and Shay and I are continuing to have SO MUCH FUN with you ladies!

So, on the 6th Day of Christmas, I decided to get back to basics.

I’ve been doing a whole lot of gift guides lately, but today I wanted to do
a classic Pinterest Told Me To recreation.
The picture below has been floating around Pinterest for way over a year.
And I’m thinking it might be one of the top pins EVER.
It’s Katie from Katie Did What.
(Maybe you remember, Katie did a guest post from me sometime last year.)
I loved the denim, the tank peeking out (way to go on “covering your crotchal” area Katie!), and the soft pink scarf.  I actually think the tank peeking out makes the outfit!  It adds such a cute layered look.   I loved the brown boots too, but I decided to pair my outfit with Hunters since I wore this outfit Saturday night when my fam broke out of the house to go grab dinner.
My sweet little town is COVERED in ice and we were going STIR CRAZY!

I liked this outfit SOOOO much…..and I was iced in for several days……

And I just don’t love the outfit……
I love the individual pieces so much that I want to talk about each of them!


***MUST HAVE LEGGINGS***
 We all know that the leggings were a MUST HAVE alert several weeks ago.
Well, it’s time to make them a Santa Alert too.
BECAUSE THEY JUST NEED TO BE.
If you have them, you understand why.
They are sooo comfortable, they look great, and they wash well.
It’s time to share the love people and get them for others for Christmas.
At $38 they are a great price point for a gift!
(And let me let you in on a little secret.  I wore them to Thanksgiving lunch with my family with a cute Anthro tunic, we drove to the ranch and saw Chris’s family that night, I changed out of my tunic into a college t-shirt and slept in them that night, and then I threw on a sweatshirt and wore them the next day.  NO LIE.  I wore them for 2 days and nights straight. )
I promise you that EVERYBODY needs AT LEAST 1 pair of these leggings.
I have the grey and the black…and I’m getting the brown for Christmas.
My mom got them for her birthday, and my sister just ordered them for herself.
GET THEM NOW for yourself AND for the girls and ladies on your list.
And then on Christmas morning you can all sit around and talk about how smart I am.  🙂

***HUNTER BOOTS***
When I first got my Hunters, I was soooo nervous about ordering them and must have gone back and forth over 30 times.  They were probably in my cart for at least a month before I took the plunge.
And listen.
Now that I have them, I cannot believe it took me so long to get them.
They are CUTE AS CAN BE, but they are also functional.
I literally don’t know what I did on really rainy days without them.

This is really and truly THE SOFTEST SCARF EVER.

And if you still haven’t jumped on the scarf bandwagon, this would be a perfect one to start with.
It’s light and airy and still has volume (but not too much).
Just wrap it around your neck twice and you’re good to go.

And I had a great idea last night!
HOW MUCH FUN would it be to not just give 1 scarf to a loved one…but 3!

So, after I copied the above look, I hit up Pinterest to see if I could provide you with some more inspiration pics.  I typed in “denim shirt with black leggings.”

And this pic popped up…..
And I was all “Hey, that’s ME!”
I clicked back to my original post, and I had put that collage together to show the first 4 outfits that I had put together with my denim shirt (that was still new at the time).
I was kind of obsessed.
Still am really.
Well, in that post (back in September of 2012), I wrote the following 
(and I felt it was worth sharing again)….
I feel like I’ve just barely scraped the tip of the denim shirt iceberg. 




I’ve got lots more denim looks in me. 




For instance, and this is just off the top of my head…..




Maybe I’ll wear it belted at the waist with a pink belt with silver
hearts, white pleated shorts that hit just above the knee, and laceless
white keds with some white and blue plaid socks scrunched down around my
ankles.






Oh wait………

Yep, I’ve been rocking denim (I believe back then we referred to it exclusively as “chambray”)




since around 1986




I think the pic above was the first day of 6th  grade.




And NOTHING says I own 6th grade like white pleated knee length shorts.

    I bought the Must Have Leggings and I just don't know if I'm sold on the awesomness of them. I've only worn them once with an oversized NFL (Giants) sweatshirt. I was comfortable but I kept pulling my sweatshirt down since I'm not used to wearing leggings. I've tried to wear them with tunics but I haven't been able to leave my house yet. Is anyone else unsure of leggings?

      I think you're probably just not used to wearing them. Or is it possible that your tops aren't long enough? I've never worn leggings before either, but I bought them about 3 weeks ago and I can't stop wearing them. Keep trying!

      I was going to say the same thing as Mary! I know the first time I wore mine out of the house I was scared….but now I have to actually make myself wear something else beside leggings! The key is to have tops that are for sure long enough so you don't worry!

    I'm LOVING that Milk and Honey necklace. Here is a fun fact about hunter boots- I'm 5'2" so the adult boots came a little too talk up on my knees. So, I purchased the kids boots (I wear a size 7 shoe). They are not as tall so are the perfect height on my legs, also there is NO DIFFERENCE between the adults an kids version EXCEPT the kids version has a little "reflection" thingy on the back. But I cover it up with my hunter sweater socks anyways. So I got the same look… for half the price. I highly recommend for any of you girls who are short and wear a smaller shoe size.
