Today’s post is dedicated to highlighting products that I found have made the most difference for my skin in the winter. And lucky y’all, they are all 25% OFF today! Colleen Rothschild, is having her FRIENDS AND FAMILY SALE! EVERYTHING is 25% OFF with the code FRIENDS25! AND you get free FREE 2-day shipping with orders of $125. If memory serves, this is the best site wide sale they ever do, so it is time to stock up!
Today I’m going to focus on a handful of products from the line, my WINTER SKIN CARE ESSENTIALS.
These first two products are the two products I can’t live without. But they aren’t just my ride or dies just in the winter, I use them consistently throughout the entire year.
Cleansing Balm / Glycolic Acid Peel Pads
Out of all of the products in the Colleen Rothschild line, the Cleansing Balm is my favorite product by far. It totally changes the taking off your makeup game, and I’m telling you, you won’t even dread washing your face at night. I KNOW. That’s a big claim, but I stand behind it.
This balm truly has a cult following. For those of you that haven’t tried it yet, it’s different than any other cleanser I’ve ever used. First of all, I apply it to a dry face. I scoop out a small amount of the balm with dry hands and slather it on to my dry face. As I rub it on my face, the heat from my hands changes the balm into more of an oily texture and it just feels incredibly luxurious. It melts my makeup away, leaves my skin feeling amazing and hydrated, and the light citrus smell is PERFECT.
And listen, if you’re concerned about the price, don’t be. This jumbo tub will last most people around 9 months! And with the 25% OFF sale going on, that comes out to under $8 per month. And $8 per month for luxury skin care seems like an absolute bargain to me.
After cleansing my face, I use the peel pads. I’ve been using the Glycolic Acid Peel Pads for a couple of years now, and I absolutely swear by them. After adding them to my weekly routine years ago, I’ve never looked back.
So, what are they? Remember the Stridex pads we all used as teenagers? Well, these are the new and much improved version! While the Stridex pads were salicylic acid and more of an acne treatment, the CR pads are glycolic and lactic acid, both used for cell turnover.
We’re talking a spa-strength treatment formula that helps to help dissolve skin-clogging dirt and debris. And listen to this… your skin’s natural renewal process will be enhanced as a result of the 10 percent blend of The Glycolic and Lactic Acids in the pads. They target fine lines, hyperpigmentation and imperfections and will reveal a fresher, brighter, more even complexion. YES, PLEASE!
I’m ALL ABOUT brighter skin and these pads really deliver. They are large, so I sweep the pad all over my face, neck, and chest. There are 60 pads per order, and I’m only using one of these every several days, so they should last between 2-3 months.
These next two products are part of my winter skin arsenal.
The Intense Hydrating Mask is an easy answer for skin that needs extra hydration. You apply it at night and let it sink in while you sleep. It gives a boost of highly concentrated hydration to tight, dry, rough or dehydrated skin. This treatment helps strengthen elasticity, leaving skin with a youthful suppleness and radiance. Just read the reviews if you want to know more. The reviews are fantastic.
Intense Hydrating Mask / Micro Mineral Resurfacing Scrub
The Micro Mineral Resurfacing Scrub is my very favorite mask to use, especially during the winter months. Whenever my skin is feeling dull or lackluster, I use this scrub to wake up my face and really brighten it right on up. After using it, my skin is SO SOFT and it truly does look healthier and more glowy. It refines texture, helps reduce clogged pores and brightens dull complexions by buffing away dead skin cells using the power of ultra-fine crystals.
I don’t like to spend a lot of time or money on expensive spa treatments, but this scrub is like an at home alternative to professional microdermabrasian treatment.
Do you see the rose quartz pieces below? When I rub the scrub on my face, it feels like very very fine sand. It gently (but efficiently!) exfoliates and reveals newer and fresher skin.
IT’S AN INCREDIBLE PRODUCT.
The Face Oil #9 used to be too much for my skin, but now I can’t imagine it not being a part of my nightly routine. Colleen touts it as the ultimate in skin luxury, and I have to agree. It improves radiance. RADIANCE! Who doesn’t want to increase their radiance?!?
