Today’s post is one of my favorite posts each and every month. Today I’m going to share your Top 12 picks from October.
Not surprisingly, many of y’alls top picks are in my top picks for the month as well. All of the items I’m featuring today are items that I added to my own closet, and because of that, they are items that you will continue to see on the blog (as long as they are in stock). The items range in price from $14.99 to $179, so the prices are kind of all over the place.
So, what were our favorites for this month? In no particular order, let’s look and see…
1) puff shoulder blazer / 2) sweater shirt jacket ON SALE / 3) oval buckle belt / 4) faux suede hobo bag / 5) booties / 6) boatneck sweater / 7) Ethereal Glow Serum / 8) coin necklace / 9) smocked yoke blouse / 10) pleated dress pants / 11) crop boot cut jeans / 12) boot cut cords / 13) leopard barrel pants

1) puff shoulder blazer / Okay, this blazer is FABULOUS. I’m about to show it two ways. First up, with denim!
Everybody needs a classic black blazer that they love in their closet (I own this one and LOVE IT), but this brown herringbone one would be a nice addition too. It’s tailored with 1 button, tiny puff shoulders, and a rounded hem. I absolutely love the feminine fit. It’s girly and quite flattering. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I’m loving my new cognac belt too. You’re going to be seeing this in a ton of outfits (and it made the Top 12 list too)! Actually, so did the necklace and booties!

And of course I needed to show it styled for the office. I mean, who wants to hire me?!? These pants made the Top 12 as well, more on them in a minute.

2) sweater shirt jacket ON SALE / It’s a viscose fabric with a lot of stretch and give. It is a beautiful camel color and a perfect neutral piece that would be a great elevated basic for just about anybody to have in their closet. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. (I showed it in a medium when I showed it before in red, but I prefer the fit of the small as seen below.)
UPDATE: It looks like the camel is now sold out, but the red is now 68% OFF and I love it!
cardi jacket / Aliyah jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / matte gold bracelet stack

3) oval buckle belt / I’ve always loved how a belt can totally pull an outfit together. A belt can truly make all the difference in the world on the style meter for a simple sweater and jeans outfit! This belt has excellent reviews, it comes in black too, and it’s just under $50.

And a couple of outfits styled with the belt…
When I first showed this sweater it was out of stock in all sizes… but xxs, xs, and s are now available! I’m absolutely IN LOVE with these stripes. There are several solid color options that I’m loving as well like the “camel tan”, “pretty pink”, “modern red”, and “saratoga green”. And if you don’t have a basic black sweater that you love, this one would be a great option for you. It’s a medium weight with a banded hem at the bottom that can be worn tucked in or left out. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
sweater / Aliyah jeans / cognac belt / suede booties / skinny hoops / coin toggle necklace / matte gold bracelet stack

So we’ve talked about leopard being big this year. I mean, it’s always been a thing and was never out (I mean! It’s classic!), but it’s really big this year. So what better way to embrace it than with a classic crewneck sweater? This one is lightweight but warm, and it’s crazy soft. The fit is a little bit loose, so I love that it’s not form fitting but not big and boxy either. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

4) faux suede hobo bag / This suede hobo bag is very on trend. It’s a very pretty faux suede, it’s slouchy, it’s roomy, it has a magnetic snap closure, and it fits very comfortably on my shoulder (and stays put). This is the “yellowish brown”, but it also comes in “mocha brown” and black.
orange sweatshirt / non-distressed version of jeans / suede hobo bag / Steve Madden sneakers

Here it is in action…

half-button sweater / suede hobo bag / Pistola jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set (teal + red)

5) booties / Ladies. If you need a new pair of booties, I THINK THESE MIGHT BE THE BOOTIES.
They are a beautiful neutral (these are the “light neutral”), and I’m happy to have them in suede, but they do come in some leather options too. They have a sleek look, clean lines, a square toe, and a tapered block heel. I love them so much.
Comfy and true to size.

crop bootcut jeans / suede booties

And here they are in a couple of outfits…
I love that the wine and plum colors are all the rage right now, and this crossover pointelle sweater is just so pretty. This is actually called “beet red”, and it also comes in black, evening blue, and pink smoke. It’s great with a pair of denim, it would be great with a pair of nicer work pants (think black, grey, or neutral), and I think it would also be super cute with a pair of cords. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
As you can see, you can wear the banded hem out (like I’m doing on the left) or you can tuck it under (like I’m doing on the right).
crossover pointelle sweater / Pistola jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set (teal + red)

It’s a t-shirt, but it’s so much more than a t-shirt. This scalloped peplum top is DARLING. It’s a thick and substantial and soft knit up top, but the peplum hem is more of a crisp poplin. And the scallops are obviously adorable. It’s definitely an elevated tee. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It also comes in tan, navy, lavender, and dusty pink.

