Outfits, Decor, and Food for the 4th!

Happy Friday, y’all!

In preparation for the 4th (just 1 short week from today), my post today is dedicated to ALL THINGS FESTIVE! We’re talking food, home decor, and fashion… so get ready!

Let’s start with some NEW fashion finds!

Look at this DARLING top! The red is obviously super festive for the 4th, and it also comes in a navy blue that would also be great for the holiday weekend. If you love the top but don’t care about being festive, it also comes in pink, blush, yellow, green, black, light green, and grey. The fabric is a sturdy knit (really great quality), and the split neck and puffy ruffle sleeves are totally adorable. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. If you’re between sizes, I would suggest sizing down.

This striped cap sleeve sweater is simple, casual, and totally lightweight enough for a summer day. It comes in 13 colors, so there is something for everybody. For size reference, I sized down to a small based upon some reviews I read, but I wish I wouldn’t have. The small fits fine, but I prefer how it looks on the model (a much more relaxed fit), so I wish I would have stuck with my regular size.

Lightweight, soft, and cute as can be… this sweater is such a great closet basic. I love the stripes, and I love the colored neckline, cuffs, and hem. This is the “blue”.

So I ordered my regular size medium in this one, but I wish I would have sized up. Again, it fits just fine, but I like the look of the relaxed fit on the model…. and I think sizing up would achieve that for me.

Ladies. I cannot recommend these pajamas enough. SERIOUSLY. You need to get them. These are the “arctic paradise”, and this pattern gives a totally festive vibe. The “brilliant red” and the “really royal” are festive too, but there are tons that aren’t festive if that’s what you’re looking for.

It’s not just me that loves these pajamas. There are over 800 reviews, and the vast majority are 5 STARS. They are crazy soft, have a cute fit, and they launder perfectly! I’ve washed them countless times and they still look brand new and are still as soft as ever. And at under $18, the value is incredible. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

GRAPHIC TEES

I love a graphic tee.

Now listen, I’ve ordered more than my fair share of questionable graphic tees from Amazon in the past that have been stiff and scratchy… BUT ALL OF THESE ARE GREAT! So soft, not stiff at all, and OH SO CUTE. All of them are under $25, and some are under $15. I ordered some in a medium and some in a large, and both worked for most (although the large would be way too big for #9). I don’t like a clingy t-shirt, so I tend to size up and go for a relaxed fit.

Honestly, there’s not much I love more than a great red, white, and blue outfit.

I ordered the Loves Jesus and America Too tee (seen bottom right in picture above) before last Memorial Day, and I wore it all weekend long. I wore it this year too! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. A medium is true to size for me in a tee like this, but this one was much longer and wider than most sized mediums tee. You might want to consider sizing down, but I happen to like the really oversized look.

Over Memorial Day I wore it one day with denim shorts, and I wore it one day to the lake as my cover up because it was plenty long. Since then, I’ve slept in it countless times because it’s just so dang soft.

You definitely need to grab it for the 4th! It’s SO CUTE! The graphic says ‘Loves Jesus and America Too” (says it small on the front and in a big design on the back).

I bought the pillow/slipper sandals on a whim, and I’m glad I did. Now, be prepared for the fact that they are very chunky, but they are also very comfy. They’ve got over 50,000 5-star reviews.

This cap sleeve flag sweater is right at $20, comes in several colors, and is just as cute as can be! It also comes in a navy, white, cream, and black background. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I also wanted to show you how great the accessories are even with just a plain white tee!

This white tee has a perfectly boxy fit, and is right at $10 right now. It’s plain and simple, but when paired with the accessories you have a super fun look. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I won’t be wearing a long sleeve sweater in my neck of the woods over the summer, but if you live somewhere with cool summer nights, this could be the sweater for you. It’s very soft, super cute, and it looks much more expensive than it is! It’s under $40!!! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium for a very relaxed fit.

This ruffle sleeve blouse is adorable and comes in blue and white too. First of all, this one is a perfect red. It’s much more vibrant than in the pictures, and I love it.  The fluttery sleeves are feminine and flirty, and the lace inset and tiny ruffle on the collar are just plain cute. This USA tee is super soft and super cute. I’m wearing the blue, but it also comes in white, pink (which looks more like a heathered red), and army green. It’s a simple tee, it’s under $20, and I absolutely love it.

This eyelet top is super cute and super stretchy. Smocked up top, little flutter sleeves, and a lacy look through the body. Great all summer, but when styled with red, white, and blue – perfect for the 4th! I’m wearing a small here and it’s pretty body conscious, so I think I would prefer the fit of the medium.

I had been wanting to try a white sandal, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on them. These were the perfect option for me! They’ve got a bit of cushion on them, and I’ve walked all day in them with no problem. They come in several colors. For size reference, I sized up a 1/2.

They come in TONS of colors, metallic options, and even a blingy pair!

FOOD FOR THE 4th

I thought it would be fun to gather up some recipes that would be great for July 4th or any backyard barbecue! Some of these I’ve shared in the past, and others are ones I’ve pinned and hope to make in the future.

Do you remember years ago when I shared this Campfire Brie recipe? It was absolutely delicious and a real showstopper. Look how gorgeous it is!

Doesn’t this look like the makings of a great dish?

I stumbled upon this pasta salad recipe when browsing Pinterest one day, and it did not disappoint. It was fresh, flavorful, and pretty too! It’s a Cilantro Lime Pasta salad, and it was absolutely delicious. I’ve made it several times now, and we really loved it when I added it shrimp to it one night.

This is the base of a salad that I love to make. I typically add in tons of butter lettuce to the mix you see below, top it with croutons and whatever dressing I want, and toss it all up like a regular salad. But sometimes I even eat this combo just as a side dish (without the lettuce). This little mix is awesome on top of cottage cheese or hummus too.

What you’re looking at: cherry tomatoes, avocados, purple onion, and grilled corn cut off the cob. (I like to grill extra corn when we are having corn as a side dish, because I love adding the leftovers to salads throughout the week.) I toss this mixture with a little olive oil, red wine vinegar, and a seasoning blend that’s a mix of kosher salt, lemon pepper, garlic powder, and coarse ground pepper. I let it marinate in the fridge a bit, and it’s just so flavorful.
