Y’ALL!  IT’S LIVE!  It’s FINALLY LIVE!

My friend Cassie’s line, the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Holiday Line, is now available at Nordstrom!!!  It’s her 4th collection with Gibson and Nordstrom, and the girl has hit her stride.

She’s worked so hard on this for so many months, making sure that everything would be perfect.  And you know what?  IT IS!   I’m SO PROUD of her and SO EXCITED about all of the cute new FANCY pieces in my closet!  Think Christmas parties, think New Year’s Eve, think of any event where you want to look and feel FABULOUS.  Here’s a tiny little peek…

Here’s what you need to know…

There are 9 pieces, and everything is DARLING.  And not just kind of darling.  SERIOUSLY DARLING.  And because many of the pieces have a couple of different color/pattern options, there are 22 total pieces in all.

One of the cool features of the collection is that everything is made to mix and match.  The reds match, the blacks match, the golds match…..and this color consistency makes all of the pieces so versatile!  The sky is the limit for how you choose to style your pieces.

Five pieces worked PERFECTLY, and I’m in love.

Let’s get started!

BLACK SEQUIN TOP

This sequin top is so festive, so fun, and so fantastic.  (It also comes in gorgeous champagne sequins!) It has a ballet neck, elbow length sleeves (which I am so excited about!), a scoop back, and I love that the material has a bit of give.  Cassie and the Gibson team paid attention to comfort as well, so this sequined top is FULLY LINED, and you can wear it with a regular bra!  It’s very comfortable. You’ll see it dressed up even more later in the post with both a skirt and pants, but I absolutely love it paired with jeans.

Sizing Tip:  I’m wearing a medium.  I always need a little extra give in tops like this, but I would suggest sticking with your regular size. A medium is true to size for me in a top like this. I’m wearing a 4Petite in the jeans, and I don’t normally wear petites.  More on the jeans later in the post.

BLACK SEQUIN TOP, VELVET BLAZER, and JEANS

I took the same outfit from above, and I topped it off with the luxe velvet blazer.  I love having the option of throwing a layer on that isn’t a bulky coat!!!  And this blazer doesn’t just provide warmth, it provides all sorts of sassy style. It’s got a notch collar, button closure, and a bit of stretch for a very comfortable fit.  The quality is amazing.  It’s fully lined with a silky satin with a bit of a contour at the waist for a super flattering blazer fit.

I think a blazer, jeans, and heels is a great look whether you’re dressing up for a holiday party or just heading out for a night on the town with your man or some girlfriends!

Sizing Tip:  I’m wearing a petite medium.  A medium is true to size for me in a blazer like this, and I have a really short torso, so I went with the petite!

RED VELVET TOP, BLACK VELVET BLAZER, JEANS, and LEOPARD HEELS

I mean, nothing says Christmas like red velvet.  And this red velvet top is absolutely gorgeous!  I think getting red “right” is hard, and this red is PERFECT!  It’s the same shape and fit as the black sequin top above, but my goodness the vibrant color really lends itself to festive holiday cheer!  This top has a close fit, but it’s got some stretch and I find it very flattering.  Again, it’s totally bra friendly!

Let’s talk about the jeans for a second.  I first introduced you to them on last Friday’s post (maybe you’ll remember me wearing them with the pink and red polka dot sweater), and I’m a big ol’ fan.

They are from Wit and Wisdom, they have the Ab-solution technology, and like all Wit and Wisdom pieces they are stupid comfy.  These are their girlfriend jeans.  They are a bit lighter of a wash than the ankle jeans I’ve been showing recently, they aren’t quite as fitted, they have a bit of distressing up around the hips, and they are more cropped than my ankle jeans and a bit wider at the ankle and through the calf.  I’m wearing the 4 Petite, but I would actually suggest sizing down. I have plenty of room in these 4 Petites and think a 2 Petite would be a better fit.

BLACK SEQUIN TOP AND LEOPARD SKIRT

You saw this top with jeans above, and now I’m pairing it with this fabulous leopard bow skirt.  This skirt has a side zip closure, but it also has a concealed elastic panel on the waistband in the back.  #Godblesselastic #thankyouCassieandGibson

The leopard chiffon is fully lined and GORGEOUS. It’s hard to see in the picture, but it has a subtle sheen and sparkle to it due to a fun foil dot accent in the pattern.  (You can see it by magnifying the pattern on the Nordstrom site.)  It’s stunning.   It’s a modest length, but it’s still flouncy and flirty with an adorable relaxed bow at the waist.  I’ve tied the bow in the front, but it can also be tied on the side or even in the back!

Sizing Tip:  I’m wearing a medium petite in this skirt, but I’m pretty sure I could actually wear a small petite (because of the elastic), so just stick with your regular sizing.  Actually, if you’ve got a tiny waist (LUCKY! ha!), you might consider sizing down.  Even in the petite sizing, this skirt hits me just below the knee, which is great news for you taller gals.

CAMEL CASHMERE SWEATER AND LEOPARD SKIRT

I’ve been showing a black and a camel cashmere sweater on the blog for the last several weeks, and I thought it would be fun to style them with some of Cassie’s pieces.  I wanted to show that even if you don’t want to go full on fancy, you can dress the pieces down a bit!  (Click HERE to get to the post where I styled the exact same camel sweater 3 ways.)

This leopard skirt is definitely a favorite from the line, and I love it dressed down here just a tiny bit.  It’s so feminine and flouncy!

Sizing tip:  I’m wearing a small in the sweater (size down if between sizes) and a medium petite in the skirt (although I think I could wear a small petite).

I LOVE THIS SKIRT.  I hope you can feel my love now that I’ve styled it 3 ways.

RED VELVET TOP AND WIDE LEG PANTS

I had to style this gorgeous red top again.  I thought it deserved another chance to shine.

And y’all.  These wide leg pants are everything.   Like my beloved boot cut jeans, these pants add inches and take away pounds!  If you want to look tall and skinny, try these pants.

Since the pants are billowy, I think they look best with a fitted shirt. And the stretch velvet in the most beautiful red seemed perfect.  The satin waistband helps to create a nice silhouette by defining the waist and adding a bit of sheen.  These pants also have the hidden elastic waistband, which I adore!  Such a comfortable and flattering fit.

Sizing Tips:  I’m wearing a medium petite in the pants, and I’m almost 5’4″.  If my height or under, I would definitely recommend the petite sizing.  I’m wearing the regular medium in the top.

And then I went a bit fancier…..

I kept on the super fancy pants…and I paired them with sequins.

It’s flattering, it’s comfy, and it’s just a great overall look.

I’ve got two pretty fancy looks with the pants above, but I’ve dressed them down quite a bit in the next two outfits with my cashmere sweaters!  These pants are incredibly versatile.

    I love the ballet top and blazer, but very disappointed that the blazer does not come in plus sizes. I didn’t even consider the leopard skirt till I saw you pair it with the cashmere sweater!!! That will be the look I’m gonna to wear this year.

    I absolutely adore the wide leg pants and I’m so bummed they are already sold out!! I think the leopard skirt is adorable too, and something I wouldn’t normally wear.