6) boatneck sweater / This boat neck sweater surprised me in all the best ways. I’m wearing the “heather oatmeal” here, and it really is a perfect neutral. But if you don’t need a neutral, there are 8 other gorgeous colors to choose from (and the light blue is on sale). The scallops on the neckline are beautiful, and the detail all the way down the top of the sleeves is really lovely.
It’s very lightweight and can easily be dressed up or down. I mean, I’d wear it with jeans and sneakers, but I could also wear it with a nice pair of pants and heels. As you can see on the left, it tucks in nicely. As you can see on the right, the banded hem is very flattering and looks great worn out too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. I do think it runs on the large side, so I would size down if between sizes.
boat neck sweater / Pistola jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / colorful beaded necklace / bracelet set (teal + red)

Dressing this sweater up with my favorite pleated straight leg ankle pants was a total no brainer. And the pants are NOW ON SALE!
If you’re just too scared to try the pleated pants, then grab these flat front wide leg pants. They’re also from Wit and Wisdom and they’re awesome too.
boat neck sweater / pleated straight leg pants / black pumps / hoops / coin toggle necklace / matte gold bracelet stack

You can also dress it down with sneakers.
This outfit is an easy formula to follow, and it’s one that will be on repeat for sure.
neutral sweater / must have straight leg ankle jeans / suede hobo bag / sneakers / beaded hoop earrings / charm necklace / lip gloss / bracelet trio / gold bracelet

And for a different look here, all I did was switch out the regular denim with my favorite faded black denim.
neutral sweater / faded black jeans / suede hobo bag / sneakers / beaded hoop earrings / charm necklace / lip gloss / bracelet trio / gold bracelet

I’ve shown you a neutral version of this boatneck sweater several times already (in “heather oatmeal”), and I liked it so much I was compelled to buy it in the “coral punch” too. But I would definitely describe this sweater as red (and not coral), which is great because I love red.

7) Ethereal Glow Serum / This just might be my favorite new PRODUCT of the entire year. YEP. THE ENTIRE YEAR. This Ethereal Glow Serum is truly incredible. You pretty much have to try it. You’re going to just have to trust me.
And you can use the code STMT20 for 20% OFF, making it right at just $30. And $30 for “skincare packed radiance” sounds like a straight up bargain to me.

It will give you an instant, soft-focus glow. It’s like a filter in a tube, friends! TRULY!

As you can see, it’s available in two universally flattering shades. Both are designed to complement a wide range of skin topes and styles.
The CHAMPAGNE is the lighter shade and gives a soft and radiant glow.
And below you can see BRONZE – for a warm, sun-kissed effect.
I use the “bronze” shade and mix it with my Lumi Glotion (shade medium) every single day. This combo is what I use now instead of traditional foundation. My skin looks radiant and healthy, and it’s not heavy at all like I find so many traditional foundations to be. This combo makes my skin look great and gives me so much confidence.

8) coin necklace / This necklace is ONLY $15 and it is FABULOUS.
Here it is in several different outfits…
This sweater has 47 reviews, and it has an average 4.5 star rating, so I’m not the only one that loves this sweater. It’s a medium weight, it’s super soft, and perfectly slouchy. I went with my regular size medium and it’s very roomy, but I think if I sized down it would be shorter than I would like. Even though it’s roomy, the banded hem at the bottom helps it remain flattering.
striped sweater / crop bootcut jeans / sneakers / glasses / hoops / coin toggle necklace / matte gold bracelet stack

This floral blouse is ohhhhh sooooo fall. The colors are deep and moody, and the floral pattern is lovely. Head to the site and zoom in on the blouse to see all of the pretty details like the pintuck pleats across the front, the tiny ruffled collar, the velvet tie, and the wide elastic cuffs. I’m completely smitten with this blouse. It drapes beautifully and is quite roomy, so you might consider sizing down. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium below, but I think a small might be better.
These Aliyah jeans are amazing too. They are stretchy, comfy, flattering as all get out, and what I consider to be a perfect straight leg option. I know that wide leg jeans and barrel jeans are all the rage right now, but I have to say, I still find a nice straight leg jean to be the most figure flattering by far. These are a mid to high rise with a frayed hem. I like the length with these booties, but I might actually cut a bit of length off so they will show a little ankle on me when wearing sneakers or flats. For size reference, I find them to be true to size. I’m wearing a 27.
floral blouse / Aliyah jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / coin toggle necklace / matte gold bracelet stack