I put 1 full pump in my hand with the Extreme Recovery Cream (also seen below) and apply it all over my face and neck. It hydrates and plumps like nothing else I’ve ever used. The Extreme Recovery Cream is thick, rich, and ultra-creamy. My skin absolutely drinks this special little cocktail up.
And I’m not the only one that swears by it in my family. My mom and sister do as well. Actually, they are both devoted users of many products in the line. My mom did a full review of her favorite products awhile back, and you can click HERE to read all of her thoughts. She’s added in new products since then, but it’s a comprehensive review of her routine at the time. My mom is in her mid 70s and looks AMAZING, so copying her skincare routine wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
It’s not just my face that needs extra moisture during the winter months, the skin on my body also needs extra attention. This Honey Vanilla Creamy Body Wash is so luxurious and is such a treat for my dry (and sometimes so dry it’s itchy!) skin. I’ve never been one that slathers on a lot of body lotion (I don’t love the way it feels), but I really love a super moisturizing creamy oil body wash. This body wash is incredibly hydrating and smells DIVINE. Really, it is such a treat.
These products have all improved my skin. My winter skin NEEDS them. They are a perfect way to implement some self-care during the cold winter months, and the results you see are going to knock your socks off.
A couple of Colleen’s hair care products are also at the tip top of my winter care routine, but sadly they are sold out right now. When they come back in stock, I’ll be sure to let you know because the Quench and Shine Restorative Mask (a conditioning balm for your hair) and the Smooth and Shine Hair Serum are must haves for my hair.
Also, although not a Colleen product, I have to mention my Laneige lip masks. I keep one in my purse, I keep one in my bathroom next to my other skincare, and I keep one on my bedside table. I use the lip masks EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. I travel with them, and my lips are smooth and soft as a direct result of the masks.
If you are a devoted user of Colleen’s products, what is your holy grail product? Sound off in the comments! Is there a specific product that you cannot live without that you feel has really changed your skin? I’m also curious to know if you are a loyal user, how many other people have you introduced Colleen to? I’ve heard it time and time again. Colleen’s products inspire people who love them to share their love of the products with their friends and family. Hey, I get it. It’s what I do. My “About Me” page says I have a passion for sharing what I love with others, and Colleen’s products are at the top of my LOVE list!

I’ve never heard about the body wash before! That sounds great!
I started using her products when you introduced them on your blog! Love the cleansing balm and have been waiting for this sale to replenish the pads!
Thanks to you, I’ve been wearing Colleen Rothschild for about 5 years now. My favorites are the balm, the pads, the eye cream, and the vitamin C serum. You’ve convinced me to try the face oil today!
My ride or dies are growing in number. I can’t live without the balm, the pads, the mandelic serum, the retinol, or the vitamin c. I’ve been wanting to try the hair stuff, but it’s been sold out for a bit now. Ordering the face oil and night cream today.
Tracy Ford says
Thanks to you, I’m loving the balm. Have been wanting to try other products in the future.
Kristen K. says
Thanks to you, I have been using this brand for over a year. It has made such a difference. People often stop and ask me what skincare I use. My skin in my 50s looks better than it did in my 30s because of Colleen. Now my 25 year old daughter is using it too!
Iman Brady says
My ride or dies are the balm, pads, mandelic acid, the evening cocktail you do too! I’m going to give the body wash a go now, can’t wait!
I can’t live without the cleansing balm and the peel pads. I’m going to try some new things today!
Rachel Pape says
I just started using these products about 3 weeks ago and am certainly going to take full advantage of this sale and stock up!
Leah Crouse says
I haven’t tried it yet, but would LOVE to try the glycolic acid peel pads!!
Lindsey Hayes says
I LOVE the cleansing balm, but I’m thinking I need to add the extreme recovery cream and face oil #9 now that it’s been so cold and my skin is so dry!
I love the cleansing balm & the detox mask. I am interested in trying the body wash & the resurfacing scrub. I’m heading off to check out the site now!
Emily Thompson says
My favorite products include the cleansing balm, the extreme recovery cream and the vitamin C. But to be honest I haven’t found a product I didn’t love. Next on my list to try are the pads!
