Happy Friday, Everybody! WoooooooooooHoooooooooo!
I’m of course happy because it’s Friday, but I’m also THRILLED that it’s the last day of school for us! And today is my monthly Amazon haul!!! Today’s stuff is SO GOOD, y’all. The items are DARLING, WELL MADE, and the prices are FANTASTIC. We all know that shopping Amazon can be hit or miss, but with me putting in the work for you, I’m hoping you’ll only have a cart full of HITS!
Here’s a little sneak peek of this month’s haul…
Dresses were such a hit last month, I thought we would kick off May’s haul with some amazing dresses too!
I’m going to start out with my personal favorite…this DARLING ruffle sleeve dress. It’s lightweight, soft, feminine, and flirty. Notice the double ruffle sleeve, the deep v neck, and the way it lays so nicely. You’ll see that not all of the reviews are raving like mine, but I really do love this dress. I do agree with some reviewers that it would be best suited for those that aren’t super busty, but it’s actually okay on me. I did size up to a large in order for it not to be too tight in the bust. I would prefer a medium everywhere else, but I still think that the fit is flattering. The dress is lined, which is awesome. It comes in 12 colors (this is the A-floral Red), but I love the green, the mustard, the black, and the blush!
The material of this swing dress isn’t like a regular cotton t-shirt dress, it’s 95% rayon and 5% spandex, but don’t get worried and think that means it’s super hot and not breathable, because it’s actually cool and totally breathable. Oh, and it doesn’t seem to wrinkle at all!
It’s got some stretch in it, and it skims the body and doesn’t hug it at all. Plus, it’s super comfy AND it has pockets. #score My wavy stripe is a little funky and reminds me of tie-dye, but it comes in lots of solids and classic stripes as well.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
This little ruffle sleeve dress is made out of a lightweight georgette fabric and everything about it is pretty from the floral sleeves, to the v-neck, to the drawstring waist (that is functional). This is one of those dresses that’s just as cute worn with sneakers as it is a pair of dressier wedge sandals. For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the dress, but I need a medium.
Here’s the same dress in the flora pattern. I’m wearing a medium in this one, and the fit is definitely better.
This surplice dress was a total surprise for me. First of all, what the heck is a surplice dress? I don’t know, BUT I LIKE IT. It’s fitted through the chest with criss cross styling, and then it’s flared to the hem with a beautiful drape. It’s incredibly comfortable. I have it styled like a dress here, but it could also be worn as a pool cover up. For size reference, I’m wearing a small, so I would say it runs a bit big.
This tiered maxi tent dress doesn’t work for me personally (it’s way too tight in the chest), but I know it’s going to be great for lots of y’all! It’s got no give up top, so I think it’s best suited for flatter chested gals. Several reviewers posted pics of themselves in the dress, so head to the site if you want to see it on different body types. For size reference, I’m wearing a small (but remember it’s super tight up top).
If you’ve been around for awhile, you will remember this striped t-shirt dress. I first purchased it around 3 years ago…maybe even 4 years ago, and I’ve worn the heck out of it every single year. It’s not clingy, but it’s not boxy either, and it has the cutest little ruffle at the hem of the sleeves. It comes in 9 colors, and it launders like a dream. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Do you remember the blue wavy striped dress above? Here’s the wavy black version. I’ve owned this one for a couple of years now. I’m wearing a medium in the blue one, but I’m wearing a small in this one. It’s a little shorter (both the hem and the sleeves) and it’s a little less loose all over.
If you need some tees to work out in, this 2 pack tech of stretch tees is for you. You’ll see that I got the “black/space dye” option, but there are tons to choose from. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Over the last several years I’ve featured a number of athletic wear pieces from the brand Core 10 like leggings, joggers, jackets, and everything in between. Their pieces are awesome, and y’all think so too!
Well, I’m THRILLED about my new athletic shorts from the brand. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. Here’s what you need to know:
- Snug fit through hip and thigh, with more ease through the leg
- Lightweight, moisture-wicking, breathable active stretch fabric
- Concealed zip pocket at waistband
- built in undies
Here’s the other tee in my 2 pack, and although the shorts don’t come in a 2 pack, I’m glad I grabbed a couple.
I predict that both of these pieces are going to be a HUGE hit with all of y’all! They’re both awesome.
SHORTS AND TOPS
So, I think it’s official that I’m obsessed with this peplum tee. I have it in blue (for Carter’s school colors), red (to wear on patriotic holidays), white (because DUH), and blush (b/c I can rarely say no to blush). For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Okay, let’s talk about these stretch denim shorts. There are tons of shorts on this one link, and these are the A1 Cape Blue (you choose this option from a drop down box). First and foremost, they are SUPER stretchy. Like reallllllllllly stretchy, so they are super comfy. You can see there is definitely some distressing, and I like the interest it gives. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Same outfit here, but I wanted you to see how cute it is with my striped tote. This large tote is perfect for the pool and/or beach.
