Well, we are now several weeks into the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale…and believe it or not, I’m still finding some real gems! I actually went to the mall on Wednesday and was surprised to see items I hadn’t seen in store previously. Apparently my store got a big shipment on Tuesday, so it was great fun for me to pick through all of the new racks!
I wanted to share some of my new finds with you today!
Let’s start with this adorable lounge set. It’s crazy comfy, covered in hearts, and DARLING.
Both pieces are under $25.
I do need to give a heads up though. At first glance, it looks like they have great reviews, but when I was grabbing the links for the post, it appears that there are quite a few reviews saying they don’t hold up well in the wash. I’m so sad because they are sooooo flipping cute and cozy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium in the top and and a small in the joggers.
School is just around the corner, and although we’ve been looking a lot online, Carter hadn’t found any shoes that he liked that we agreed on. I had somehow missed these online (I think because it looks like they are for little kids, but when you click on them, larger sizes appear too). Well, I saw them in store, sent him a picture, and he was like YESSSSSSS! I grabbed them so fast! He also got these Adidas sneakers in black and white, even though they aren’t in the sale. So happy to have Carter’s back to school shoes crossed off my TO DO list.
I wasn’t sure what to call this little thing I’m wearing, but apparently it’s called a cape scarf, so we are going to go with that. It’s lightweight, but it still manages to give a great layer of warmth. Although let’s be honest, photographing this yesterday in 100 degree heat was LESS THAN IDEAL. Haha!
It’s got pinstripes across the bodice and a windowpane pattern on the sleeves, which gives it interest and makes it fun. It’s a one size fits all piece and it’s just under $35, so it would make a great gift.
I think the olive color looks great styled with the grey jeans, but it would of course look awesome with regular denim as well.
I’m thinking this will be a great piece to wrap up in for an outdoor fall event, like a football game!
This tee is quite a bit thinner than I was expecting, so although a great layering piece, I wouldn’t ever recommend wearing it on it’s own.
Now let’s talk about the grey jeans! You’ll be happy to know that they are from our beloved Wit and Wisdom and STILL IN STOCK!
First of all, I love having grey denim in my closet for fall and winter. I think it looks great styled with lots of different colors (black, white, red, olive, blush, and camel just to name a few), and it’s just nice to have denim options.
I’m almost 5’4″ (with long legs for my height), and wearing the regular size 4 here. As you can see on the site, they are much shorter on the model, but I definitely prefer them this length. I wouldn’t mind them a tiny bit shorter, but I definitely don’t like them as short as they are on the site. I think the petites would be way too short on me in this particular pair of jeans.
And come on! Look how great the hem is! It’s frayed and has a pretty severe step that gives them so much style.
These booties are no longer available in this neutral color, but they are still available in grey and snakeskin! I love the pointy toe, the block heel, and the deep cut out (so flattering). And y’all know I wouldn’t get them if they weren’t comfy!!! They also have a zipper up the back to make putting them on and taking them off so easy. True to size for me.
This cross body bag is a great size and a wonderful neutral color.
COME! ON! FALL!
For this next outfit, I wanted to style the grey jeans a bit more casually with some wedge sneakers and a basic crew neck sweater.
The sweater is lightweight and super soft. The sleeves are designed to be a little voluminous near the cuff, but I didn’t realize that, so I just cuffed them when styling the outfit. I love a basic sweater like this that looks great styled casually with sneaks, but would also look great dressed up a bit with boots or booties. I’m wearing a small.
These wedge sneakers have a great sporty look, and I’m a fan. They actually have laces that are meant to be tied, but I stuck the laces inside because I felt like they were a distraction and looked a little sloppy. I plan on cutting the laces off very short and tying them off (to make them look like Golden Goose laces). They are true to size for me. (fyi: I walked thru grass after the sprinklers had just gone off, which accounts for the wet toe area.)
My silk Madewell bandana is sold out, but there’s got a great bandana 3 pack in the Anniversary Sale!
Just an easy fall and winter look. I always love blush and grey paired together.