Alison Althouse says
I absolutely LOVE the cleansing balm…. I use a TINY amount on my Foreo silicone facial cleansing device and it takes off ALL my makeup on the first pass! I can’t imagine going to bed now without washing my face… and my skin has never felt or looked better. Love Colleen Rothschild products!
I use the exact same nightly routine #because you told me too! I’ve seen a huge difference in my skin. I’m the morning I use the Balance Gel Cleanser and Sheer Renewal Cream.
Karen P says
I’ve only used the cleansing balm, but now I want to try them all!
The cleansing balm is amazing, especially in the winter. I dread splashing water on my face when it is cold, so the fact that this starts with dry skin and ends with a nice hot damp towel on my face to remove is perfect!
You got me hooked on the cleansing balm can’t live without it! Now my sister too! Always have a spare in stock!
I am a fairly new fan. I love so many of her products but CANNOT run out of the cleansing balm! It’s feels and smells like a spa day!
I bought the scrub 2 years ago after reading about it. I then bought the discovery kit and have since gotten the full size charcoal mask, the scrub, and just bought the face pads after reading about them here. I love all of the products I have gotten and am so glad I purchased them. I think they have made my face feel so smooth and brighter looking. I forgot I also have the extreme recovery cream so I guess you could say you have turned me into a loyal user!
I’ve been using her products for about a year now and my skin has definitely transformed for the better! My skin used to be oily and prone to acne. Since starting with the cleansing balm, vitamin C cream, sheer renewal cream and extreme recovery cream. I’ll be adding the intense hydration mask and micro mineral resurfacing.

Thank you for introducing me to Colleen Rothschild! I’ve been using her products for a few years now and I live in NM where it’s super dry.
I love the cleansing balm, extreme recovery cream, face oil #9, and retinol eye cream. When I go to my facial esthetician she no longer tells me how dry my skin is!
Cleansing balm, of course! I look forward to cleaning my face every night with that magical product. And, the face oil… a MUST HAVE in the winter. And, the extreme recovery cream… every day before makeup. All of her products are fantastic!
I like the cleansing balm, too, and the mandolin acid has really helped my skin.
Kelly Marie Sites says
I LOVE the cleaning balm. It smells so so good, that it makes me look forward to taking off my makeup. I really want to try other products. I’d love to try the hair products and face serum.

Your previous posts convinced me to try Colleen’s products. I started with the Discovery Collection and found that her products were great for my 65 year old face. My favorite product is the Radiant Cleansing Balm. Thanks Sheaffer for introducing me to this brand ❤️
Thank you for introducing me to Colleen Rothschild skincare! I don’t have many products yet, but I love the cleansing balm! I was debating between the peel, pads and the mandelic acid serum last night and decided on the serum. Now I think I’m going to have to order the peel pads too!
Going to try a couple new things from your suggestions. I have super sensitive skin that reacts to most products. These products have been wonderful, I never had an issue, only positive things plus I have rosacea and it helps with the redness ! LOVE face oil#9 (a game changer) and extreme recovery cream! Live in a tropical, humid climate with A/C all the time and I still need these products. If I have extreme dry hands I add a few drops oil to my hands at night and presto it heals and softens instantly and lasts for a long time, that is my secret tip!
I use almost exclusively all CR but one of my very faves is the balanced gel cleanser. It was out of stock for almost a year, so I was thrilled to get it a couple of weeks ago again!
The cleansing balm is something I will not go without….ever! I always have an extra one on hand. Thank you for introducing me to her products. I use so many but love the intense hydrating mask.
Mindy B says
I second your statement that you will not dread washing your face at night with the cleansing balm! Cannot go without it! Started using the face oil about a month ago and absolutely love it too!
Tracy A says
I found the cleansing balm because of you and I will never stop using it. I love it! Guess I will have to try the pads next. ?
My favorites are the balm and face oil #9, but really I just love it all! I haven’t tried the hair products yet.
Have a great day!