Here are the stretch denim shorts again, but this time they are styled with a classic white tee.
This v-neck comes in several colors, a couple of stripes, and there are even a couple of 2 pack options. It’s an awesome tee. I actually like it better than the Madewell tees I’ve worn for years because it has a bit more weight to it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Same white v-neck as above, but styled now with a pair of stretchy white denim shorts. Again, there are a ton of shorts on this one link, and these are the #4 white. They are also stretchy, comfy, and have great reviews. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And now with a pair of longer shorts that I’m totally digging.
These 5″ shorts have Ab-Solution technology and a great amount of stretch with an awesome fit.
- Mid rise 5″ Short
- Inseam: 7″ Cuffed to 5″
- 54% Cotton, 25% Rayon, 19% Polyester, 2% Spandex
You’ll see on the model online that these shorts are cuffed twice, but I prefer this pair cuffed once, although the versatility is nice. They are so soft, so comfy, very stretchy, and did I mention comfy? For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4.
Orange is not typically a color I gravitate to, but I love this orange puff sleeve tee. It’s got near perfect reviews and a super flattering fit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I’ve got another puff sleeve tee for you. My name is Sheaffer, and I love a puff sleeve.
This lilac and white floral is summer perfection, but it comes in other colors as well. It’s soft, comfy, and stretchy. It’s lightweight and feels great on.
- 56% Cotton, 38% Modal, 6% Elastane
I wanted something different than just a basic t-shirt, and I stumbled upon this lace babydoll blouse. For starters, I’m wearing a medium, but I definitely need a small. It is very generously sized. This is the “A Purple”, and the best I can describe it is as a really soft lilac.
I showed this same ruffle top in the olive color back earlier in the spring, and I believe I styled it with jeans and booties. I thought this oatmeal color would be perfect with white shorts and white sandals. And I was right. Haha! The little pocket and the oversized ruffle on the sleeve are speaking my language. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
How cute is this one? I grabbed it for Memorial Day!
This smocked chiffon blouse is fully lined, has a smocked top, and it drapes very nicely. It’s super feminine, lightweight, and flowy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I need a small.
The red is super festive.
I’ve got another 2 pack of tees here, and there are sooooooooo many options to choose from! I’m talking like 45 options, and most of them are under $25 for a 2 pack. They’ve got some stretch to them, but I would consider them a fitted tee, so keep that in mind. I thought this lemon graphic and this green stripe were both so fresh and fun for spring and summer. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Well, color me surprised. Another puff sleeve top. 😉 I just can’t quit them. This is the “smokey grey”, but I think of it more like a taupe than a grey. It’s crazy soft, and almost feels like a jersey knit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Okay, 2 more tees for you today! This GORGEOUS pink, and then the same tee in white. It’s got an elasticized crew neck and a gathered neckline. Also on the fitted side (like some other tees above), this tee would be great as a layer under a denim jacket or cardigan. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And here’s the classic white.
COVER UP REVIEW
It’s that time of year that everybody is buying cover-ups, so I thought I would do a super quick cover-up review of a handful of my favorites.
The cover up is only $20.99 and comes in tons of color options! They are one size fits all, which seems realllllllly weird to me, but I really like the fit. How it works is beyond me. Haha! You can also click HERE for a more classic beach cover up option.
The neoprene tote is FANTASTIC and comes in lots of color choices It has snaps on the sides that allow you to adjust the size, and it’s plenty of big for lots of towels, water bottles, sun screens, and snacks.
I thought the black cover up was so great and wore it all summer long, so I also grabbed this bright “watermelon red” last year.
And please notice the accessories….
Okay, who wants to look like a movie star at the pool and the beach this summer? Buy this caftan cover up, throw on this pair of sunglasses, and people will be asking you for your autograph in no time. The colors, the graphic pattern, the drapey fit, the cinched in waist…I LOVE IT ALL.
And the striped beach tote with this one as well.
I talked about this on ig stories earlier this week, but I wanted to show these bad boys on the blog too! Now that summer is here, I’ve received a handful of requests lately for travel rings now that everybody is traveling again! I thought it was a fun request, so I ordered several from Amazon and found 2 that are GORGEOUS. Seriously. They’re stunning.
Here’s a side view of the above ring. Notice the hidden halo.
The other ring I liked was this elongated cushion.