Y’ALL! I feel so silly, but until yesterday I didn’t realize that this long sleeve tee I’m wearing here is IN THE SALE. The leggings and jacket are too, but I already knew that.
When you take this whole outfit into consideration, I seriously don’t know how I could get more comfy.
This cozy wrap jacket is straight up fabulous and I’m SO EXCITED that it’s back in stock in the medium charcoal. And you can also find the plus size jacket still in stock HERE. It’s got a funnel neck collar, snap closure, and a super cozy fleece lining. Since it was super windy, I really appreciated the additional length on this jacket. It kept me nice and warm. I think the relaxed styling is a lot of fun and I definitely found myself wrapping up in it. For size reference, I’m in an extra small, so it runs quite large. I would definitely recommend sizing down a size (or maybe even 2).
This long sleeve tee is incredibly soft, which is what matters to me. For those of you that are actually working out in it, it’s made of breathable and sweat wicking fabric that will keep you cool during a work out! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. As soon as I realized this tee was in the sale, I decided to grab another color!
So I know if you read this blog even semi regularly, you’ve definitely heard me screaming and shouting about these leggings since November.
I can’t help it. I ADORE them. And I’ve basically made it my personal mission to convince everybody to try them for themselves. #dramaticbuttrue
They are high waisted like the Zella high waisted live in leggings we all know and love. But get this, the waistband is a soft ribbed material. They don’t have as much compression as the original leggings, which actually makes them even more comfortable! And I’ll take comfort over compression every day of the week. #andtwiceonSunday
In addition to the cute pockets and the awesome ribbed waistband, there are also cute little bands at the bottom. So they have jogger styling, but they fit like leggings. They’re awesome.
Also. THEY ARE SO SOFT. Like reallllllllllly REALLY soft.
And I’m telling you, the fit is adorable.
These are the “black”, but I think they are more of a really dark charcoal grey. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. I’ve heard that some people are sizing down in these, but I like the fit of my regular size.
My sneakers are from last year, but you can click HERE for a similar looking pair in the sale this year.
OTHER ITEMS STILL IN STOCK
The baby blardigan is the shortest of all the blardigans, it has a rounded hem, and it has pockets. I wear it both in and out of the house and it seriously still brings a smile to my face each time I put it on even though I’ve been putting one on for like 7 years now. When I’m wearing it, I’m living my best life. The x-small/small is the size I prefer, but the next size up is a more relaxed fit with some extra length as well (which others prefer). The arms are fitted, which is what allows it to be worn out of the house (and not just look like lounge wear), so consider sizing up if you prefer extra room in your arms.
Click HERE for the baby blardigan. If you’re new here, I named it a blardigan many moons ago because it’s part blanket and part cardigan. It’s seriously the most cozy thing you will ever put on your body. And it makes an EXCELLENT gift for mothers, mother in laws, sisters, sister in laws, grandmas, best friends, and/or anybody that’s going through a hard time. I say it’s like gifting a hug.
Click HERE for all graphic tees in the anniversary sale.
And check out just how fabulous the Tory Burch tote is. It’s big, but not too big, and it’s perfectly neutral.
The hooded sweatshirt is comfy, slouchy (without being sloppy), and really warm! It’s got a hood and a kangaroo pocket. I got a medium for the bit of extra length (since I’m styling with leggings). The arms a little long with the medium, but I’ll just cuff them. I got the blue veil for myself. And get this, the sweatshirt is just under $30.
This mixed media fleece jacket is crazy warm and super adorable. I liked it online, but when I saw it in person, I realized the zipper is a cute contrasting Kelly green! It’s lined with a t-shirt material, so it’s very soft on the inside. This jacket is great with jeans, but it will also be great with athleisure. When zipped, the collar stands up on it’s own (which I love). You gotta love a stand up collar.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
I first purchased THIS BRA several years ago during the sale, and it’s become a tradition to get a new one every year. It’s expensive when not on sale ($72), but I have found that it’s SO WORTH the money. Grabbing it at the sale price at $47.90 is a no brainer. I named it a MUST HAVE several years ago, and I know so many of you are believers now too! If you doubt me, just check out the online reviews. The cups are perfectly rounded, it has just the right amount of lining, and the material is oh so comfy. And look how pretty the straps are! True to size for me.