I’ve been using CR products since Sheaffer Told Me To about a year ago! I love the Sheer Renewal Creme for the day and the Extreme Recovery Creme at night. I also love the Age Renewal Super Serum and the Retinol Night Oil
Your blog is what introduced me to CR products! The peel pads and the eye cream are my must-haves. Her eye cream is the first one I tried that didn’t leave my undereye feeling greasy. I’ve used so many prestige-brand creams and hers is the first one I’ve repeatedly purchased. Thank you for sharing about her brand and her products. I’ve been following her cancer journey on Instagram and she seems so genuine, kind and strong.
Jan Fisher says
I adore her products thanks to your recommendations! The cleansing balm is number one and then the restorative mask and the extreme recovery cream. I also swear by the vitamin C too. I am dying for the hair mask to come back!!
Tamara Miller says
I love how the Face oil No9 soaks in and doesn’t feel greasy on my face. I also love the Peel Pads!
Jenny L says
I have been dying to try these, they sound so good for winter skin. Love the blog…love when u show your lovely home too!
I use CR products and I agree—the Balm is the bomb. I won’t ever not use it! I used to dread, like majorly procrastinate washing my face at night because I first had to take off make up, then cleanse my face, then tone, etc… CR Balm takes it off, one and done, AND my face feels amazingly clean without being tight! I use a ton of her other products too, but the Balm is my holy grail!
I LOVE the cleansing balm! This 50 year old lady needs all the help she can get!
I love the balm and glycolic pads❤️.. huge difference in my skin!! Question— when do you use the mask/scrub? At night before the balm?? Thanks for your input !!
Hi, Nikki! I use the mask after I use the balm and before I apply the magic cocktail (extreme recovery cream and face oil). xoxo 🙂
Lisa Cullen says
I LOVE the cleansing balm! I have always wanted to try the hair mask as well but it always seems to be out of stock .. maybe one day soon!! ?
I love all of the Colleen Rothschild products! Except the sunscreen; I just use it as a eye sunscreen. But if I had to choose a couple of favorites, it would be the Intense Hydrating Mask at night. And, then the Quench and Shine Restorative Mask (once a month or so, after I wash and towel dry my hair, I put it on, put on a processing cap and sit under an old fashion hair dryer for 30 minutes). Makes my old gray wiry hair so soft! BUT what I LOVE most of all are the travel size kits! Perfect for my makeup bag and the perfect size for my little RV bathroom. There’s just something about being able to have those little products with me wherever I go!
Mary Armstrong says
The cleansing balm is my fave! Thanks for turning me on to it!
I was influenced to try the Cleansing Balm and my word it’s fantastic. That is the only product of hers that I use, mainly because of the price, but when the cleaner goes on sale I can justify the price because it lasts so long. I’m 54 with oily skin and didn’t think I would like the feel of the product, but I was so wrong.
Eileen F says
I started with the Discovery Collection and now I use the cleansing balm, hydrating mask, sheer renewal cream, extreme recovery cream, dual enzyme polish, mandelic acid serum, and the eye serum. My favorite is the cleansing balm. I have gifted some of Colleens’ products to two of my sisters.
Holly Geesaman says
I’ve been using CR for a few years now because of you! I use a variety of products, but my favorites are definitely the cleansing balm and the sheer renewed cream! The next product I want to try are the glycolic pads. Thank you so much for introducing us to this fabulous line of skin care products!
Kristin R. says
I love so many of the products, and they really do work synergistically. But I’ve seen the biggest change from the Detox Face Mask! When I use it every other day, it keeps me from breaking out!
The cleansing balm is LEGIT. I’m on my 3rd big tub in 4 years…it lasts forever! I am going to try the face oil and the overnight cream during this sale. Thanks for introducing me to this line of products…I’m a lifer:)
My favorite products are the Intense Hydrating Mask and the Quench and Shine Restorative Hair Mask (especially under a hot dryer for 30 minutes). But what I love most are the travel sizes in the kits! Perfect for my cosmetic bag and my small RV bathroom. Love being able to have that luxury while I travel!
Mary Catherine says
I have been dying to try the CR products. Now seems like a good time to jump on the bandwagon!