Do y’all follow @ringconcierge on instagram? She’s a young jeweler/jewelry designer out of New York, and she designs and creates the most beautiful jewelry. She’s a great follow on insta, and she often shows rings stacked on her finger like this (for comparison).
I’m having a Ring Concierge moment here.
But seriously. STUNNING.
A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I had just learned that Drew Barrymore has a makeup line that is carried by Amazon. It’s called Flower Beauty, and it’s SUPER reasonably priced and has great reviews. I asked for those that had tried her products to sound off in the comments, and several people left awesome feedback about the line that encouraged me to order some products!
I tried the Flower Beauty line. Just the lipstick but I loved it. I forgot about this line and need to try other things. – Jeanine
I have just recently started trying some Flower Beauty products and have been impressed with every single one so far. My favorite so far is the Heatwave Luminous Bronzer in Sunrise! I have light to medium skin tone and this is a cooler toned bronzer, not orangey or super warm, and it gives the most beautiful color, like that lightly sunburned/sunkissed browny pink color that you get during vacation…LOL I don’t know how to describe it any differently! It is slightly luminous but NOT glittery. – Jackie
My favorite brow pencil is Flower Beauty’s Draw The Line. Fills in & doesn’t run! – Vanessa
Hi Sheaffer! I have used and LOVED the following Flower Beauty products: Shimmer & Strobe highlighter palette, Forever Wear Long Wear eyeliner pencil (Color: Forever Brownstone) (it really does last all day!), and the Light Illusion Full Coverage concealer (Shade: Light). I definitely recommend all of those! – Laura
I’ve used Flower Beauty for a few years now. The spiced petal lipstick is a perfect dupe for Pillow Talk and the light illusion perfecting powder is great! – Becky
So based on the above recommendations, and after taking a look at all available Flower Beauty products, I ordered 5 different Flower Beauty items. I didn’t love the eyeliner, and one of the lipsticks I got was way too pink, but I LOVE the other 3 products I ordered (seen below). I also included some of my other current Amazon beauty products.
lipstick ( berry more )/ berry mauve lip gloss (linger)/ eltaMD tinted sunscreen / Flower Beauty luminous bronzer (sunrise) / Flower Beauty Day Glow highlighting glaze (stunner) / NYX brow gel / Flower Beauty eyebrow pencil
I had full makeup on this day, but as always, I started with my eltaMD tinted sunscreen. Ever since getting the IPL, I apply it ever single morning. There are many days that it might be all I wear. It’s approved by my dermatologist, and I will never go without it.
I’m also wearing this luminous bronzer in sunrise. The reader above was right. It’s a nice cool pinky brown color. It’s so good and gives such a pretty sun kissed glow. I then used the Day Glow highlighting glaze on my cheeks and love the illuminating effect it gives.
The Flower Beauty eyebrow pencil is awesome, but I have one complaint. It’s the pencil on one end, and the spoolie brush on the other end, but it’s important you don’t get the caps messed up and try to put the spoolie cap on the pencil end….because it’s shorter and will crush the pencil. I’m speaking from experience.
CONNER’S GUEST BEDROOM UPDATE
I told y’all last week that Conner was designing her new guest bedroom with tons of Amazon finds. Well, today you get to see the progress!
I am SO excited to share our guest bedroom refresh with y’all today! If you know me, you know I’m really boring when it comes to color and decorating. I stick with neutral colors (white, beige, gray, light blue when I’m feeling crazy) because I tend to get tired of colors quickly.
Here is the BEFORE. I had bedding from Ballard and a hand me down nightstand from my grandmother.
I shared this design board last week to show what she was planning.
I got a wild hair and decided to add some fun color to our neutral guest bedroom, and I am THRILLED with the way it turned out. I knew I needed to add something over/behind the beds, but didn’t know where to start. I started looking at paintings on Amazon, but all of the prints seemed too bold for the bedding.
After scrolling through Amazon, I found these framed abstract prints and immediately fell in love. The prints became the centerpiece for the room. I decided to play off of the colors and accessorize with the yellow lamp, blue pillows and orange blanket. I still can’t believe I have a yellow lamp and orange blanket in my house (much less in the SAME room), but I love how the colors play off of each other. I also added a gorgeous new nightstand. You guys. Words (and photos) do not do it justice. It’s beautiful AND provides great storage. I’m also impressed with the shipping/packaging – all I had to do was take it out of the box and twist the legs into place.
The formerly boring guest room has now become my favorite room in the house. I hope you all love it as much as I do!
Here is the AFTER!
CONNER! I love it sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!
It’s so light, airy, and happy!
Well done, sister!
