We had lots of great family time, hung out with some good friends we hadn’t seen in awhile, and got a lot of necessary things done around the house.
For example, I cleaned out the pantry.
I may or may not have thrown out a jar of baby food that was in the back (Carter turns 5 next month) as well as a can of chicken broth that was dated October 2008.
I know.
I’m ashamed.
And, just when I was about to head to bed on Sunday night,
I may have panicked and ordered 1 last thing from the sale.
But if Chris asks, I didn’t.
Girl code, m’kay?
So.
I dedicated my posts to finding the best deals at Nordstrom, sharing them with you guys, and I bet Nordstrom never even knew what hit them.
And come fall, we are all going to be DARLING!
We are going to be wearing super cute and flattering jeans, MUST HAVE shirts, gorgeous boots, and I have no doubt we will all be accessorized perfectly.
But now the sale is over, and it’s back to regularly scheduled programming around here.
That being said, we’re going to mix it up a bit this week.
(And let’s be honest, my Nordstrom card needs a little time to recover.)
I think most of you know what my favorite stores are.
(LOFT used to be in the #1 slot, but Nordstrom quietly jumped to the lead spot about 6 months ago.
Nobody tell LOFT please. I’m afraid her feelings will be hurt.)
But today, I’m stepping out of the box a bit (my box anyway).
I’m going to be focusing on Old Navy and Target!
I often end up with some things that I love!
So, I thought I would do 2 different things today.
1) I’m going to pick one of my previous outfits, and link similar items from Target and Old Navy.
2) I’m going to find a Pinterest outfit pin, and I’m going to find like items from Target and Old Navy.
Yeah!
1)
This look was just from a couple of weeks ago,
but it’s probably in my Top 10 favorite outfits from the year.
It was sooo simple and I just loved it!
It probably has something to do with my love affair with the jeans.
Here is how I recreated the outfit with items from Old Navy and Target:
Pretty good, right?!?
old navy white tank HERE
target white tank HERE
target distressed jeans HERE
target pendant necklace HERE
target nude wedges HERE
target black woven belt HERE
I wanted to keep on with my Old Navy/ Target challenge
I set out to recreate the look!
I didn’t get it exactly, but I think it’s pretty close!
I like how the shirt above is navy and white striped but has an aqua piping.
I couldn’t find that, so I gave you two options:
1) a turquoise and white striped t
2) a navy and white striped t that can be paired with the turquoise pendant necklace
I also gave you 2 shoe choices.
turquoise striped tee HERE
gap striped slub tee HERE
target pendant necklace HERE
polka dot jeans HERE
target nude wedges HERE
nude patent heels HERE
So what do you think?
Target has gone and done it again! They have partnered with Feed USA, and with every purchase, you help provide meals to children and families across America.
I like it!
Hope everybody enjoyed how I mixed it up a bit today!
See you back here tomorrow!
Uh-oh.
I thought I was done, but I just read a blog comment and am now going to be
forced to post one more item.
I had a reader post a comment on Friday’s post that can pretty much be described as
“stream of consciousness”.
It was hilarious.
Morgan talked about how she got online to place 1 order, but then the
“people
who bought this also bought these” section and the “recommended” section basically made her buy like 23 more things. Including a pair of leopard burlap TOMS.
When I read “leopard TOMS” in her comment, I was all…..what? leopard burlap TOMS?
I didn’t recall ever seeing those, but they sounded delightful.
So I of course hopped online to check them out.
And they are delightful.
They are available to pre-order right now.
Click HERE for the Leopard TOMS.
Just try to resist.
The awesomeness of the leopard burlap is almost too much to take.
All right.
Now I’m done.

Good gravy, woman! You are going to put me in the poor house – but I'll look good in my cardboard box. Love the leopard TOMS.

