More Spring and Summer Outfits (with shorts, jeans, and rompers)!

Several weeks ago I did a post where I planned 9 different Spring and Summer outfits.  Today I’m going to show you several of the outfits that I planned on that post.  They are going to come off the dining room table (where I do all my flat lays, which is #totallyprofessional) and hop on to me!  I think it helps to see the outfit pieces both on the table and on my body, so you are going to get to see both!  Today you get to see 4 of the 9 outfits, but if you want to see the other 5 (and you totally do!), click HERE.

OUTFIT #1:

If you don’t have the MUST HAVE wedges yet, I’m not quite sure what you are waiting for.

I simply do not wear shoes that aren’t comfy, and these are you almost won’t believe it comfortable.  I’ve walked around in these babies at a conference, at church, around our downtown square, and just doing errands and grocery shopping one day.  They were appropriate for all different events, and my feet didn’t hurt.  NOT EVEN ONCE.  My feet are hard to please, so that is saying something!  I’ve worn them with blue jeans, white jeans, black jeans, grey jeans, skirts, dresses, maxi dresses, and now this romper.  #gettheshoes #imeaninamedthemamusthave #youmusthavethem  The wedges are true to size for me, but some are saying to size up if you have wide feet.  They also come in black, a slate grey, and white.  I might have purchased the black as well.  #okayidid #theyareamusthaveafterall #itoldmyselfto

This month I have an event to attend that’s around a rooftop pool at a hotel, and I feel like this romper will be perfect.  It’s super flattering and incredibly comfortable.  Yes, going to the bathroom becomes a challenge, BUT IT’S WORTH IT.  Because you will be comfy and DARLING.  The gathered top, the drawstring at the waist, and the bell sleeves with the tiny pom poms are all great details!  AND THE PATTERN IS SO MUCH FUN!

I love the color scheme of the blue and white because it just feels so fresh!  I mixed things up a bit by pairing it with my cognac must have wedges and my $25 clutch with the super chic wooden ring…and I topped it all off with a pair of navy fringe statement earrings!

I got a small in the romper, which is true to size for me.  And seriously, if you don’t have the best strapless bra ever, you need to take the plunge.  You and your boobies will both thank me for it.  #allthreeofyou

OUTFIT #2

I could wear this basic outfit formula (tee, these denim shorts, and sandals) every warm day and be happy.  I sized up to a medium in the tee (so sad it’s going in and out of stock) and it’s pretty slouchy, but I like it.

Let’s take a minute to talk about the denim shorts, because they deserve a moment of our time.  THESE. SHORTS. ARE. AWESOME.  I got them last year, wore the heck out of them, and was so excited for y’all when they came back this year!  They are stretchy, comfy, and not crazy short.  I’ve tried on DOZENS and DOZENS of shorts over the last several years, and these are my favorites by far.  They are tacked up on the sides in order to help them stay rolled up (which I appreciate), but know that you can’t roll them down to make them longer.

I have a 27 in the shorts which is true to size for me, but size down if between sizes.  Size up 1/2 a size in the sandals.

OUTFIT #3:

You saw this lace top on the blog several weeks ago (click HERE to see it styled the first time)…and here it is with different earrings and a clutch.  I’m in between a 4 and a 6 in the top, but I’m hoping in a couple of more pounds the 4 will fit perfectly! The wedges are true to size (but some are saying to size up a 1/2 if you have wide feet).  I have a 27 in the jeans, size down if between sizes.

OUTFIT #4

I love this top so much.  I have an event in mind that I’m wearing it too, or else I probably wouldn’t have made the splurge.  The colors are gorgeous in person,and the square neckline is so interesting. I sized up to a medium because the small pulled across the chest.  Size up a 1/2 in the sandals.  I have a 27 in the jeans, size down if between sizes.

If you don’t have the white jeans yet, I’m determined to convince you that you should try them!  Click HERE for the post where I feel like I made a really solid case for them.  They are stretchy, they are comfy, they hug you in all the right places, and perhaps most importantly… they aren’t see thru.  Oh wait, also of extreme importance is the fact that they are flattering as all get out.  I have a 27 in the jeans, so they are true to size for me.  I’m encouraging you today, if you’ve always shied away from white jeans, GIVE THESE A TRY!  For just $68, they could be your beloved white jeans too.  Give them a shot!  With free shipping AND free returns, what do you have to lose?!?

That’s it for the outfit recreations, but we aren’t quite done yet!

I wanted to post a couple of try-ons I did in dressing rooms too (the lighting is incredibly harsh, so please disregard the fact that I look ill).  🙂

I bought these shorts a couple of weeks ago, but was having trouble finding a top I liked with them, until the sales associate at LOFT suggested this sweater!  I think it looks great together!   I’m wearing a medium in the sweater (they didn’t have a small in store for me to try, although I didn’t mind the fit of the medium) and a 4 in the shorts.

I also tried a couple of tops on at Anthro.  I didn’t come home with either of these, but only because I’ve already added a couple of splurge tops to my closet this season from Anthro (HERE and HERE, both seen above).  I really loved both of these, and wanted to show them for sure in case any of you were in the market for a special top!

I’m wearing a 4 in this one.  It’s pretty sheer, but I didn’t feel like I needed anything under it.  The top is beautifully made and the embroidery is gorgeous, but if you have a long torso, this might not be the top for you.  I would LOVE to wear this with my favorite denim shorts and cognac sandals.

Again, please ignore my incredibly pale face.  I’m going to continue to blame the lighting.  😉 The reviews on this top aren’t great, but I thought it was festive and really cute!  Yes, it’s thin, but it didn’t bother me.  I just thought of it as airy!  I’m wearing a small in the top.