We’ve talked about leopard being big this year.
These ankle flare cords have a perfect amount of stretch in them to make them both comfy and flattering (while not stretching out too much during the day). The length makes them great for booties, fashion sneakers, mules, flats, and Mary Jane’s. The color you see below is called “Rosemary”, but I just think of them as a really pretty neutral. I’m wearing my regular size 4.
leopard sweater / ankle flare cords / suede booties / hoops / coin toggle necklace / matte gold bracelet stack

This crewneck sweater is an awesome closet staple. It’s soft, oversized and roomy, and just a really great basic. If you prefer a fitted sweater, this sweater ain’t it. But if you love cozy and oversized, look no further. I would suggest sizing down 1 because of how roomy it is. I’m in a medium right here, but it was actually quite wide, so I want to exchange it for a small. Sadly it looks like this pink is no longer available, but there are other colors available including a “deep pomegranate” that is oh so fall.

9) smocked yoke blouse / This smocked yoke blouse is GORGEOUS. I love it with this regular denim, I’ll love it with black denim, and I’ll definitely be wearing it with my one of my favorite pair of stretchy black pants as well. Paired with black pants, you’ll have a perfect look for the office. For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the blouse.
And get this! You also have the option to grab a matching skirt. It’s not a look that I’m sure if I could pull off or not, but I do like it!
smocked yoke blouse / Pistola jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set (teal + red)

So this is the same blouse as above, but in a different pattern and colorway. This is the “green gables blooming”, but I think of it as a beautiful blue much more than I do a green. I’m wearing a medium in this one, and it’s very roomy, so I definitely prefer the fit of the small (that you see in the picture directly above).
smocked yoke top / Aliyah jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set

10) pleated dress pants / The fact that I’m LOVING some pants from Wit and Wisdom should come as no surprise to any of you. HOWEVER, these pants are pleated, so I was not expecting to love them at all. Because of the pleats, I didn’t think they were going to work on my body (since my tummy is my problem area). WELL, I was wrong! They are crazy comfy and quite flattering! They are a substantial ponte like fabric, but they’re a medium weight and not too heavy at all. They are crazy super soft and stretchy, but they keep their shape throughout the day. They’ve got a double bar and hook closure with a hidden button and a functional zipper, but I’m telling you, you can just pull these on if you want to! Yes, they have that much give. Most size down in these, but I’m wearing my regular size 4.
This tie neck chiffon blouse is $39.99 and fabulous. It is sheer, so you definitely need to wear a cami under (click HERE for the one I’m wearing). The blouse is smart and totally chic. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium in the blouse and the cami.
tie neck chiffon blouse / pleated straight leg pants / black pumps / hoops / matte gold bracelet stack

This pearl detail sweater is really chic and totally unexpected (in the best way). The pearls and rhinestones on the collar instantly elevate the look and make the sweater feel really special. It is more fitted than I typically like, but I think it works with this sweater since it definitely leans dressy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
pearl detail sweater / pleated straight leg pants / black pumps / hoops / matte gold bracelet stack

This blouse is swingy and fun. I did try both a black cami and a nude cami under it, and I definitely prefer the black cami (that I’m wearing in this picture). Click HERE for the cami I grabbed. It’s got some compression in it, so it holds you in in all the right places.

11) crop boot cut jeans / These crop bootcut jeans are new to me. I grabbed them because of the cropped fit and because I thought the detailing at the bottom was so cute. This is my first time buying (or even trying) Good American jeans, and I can now officially say that I’m a fan. They’re a very soft denim with great stretch, so they hug your curves in all the right places. The seams on each side of the bottom of each leg are my favorite part. It’s such a nice detail, and they really modernize the whole look.
FRIENDS. I’m always drawn to fair isle sweaters. WELL. This one is EXTRA DARLING. The colors! The pattern! The fit! The soft feel! I love it all! And I’m totally swooning over how bright and happy it is.
It’s definitely more on the fitted side, which I’m not normally a fan of in a sweater, but I actually love this fit. Pay special attention to the ribbed crew neck, the ribbed wide hem, and the oversized ribbed cuffs. They all come together to make the sweater quite flattering. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It’s size inclusive ranging from size xs to 4x. And get ready to be blown away by the price!!!

