you today. I mentioned this before, but after taking a couple of pictures with this bag, I ended up taking it back because it was just too small for my liking. But for those of you that are looking for a smaller bag, this one could be right up your alley! I like this pretty chestnut color, and it comes in black too.
Pay special attention to my sweater as well! It’s ONLY $39 and it has this cute little pleated detail on the v neck. Some reviews talk about it being tight in the arms, but I don’t notice that as a problem at all. I’m wearing my regular size small. This would actually be another great grey choice to pair with white jeans, and it comes in blush too!
v neck sweater pullover / necklace sold out 🙁 / earrings / jeans / booties / bag

There is this bag that I have in grey from last year, but I like this cedar color a lot! And it’s ON SALE for ONLY $52.80 (reg. $88). It’s a good medium size.
And this light camel colored bag is so pretty! It’s 40% OFF too!
And if you are a Barrington fan, check out this new satchel they have! I MEAN. L.O.V.E. Use the code STMTSAVE10 for 10% OFF your order.
Not sure why the picture is so tiny?!? #sorryaboutthat

READER QUESTION #8:
I know you love the v-neck Madwell tee, and so do I. I need a long sleeve t-shirt that I love just as much. I want to be able to wear it on it’s own and layer it easily as well. I don’t want to have to wear a cami with it. Any ideas? Best, Lauren
Well, Lauren! I HAVE JUST THE TEE FOR YOU! This tee is a little bit different in that it has a swing fit, but that’s what makes me love it so. (If you are looking for a straight up regular ol’ tee, you might want to try THIS one). However, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this one! It’s super soft and extremely comfortable. It has a great fit with a nice drape and a little interesting detail with the pleat in the back. It’s very flattering…and I’m telling you…IT’S LIKE BUTTAH.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
My top appears a really deep wine (with purple undertones in it) in the picture. But I just confirmed on my order, and I am definitely wearing the “burgundy”. It comes in 10 colorways/stripe patterns.

So, that’s it for reader questions today. I had some others that were originally on this post, but I just couldn’t get the answers written. I was at the hospital for my dad’s heart surgery all day yesterday, and my computer wasn’t always wanting to connect. If you follow me on social media, you know the surgery was a success! They did a valve repair, fixed the a fib, and completed a triple bypass. We are so grateful to all of you for all of the love and prayers you sent our way!!!! And I have to tell ya, my dad was pretty pumped that the prayer request I put on instagram for him is MY MOST LIKED PICTURE EVER! #godad
He’s been feeling so crummy for so long, and we are very hopeful that after recovery he will feel like a new man.
Now, before you go! I’ve got a SALE ALERT! This military jacket is ON SALE!!!!!
striped peplum tee / earrings/ necklace / military jacket/ similar grey jeans / wedge boots
Happy Hump Day, Everybody! Hope it’s a great one!

Glad your dad’s surgery was a success and hope he feels better soon. I’m wearing my white jeans today, and so far, I have not received any dirty looks. I also don’t care. White jeans can be great, especially in the fall. I’m in Oklahoma, and it’s not quite cool enough for sweaters yet. But I’m still rocking the white jeans.

Continued prayers for your dad as he recovers! Love the posts this week 🙂

I’m glad everything went so smoothly for your dad! I hope he is back to 100% very soon!
I just received that Bobeau swing tee this week (in black) and “buttah” is no understatement! Dang that shirt is soft as a kitten’s belly. 🙂 I love it so much I’m trying to decide which color (or colors??) to get next.
Sheaffer says
Denise, I’m laughing soooo hard! YES! Soft as a kitten’s belly!!!! It’s an awesome shirt! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Hi Shaeffer, I wanted to let you know that today is national TACO Day. So please check online for what’s available in your area. I just found out about it this morning and automatically I thought of you. I read you blog Faithfully every week. Thanks Laura
Ashley says
Oh my gosh! I’m SOOOO happy and thankful to the person who asked about white jeans! I was literally packing last night for my birthday weekend in Charleston this weekend and so wanted to take some of your pointers and ideas from your cute white jeans looks but I texted my mom and said “is it still a thing not to wear white pants after labor day?”…in typical mom fashion, she responds with “wear whatever you want dear but I just won’t be causing any fashion ‘faux pas’ ” …thaaaaaanks mom lol. Needless to say I left them in the closet sadly but now I know that I can and will wear my white with pride next time! lol. Thank you for your Q&A post and happy your dad is doing well! Praying for a swift and healthy recovery! 🙂
Christina McCoy says
Shaeffer! Love your blog and this post! Question about the blardigan… does it shed? I tried one on one time (and it did feel like a kitten’s belly)! But I had on black leggings and I felt like it left behind tons of lint (kitten belly fur if we’re keeping this kitten thing going..).
Has that been your experience?
So happy to hear your dad is doing better. Sending up prayers for you and yours…
Christina McCoy says
I spelled your name wrong. I’m sorry!!! Blonde moment over here..
Sheaffer says
Oh, please! No worries, Christina! xoxo
Sheaffer says
Hi, Christina! I have several, and none of mine shed at all. Neither do any of my friend’s blardigans! However, that being said, there are some readers who complain about their blardigans shedding. I’m not sure why some shed and some don’t?!? xoxo, Sheaffer
Jeanie says
I’m glad to hear your dad is doing better. I didn’t realize he had open-heart surgery. Don’t know how I missed that. My dad had the same surgery many years ago so I know what you went through. Very happy things are looking up.