Rebecca Osuch says
I’ve only tried the cleansing balm. I bought it when it was on sale. I’d love to try those acid peel pads! I’m a very low maintenance kind of make-up & skincare person, so I want as minimal as possible!
Elizabeth Kelly says
I haven’t been able to try C.R. products yet, but based on your recommendations alone, it sounds like ANYone should try ANYthing! I’d love to try the cleansing balm and face oil 🙂
I love the Cleansing Balm and the scrub. I think my next purchase will have to be the Glycolic Acid pads. You’ve sold me!
Melissa A Hildreth says
I, too am a fan of the Cleansing Balm! I never dreamed that this girl, with very oily skin, would willingly add more oil to clean my face with! But, I do, and I really love it. I have recently tried the retin eye cream, and I really like it, too. It feels like it is still working, even when I get up in the morning!
After hearing you talk about and show her products a couple years ago, I started using some of them, starting of course with the radiant cleansing balm! Loved that from the start and still using today. Also tried the discovery kit, which introduced me to more things I love and use all the time. Favorites if I have to pick, besides the balm, include the sheer renewal cream (love!), and oh yes, the eye cream! So good. I really like everything I’ve tried. Wish budget would allow trying so many more. Next things I do want to eventually try are the micro-mineral scrub and the glycolic peel pads. You’ve got me pretty convinced I need to try them!
I’ve never tried this line of products, but I’ve read your recommendations as well as Shay’s! I’m excited to try them!!
The cleansing balm is definitely my #1, and the jumbo size seems to be the best value for sure. Other faves are the micro peels pads, extreme recovery cream and the retinol eye serum. Thanks for getting me started on CR. I can definitely see a difference over time.
The cleansing balm and face oil number 9 have changed my skin. I tried the discovery collection and was so happy with the products.
The cleansing balm is amazing. I like her recovery cream too. I am using more skin oils too and really help.
Because Sheaffer told me to, I’ve been using the cleansing balm for over a year now. I bought the travel set first and loved all the products but can’t afford to buy them all. The cleansing balm is my favorite too, so that’s the one I’m buying! I try to buy the oil as well. I wish there was another travel set with different products in it to try!
I’ve used the cleansing balm and love it! I keep wanting to try new products… guess I need to pull the trigger- ha! Most excited to try the glycolic acid pads. Thanks for your reviews!
My favorites are the Cleansing Balm, the No. 9 Oil, and the Extreme Recovery Cream. Especially during these Winter months for extra moisture. I have been eyeing the Glycolic pads. Maybe I need to grab them to try them during the Sale! Thanks for sharing!
Janet Calvert says
The glycolic acid peel pads are my favorite followed by the cleansing balm. The retinol supreme night oil is also a must for my older, dry skin. Thank you for introducing me to CR products!
Kathy W says
I have been using CR products a year. I like the balm and the hydrating mask the most. Next up to try is the glycolic pads.
Donna James says
I started using the cleansing balm after reading one of your posts. Since then, I’ve purchased the Discovery kits for my DILs and SILs. My favorite, second to the cleansing balm, is the extreme recovery cream. I have not tried the face oil but planning to order it, as it might just be just what my older Texas skin needs to get through the winter. Also, I’m going to try the pads. Thanks for sharing your tips with us!
April Woodbury says
I’ve only used the Extreme Recovery Cream. I need to try some of the other products. They sound fabulous!
Dena A says
I have started using the cleansing balm and it does wonders for taking off my makeup and making my skin feel soft and smooth. This is a game changer and will be sticking with it as my cleanser from here on out. As a teacher and having to wear my mask all day I am finding my skin though is looking red and irritated in spots and I have entered my 50s find my pores are looking like craters now with off and on patchy dryness. After using the balm I keep going back to the site to see what might work best for the redness and large pores and just can’t figure out what would be the next product(s) I need to start using. Anyone have some thoughts?
You encouraged me to take the plunge last year. I bought the cleansing balm and it really lives up to all the claims. I love how smooth and slightly silky my face feels afterwards. Glad you told me to do it…ha!
