Mother’s Day Ideas: Treat Your Mom and Yourself! (and an Avara SALE!)

Today’s post is all about celebrating the Mamas in our lives! Heaven knows that they (WE!) deserve some celebrating.

Usually I do this post later in April, but I’ve had a handful of requests already for some ideas, so I thought I would go ahead and put a post together. After all, May 10th will be here before we know it, so it’s time to grab a gift or 2 for our sweet moms. And let’s be honest, it’s also time to throw a hint our husband’s and kid’s ways as well.

I’ve rounded up some great gifts today. Some are items that I own and love, and other items are ones that just caught my eye. I know that I would personally love to receive any of these gifts. There are also a couple that are perfect for my mom!

You will probably notice that some of today’s recommendations are pricier than I normally recommend. Nordstrom asked me to talk about some of their designer goods, and I thought that Mother’s Day was the perfect opportunity to talk about some splurge-worthy pieces. Personally, I really have my eye on the David Yurman heart bracelet and the diamond solitaire stud earrings. Did you hear that Chris? Carter? 😉

1) David Yurman turquoise bracelet / I don’t currently own any David Yurman pieces, but I’m thinking it’s time to change that. This turquoise bracelet is classic. It’s of course beautiful worn on its own, but it also looks great stacked with other pieces. Click HERE to see all of the colors that are available.

2) David Yurman heart bracelet / Another classic David Yurman piece. The twisted helix sterling silver bracelet is topped with a small 14k gold heart. It’s iconic. I really love this one. Click HERE to see the detail. I truly love this piece.

3) pave diamond coin pendant necklace / This necklace is gorgeous. It’s a bit of a splurge, but it’s special! The pave diamonds are so pretty, and I love the hammered finish. You need to click HERE to see the blingy detailing.

4) Colleen Rothschild body bundle duo / I’m not huge into body creams and lotions, but my mom and sister are both completely obsessed with these 2 products. I gave them both this duo for Christmas, and it seems I’ve now spoiled them. No other body products measure up anymore. It’s these that they have to have! 5) TOMS denim espadrilles / I shared a pair of TOMS platform wedges last month, and so many of y’all loved them! So when TOMS reached out again to ask me to talk about some more of their new spring and summer styles, I jumped at the chance! I think these shoes are super cute (and would totally wear them myself), but I feel like they are absolutely made for my mom! They would be so cute with regular, white, cream, and colored denim. 6) David Yurman blue topaz ring / This ring is stunning. Is it expensive? Yes. But let’s focus on the STUNNING part. And to be honest, I thought it was going to be at least 3x more than it is.

7) 14k gold heart pendant necklace / This is by far the most expensive gift idea on today’s post, but I thought it was gorgeous, so I decided to include it just in case anybody is planning on getting really spoiled this year. 😉 It’s 14k gold and made in Italy. #oohlala

8) love token pendant / “A little token, a lot of love.” Such a sweet sentiment on this lovely gold pendant. I love the shape and the message. I think any mama would be excited to get this!

9) neuLASH / Years ago my sister started using neuLASH. Her lashes were INSANE (like she had to cut them!), so I was finally convinced I had to try it for myself. It wasn’t until this past fall (several months before my high school reunion) that I started using it consistently. AND WOWZA. Conner was right, it took a solid 3 months, but I definitely noticed a HUGE difference in my lash length. In fact, my lashes have recently started hitting my readers. Haha! 🙂 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product.

10) Dior lip gloss / Who doesn’t love a new lip gloss! This one has great reviews (I have it in a couple of colors and love it), and there are tons of color options to choose from.

11) Barefoot Dreams star robe / I’ve been screaming and shouting about Barefoot Dreams products since the second year of the blog. WELL. When I saw this adorable robe I knew it would make a perfect gift. AND THEN I SAW IT WAS ON SALE! WooHoo! It comes in blue too.

15) Laneige lip mask / Y’all know this is a must have (can’t live without) product for me. I put it on every single night before bed. I seriously can’t go to sleep without it.

17) heart sunshine pendant necklace / This beautiful heart pendant necklace will give you a lot of bang for your buck! Just throw it on a chain you already have and be reminded of your loved ones all day long.

18) TOMS neutral slide sandals / I grabbed these for myself and think they’re awesome. I am however going to return them for a 1/2 size up, so keep that in mind if ordering for yourself! They also come in brown, black, leopard, and an almond crochet. You might remember that I just got these platform wedges recently, and I love the sporty vibe. They are incredibly comfy, and I love the height they give.

You might remember these buckle wedge sandals I first showed a couple of weeks ago. They are insanely comfortable, very easy to walk in, and I love the height they give me! I’m wearing my regular 6 1/2, but I’m actually thinking that sizing up a 1/2 size might be a good idea.

19) TOMS leopard sneakers / These are on sale and so sooooooo good. I happen to love the leopard, but if leopard isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other color options to choose from.

20) weighted eye blanket / This was given as a Favorite Thing at Shay’s annual Favorite Things party two years in a row! It was hysterical because this year Jeni gave it to everybody and was like “This is one of my very favorite things ever. I love it so much.”. And then Lori was like “I gave this to y’all last year.” Hahahahaha! Well, safe to say, Jeni really loved it. 🙂

21) raffia bag / This is what a perfect summer bag looks like to me. It only has 2 reviews so far, but they are both 5 stars.

22) diamond solitaire stud earrings / Bling is my love language. I think these blingy earrings might belong in my ears. They come in both gold and silver, they have 21 reviews, and all but 1 reviewer gave them 5 STARS!

The Harlow dress is 30% OFF right now! It could be worn to a wedding, a shower, a graduation, a garden party, a lady’s luncheon, or church. The colors are muted, and the floral print is so lovely. It is pretty short (but y’all know I like that). If length is an issue for you, this might not be your dress. This pink sweater is a wonderful closet basic with a little bit of flare, and it’s 30% OFF too! I love this shade of pink, I love the relaxed fit, and I really love the multicolor embroidered accents all over. It’s super soft and between and light and medium weight. I love that it doesn’t hug the body, but it still has the banded sleeves and hem to make it flattering. I’m loving it here with my cream jeans, but I know I’ll also be wearing it with white jeans and regular denim. I’ll pair it with denim shorts too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I love everything about this dress. The stand-up collar, the subtle puff sleeves, the belted waist, the braided trim details, and the tiered skirt are all fabulous.