This layered zig zag sweater is super cute! It also comes in a neutral color with an orange zig zag that’s great. Just like the leopard version, the tee is attached to the sweater vest so it creates a clean look, but it can be taken apart by just unbuttoning it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. I would say that the vest is definitely fitted, so size up if you want a more oversized look.

*****
12) boot cut cords / These corduroy boot cut pants are 100% fabulous. I’m wearing the “camel” here, but they come in 9 colors, so of course I’m tempted to grab a 2nd color. They’re super soft, they have a great amount of stretch in them so they’re both comfy and flattering, and I love having a non-denim option in my closet for fall. Please pay attention to how long my legs look. I’m only 5’4″, so it’s definitely an illusion. #magiccords (And I have to say, these suede booties are pretty much a perfect match. If you pair these booties with these cords your legs will go on for dayzzzzzzz.)

I love that the wine and plum colors are all the rage right now, and this crossover pointelle sweater is just so pretty. This is actually called “beet red”, and it also comes in black, evening blue, and pink smoke. I’ve already shown this sweater with ankle denim, boot cut denim, and pleated black pants and it looks great with all of them. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium in the sweater.

actually didn’t know if I was going to like it with these cords, BUT I LOVE THIS LOOK. I feel like the outfit is like effortlessly stylish and chic.
layered zig zag sweater / corduroy boot cut / suede booties / chunky hoop earrings / coin toggle necklace / matte gold bracelet stack

Sadly, there are only larges left in this sweater, but you can luckily find 2 other color options with better stock HERE! WooHoo!
My favorite is the chocolate brown with a blush pink, soft blue, and cream floral pattern. There’s also a taupe option with blue, gold, and cream accents. There’s just something about a zip-up and stand-up collar like this one that always has me feeling put together. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
half zip sweater (different colors with better stock HERE) / corduroy boot cut / suede booties / hoops / coin toggle necklace / matte gold bracelet stack

Initially I told you with great certainty that this raglan sleeve sweater was going to be on constant rotation for me this fall. WELL I WAS RIGHT. I LOVE IT. It’s incredibly soft and cozy. It’s a wool/cashmere blend, but it is not itchy AT ALL, so don’t let the wool blend scare you because I don’t do itchy sweaters. I’m wearing this fabulous camel and pink stripe combo, but it also comes in a black and white stripe combo as well as in several solid colors. I like the ribbed collar and sleeves, the banded and ribbed hem, and the exposed seams on the shoulders are a nice touch. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
The price is high, but I personally believe this sweater is worth it. I also like that it’s thin enough that it can easily be worn under a close-fitting jacket. And it’s nice enough to be dress up for the office.
raglan sleeve sweater / corduroy boot cut / suede booties / hoops / coin toggle necklace / matte gold bracelet stack

The floral smocked blouse is GORGEOUS. It is sheer throughout the body and sleeves, so I suggest wearing a cami under it. The colors and the details (the smocking, the ruffle cuffs) are absolutely stunning. Head to the website for an up-close look at the details. For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the blouse. (I originally ordered a medium, but there was way too much fabric, so I suggest sizing down).

13) leopard barrel pants / These leopard barrel jeans are a bit out of my comfort zone, but I’m going for it! I mean, I feel like I need to be pushed out of my comfort zone on occasion, and these are gonna be the pants to do it. I feel like a cool mom in them.
The reviews on these are awesome. They’ve got a cropped fit and kind of a subtle barrel fit, so I think they manage to still be flattering. Barrel jeans are so on trend, but even though I’ve tried several regular denim ones, I haven’t found any I liked on me (because I found all of them to add bulk). And come on, who in the world wants to add bulk? BUT THEN I TRIED THESE, and I can totally get on board.
They’ve got a little bit of stretch in them (which I pretty much require these days), so I’m wearing my regular size 4.
Other pros: they don’t seem to wrinkle and you’re going to get a ton of compliments when you wear these babies.
puff sleeve sweater / leopard barrel jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set

And here they are with the half-button sweater. I’m wearing a medium, and it’s a relaxed fit.
half-button sweater / leopard barrel jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set

I thought it would be fun to show a couple of different ways to style them (to show their versatility)…
Here’s how they would look with a black sweater and sleek booties…
black boatneck sweater / leopard barrel jeans / earrings / necklace / woven bag / TB booties / bangle set / lip velvet liquid lipstick

And I think this is a super fun look with the rust sweater and sneaks…
* Heads up about the gold bangle set seen below. I ordered them for myself, but they fell right off of my wrists. If you have smaller wrists, these aren’t going to work for you. If you need a larger bangle, you’re going to love these!