Loving both your outfits!! I like the change of pace too, Nordstrom was starting to invade my dreams. I literally woke up Sunday morning thinking about boots. So I did what any normal person would do…. I got my butt out of bed and placed an order all before 6:30 a.m! 🙂

LOFT used to be my favorite store too…and then I had kids and going to Portland to shop just doesn't happen as often as I would like. So imagine my joy when I was running errands on Saturday and saw that we are getting a LOFT in September! I might have talked about it with great excitement for the rest of the day. All my husband could say was "nooooooooo". I just figure he wouldn't like it if I let myself go into mom frump mode so my shopping is really for his benefit, right?!
Oh and Target has a really cute pair of cheap leopard flats! I wore mine out last year and was tempted to get the Sam Edelman ones but I decided to go easy on my checking account at $17 instead 🙂 I have never tried the TOMS but between hearing it from you and Shay both I might just have to try a pair out!

Thank you so much for highlighting Target. I had actually been meaning to ask you to do that, along with Kohl's. Would LOVE to see more posts like this in the future. Keep up the good work 🙂

Yay for Target! I'm there almost every day of my life. Old Navy is one of my staples too. Love both of the looks you recreated, those are things I would definitely wear in real life any day!

The leopard toms!!!! I'm giving myself a serious pat on the back!! They are so great, right?!?
I just want you know know, I've always read blogs but never been one to purchase much from them or what they highlighted. Not sure why, but I just haven't. Well so much for that. Paul and my credit card thank you!

Thank you to my new personal stylist Sheaffer!! I had a reason to get my rear outta bed bright & early Sat. a.m, and make the 2-hr treck to the nearest Nordstorm (with my fav. 17-yr old son) We power shopped the Vigoss jeans, "super sparkly bracelet", MK tortoise watch, putty wedges & denim jacket. Thanks for helping make a more stylish me! Keep up the good work girl, love the blog! : ) Oh, also put the burlap leopard TOMS on my birthday wishlist, Oh yeah baby!!

I adore your first outfit recreation! Simple and classic outfits are always my favorite!! And, you had me at burlap leopard Toms. Maybe I'll finally buy my first pair of Toms since the crochet ones didn't look good on me {but I love them on others!}.
P.S. I may have panicked and ordered a few more things this weekend too! I can't even remember what they were at this exact second. Ha! 😉

Since I have discovered the world of moms blogging about everyday fashion, yours is one of my favorites!
I have begin to think much more out of the box in putting things together, thanks to you and the other bloggers.
I had been wanting a chambray shirt and had saw one on a blog that had come from Old Navy. I typically don't go there that often but I had saw they were having 20% off during our tax free weekend in Oklahoma. So off I went, I got my chambray shirt, plus an orange cardigan, a cute little dress and a striped tee that had been on my list because of blog world. Then I head to the men's section (I have 2 HS age boys). I hit the mother load. My senior liked all but one shirt I had picked up for him. I had to pat myself on the back for that achievement.
Oh and by the way one of the shirts I got him, I had "pinned" a similar shirt a few weeks ago. Another pat on the back. Thank you! Keep the posts and inspiration coming.

Hi! I totally love your new way of mixing things with Target and Old Navy. I love all the other stores dont get me wrong, but I especially love Target and Old Navy prices since we are saving up this year to buy a house I have to keep myself on a buget but I occasionally treat myself of course 😉
Love you blog!
Martha

I was very happy to see the Target and Old Navy post – because although I really enjoy your blog I know not everyone including myself can afford all of the great recommendations. So this is refreshing and thanks!!!!!!!!
I don't live near a Nordstrom/Loft/Gap/etc but have ordered a few things online now from Nordstrom and love the shipping ease and ease of returns. I live in a rural area and any easy to use shopping site (like zappos) is my friend 🙂
Also, just curious, I know this is a fashion blog, but do you surf pinterest for anything else? I am obsessed with house stuff & enjoy looking at holiday decorating ideas, crafty stuff and receipes too.
Thanks!
Cathy
