But they totally should be.
They are just. that. awesome.
Anyhoo.
If you know me, you know that I am a lover of the colored jean AND the skinny jean.
So, give me a COLORED SKINNY jean, and I am ALL IN.
I have several pairs.
Turquoise, royal blue, pale pink, and now mustard.
Some people (the hubby, ahem) may think this is overboard. I think it’s a nice start.
Mama really wants a pair of red ones too. And maybe green. And hot pink.
And wouldn’t eggplant be nice?
Is it weird that I can hardly remember a time when the world only had denim jeans?
It must have been a dark, dark time.
So…I now introduce to you….
my mustard skinny jeans.
You might as well get to know them because you will be seeing lots of each other.
I didn’t have any cobalt blue accessories, so I subbed a bright orange. It was a good sub.
I like to call this outfit: “FALL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER”
This outfit is a nice way to ease into fall: long pants and fall colors, but a sleeveless shirt so I don’t pass out from a heat stroke.
Orange Statement Necklace: Sam Moon
(I bought it a couple of weeks ago after Pinterest told me to. And Chris…is was $9.99!!!)
Black and White top: The LOFT
Belt: The LOFT
Mustard Skinny Jeans: Nordstrom
Don’t worry peeps, fall really is just around the corner.
You know how I know?
Because when I ordered the Coconut Mocha Frappacino last week at Starbucks, they told me that the Coconut Mocha button had been taken off the register and that the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappacino button would be put on September 4th.
So, I don’t care what Sam Champion or the Farmer’s Almanac says.
In my world, September 4th shall be the first day of fall.
That is tomorrow, so mark it down.
(FYI: In my friends Shay’s and Andrea’s worlds, it has been fall since late July. Shay has been burning pumpkin spice candles, Shay’s kids have been wearing footie pajamas for naps, and Andrea and her kids have been wearing sweaters and fleece in her house for at least 6 weeks now.)
Personally, I think they may have jumped the gun a bit, but for the rest of us…..
it is just around the corner people.
Sure, it might still be 104 degrees outside. But in my heart and in my closet, it will be fall.
p.s. My girlfriends and I are headed to Starbucks tonight for a scarf exchange!
Now, if that doesn’t say fall, I don’t know what does.

Don't tease the Shulls over here celebrating fall! Smith asked me yesterday if we could get the Christmas lights down and for a moment..I considered it. As for colored jeans? What did we do before? I honestly don't understand the delay in this fashion trend. It makes perfect sense! Mustard is the new black! See you tonight!!

First, I LOVE the mustard jeans! Super cute! Second, I have to admit, when Shay texted me a couple weeks ago and told me she was putting out her fall decorations, I totally grabbed mine and started putting them out too. I also today considered putting up one of our Christmas trees. They're just so darn pretty! Third, I screamed out loud just now when I realized tomorrow is September 4. I'll be in the drive thru at Starbucks first thing to get my salted caramel mocha 🙂

I love the mustard! I have many pairs in an array of colors, but I'm now branching into patterns…(Pinterest didn't tell me to do it, but some other fashion news source sucked me in.)
Let me know if Pinterest says anything about what I should do with these… http://www.paigeusa.com/skyline-ankle-peg-umbria/d/40001460
I don't want them to sit in my closet!
Love the blog!

Hey Julia! Those jeans are AWESOME! I totally see a grey v-neck sweater, a black scarf, and then black ankle boots. Those jeans can't just sit in the closet, they are definitely meant to be seen! 🙂 And I've come very close to buying a polka dot pair of jeans twice now. I have no doubt that I will own some very soon!

Great idea! Thanks! I was thinking black, white or another dark color, but I hadn't even though about grey…which is great because I picked up a grey sweater when I bought the jeans. Good call on the ankle boots. I knew they looked good with some of my flats and heels, but I wasn't sure what I was going to do when it got colder.

Believe it or not Walmart has some LEI skinny jeans for $15 in purple, red, pink, turquoise and I think maybe black. Super find. I have my dead car battery to thank for that one.