MY PERSONAL FAVORITE FINDS FROM OCTOBER THAT DIDN’T MAKE IT TO Y’ALLS TOP, BUT THAT I LOVE!
This cable sweater is simple, classic, and a perfect basic. Online it’s called “sky gray”, a reviewer said she thought of it as more of a light green, but to be honest I would describe it as a light grey blue. WHATEVER COLOR IT IS, it’s pretty!
It’s 100% cotton, a medium weight, and has a bit of stretch. I would say it’s more fitted than boxy. If it came in cream, I would definitely be grabbing it in cream too. It’s a beautiful sweater. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
cable sweater / Pistola jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / colorful beaded necklace / bracelet set (teal + red)

I saw an influencer talking about these Steve Madden sneakers, I immediately hopped on Amazon and ordered them for myself, and they arrived in 2 days. I LOVE THEM. They are going to be a great sneaker for denim and sweaters all fall long. True to size and very comfy. These are the “tan multi”, but they come in a variety of colors! I also really love the green multi and the leopard.
non-distressed version of jeans / Steve Madden sneakers

I liked this dress so much I wore it to my high school reunion! It’s a beautiful fall floral, and I think the colors are absolutely gorgeous. I’m really loving plums and wines this season. As you can see, it has the same feminine details as the chambray dress above. The site says this dress is 100% cotton too, but I totally thought it was a thin corduroy. I mean, it totally has the texture of a thin corduroy, and that’s 100% how I would describe it. I’m wearing a petite small here (I’m 5’4″), but I ended up exchanging it for the regular small for a bit of extra length.
Also, just to be on the safe side, I bought these boy shorts to wear under it. The last thing I wanted was a wardrobe malfunction at my high school reunion. 😉
dress / heart toggle necklace / skinny hoop earrings / bracelet set / knee high boots

Okay, ladies. I KNOW ME, and I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that this sweatshirt would be one of my favorite and most worn shirts of the season. Is it flashy? No. Is it a great basic that happens to be flattering that I knew I would reach for all the time? 1,000% YES.
As soon as I tried it on, I hopped on and ordered the “cherry tomato” too. It also comes in black. The cherry tomato was on backorder and isn’t supposed to arrive until next week, but I can’t wait. This sweatshirt is soft, it’s cozy, and it’s cute. And while it is a sweatshirt, it is totally elevated with the slightly puffed sleeves (but they’re not aggressive at all) and the banded hem. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. And I’m not the only one that loves it, it has excellent reviews. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
sweatshirt / patch pocket jeans / sneakers / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace

And in case you aren’t a fan of the patch pocket jeans, I wanted to show it to you with one of my current favorite pairs of straight leg jeans. I think it looks awesome with this pair.
It’s a simple look, but it’s classic, and I think it’s so cute!
sweatshirt / Aliyah jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set

This lace peplum blouse was what I wore to the first night of the reunion, and I felt cute and comfortable in it. It has 40 reviews, and the great majority are 5 STARS. Y’all know I often adore a little peplum hem, and this one is definitely worthy of my adoration with the lacy material and subtle scallop hem. The sleeves have a bit of volume (but just a bit), and the lace is gorgeous. I did wear a neutral cami under it, and it was perfect. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I obviously liked the casual look with denim, but this baby could easily be dressed up tons of different ways. It’s a really great top, and I’m so happy to have it in my closet! I think it will be great with one of my favorite pair of stretchy black pants, and it would also look great under a blazer.
lace peplum blouse / suede hobo bag / Aliyah jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set

ON SALE RIGHT NOW…
Because I’m apparently really digging the Western vibes these days, check out this plaid button up that kinda makes me wanna say yee-haw! 😉 This one also has excellent reviews. It’s 99% cotton and 1% elastane. I don’t know how that 1% makes a difference, but it totally does. It’s got a perfect little bit of stretch to it that I really appreciate in a button down. These sleeves are part ruffle and part puff, but totally darling. (You can see an up close and detailed shot of the sleeve on the site, and you can see it actually looks a little tailored. It’s realllly cute.) I’m in love with this shirt. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium and liked the fit. Some reported they sized down, but the buttons at the chest definitely would have pulled if I had of sized down.

That’s all for today! So I’m curious, do you have any of the above pieces and did they become favorites for you? Sound off in the comments!