I discovered the THESE UNDIES 4 years ago during the sale, and now they have a cult following. (They are called “girl briefs”, but they are definitely for women.) They stay in place without digging into the skin, rolling down, etc. Plus, they are pretty with the lace detailing. And I’m telling you, you can barely even tell you have them on! I wear a small, so they are true to size for me. I initially bought 1 pair to try several years ago, and then I immediately hopped on and purchased 3 more. Since my initial purchase, I’ve probably purchased 20 additional pair. When I found myself sad when they were all in the laundry, I started grabbing several pair every time they were on sale. Life’s too short to wear undies that you don’t love. You can quote me on that.
I get sooooo many comments from readers that say that they stock up on these every single year as well!
OH…and very important…I DO NOT HAND WASH THESE UNDIES! Who in the world would do that? I just wash them with everything else!!! AND, if you are a Hanky Panky devotee, don’t you worry! My favorite regular rise thongs can be found HERE.
OH! AND CHECK THIS OUT! The strapless bra that I’ve been raving about for 6 years now (and have turned so many of y’all onto) is NOW IN THE SALE! My friend Meagan finally bought one last year, and she kept texting me about it saying things like “My saggy boobies have been perfectly happy and supported since 7 a.m. They feel confident again!” And days later “I’ve decided I only want to wear the strapless bra. Always.” YEP, THAT’S RIGHT. So many of us wear this strapless EVEN WHEN WE DON’T HAVE TO WEAR A STRAPLESS. That’s pretty much unheard of, y’all! Sizing tips: Some buy their regular size, and some size up in the band or the cup.
Click HERE for this strapless. Even if you are large chested, you need to try this bra. And you see it also comes with detachable straps. You can wear them straight, you can criss cross them in the back, or you can of course take them off all together.
Every single year I grab this NEST diffuser set for myself. The grapefruit diffuser goes in my closet and the bamboo diffuser goes in the dining room. They smell absolutely divine.
I would suggest sizing up a 1/2.
So, I went to the mall thinking I was going to grab these knit booties, and I still might. However, since they weren’t in stock at my store, I tried these buckle booties instead. I like them a lot, I just want to try on the knit booties before I make my decision!
The buckle booties are true to size for me.
I was so excited to see this rolling spinner suitcase in the sale this year. I got a Calpak carry on from Nordstrom last year when they had a leopard one that randomly went on sale, and I’ve been SO HAPPY with it! Mine has a zipper close on each side, and it looks like this one only has a zipper close on 1 side, but that seems to be the only difference (besides the pattern). This is such a great price for under $100!
Click HERE for all luggage in the sale.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times….this blanket is one of THE BEST VALUES OF THE ENTIRE SALE.
IT’S ON SALE for ONLY $24.90 y’all, it’s soft as all get out, it looks pretty (I love the fringe!), and it launders great. Buy SEVERAL for your own home (just to keep your family from fighting over it), and then buy them as gifts too. THIS BLANKET IS AMAZING. PRO TIP: For some reason, 2 colors on the link aren’t showing up as the sale price, so make sure you click around to find the ones that are actually reduced to $24.90!
Throw one over the back of your couch, throw one on the foot of your bed, and pile them up in a great basket. You’re going to want to have plenty on hand or your family will fight over them. I’m not even kidding.
Click HERE for the throw. It makes a FANTASTIC Christmas present for anybody on your list. Seriously, ANYBODY and EVERYBODY. It’s also a great graduation present. STOCK UP ON THESE BABIES.
Oh, and they launder perfectly and don’t lose any of their softness.
I asked people on Facebook how many they had purchased, and several people had purchased over 8. There were even a couple of ladies that had purchased 18 over the years for themselves and gifts! It also comes in an oversized throw HERE.
That’s all for today, Ladies! I hope you found some NEW gems like I did!
