FAVORITE #2: My Joe Fresh bottoms
Speaking of Joe Fresh, I HIGHLY recommend their ruched bikini bottoms. 
Actually, all of their swimsuits and cover-ups are super cute and VERY well priced.


I was wearing them on Wednesday’s swimsuit post with both tankini tops that I was highlighting from Nordstrom.

FAVORITE #4: Genesis Women’s Luncheon
My friend Brennan is very involved with the Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas, and she asked me to be a guest at her table at their annual luncheon on Tuesday!
(We should have taken a picture BEFORE the luncheon. I would have had lipstick on, AND there wouldn’t be a lot of dirty plates in the background!  Oh well!)
Isn’t she purty?!?  🙂
And…the best part about Brennan…she has a HEART OF GOLD!

If you’ve never heard of Genesis, here’s a brief description from the Genesis website:

Genesis provides shelter, safety, counseling, and expert services to battered women and their children.

Maria Shriver spoke at the event about being an “architect of change” and how these women at the shelter are making positive changes for themselves and their children by making the decision to leave unhealthy situations.  Her message really drove the point home that we can all be architects of change!

I was so impressed by the work they are doing at Genesis that I left feeling inspired to help!  I called my friends at Accessory Concierge (I found out they have worked with Genesis in the past by donating jewelry!), and we are going to be accepting clothing donations on behalf of Genesis at the Grand Opening Party on May 28th!
Bring one item….bring 50 items…..
just bring any gently used clothing that you can, and I will get it all to Genesis!
Let’s all help these women help themselves!
I love the idea of women helping and empowering other women!

FAVORITE #5:  What I Wore to the Genesis Luncheon
Okay, so the luncheon was this past Tuesday, and I was planning on wearing THIS dress.
HOWEVER.
While putting it on that morning, I got the zipper stuck in some of the material.
I. WAS. DYING.
It wouldn’t zip up.
My internal monologue was telling me not to panic.
BUT HERE’S THE THING.
It wouldn’t zip down either.
SO I WAS IN FULL BLOWN PANIC MODE.

I ended up wiggling it off, but then I had to decide WHAT IN THE HECK I WAS GOING TO WEAR!  (Don’t worry about the dress, when I got home I was able to set the zipper free!  Whew!)
My red pants came thru for me again, and I was really happy with how this outfit came together with only seconds to spare!

I absolutely love the cut of the tank.  It’s from Banana Republic, and I don’t often shop there, but I popped in and this top spoke to me.
 I wore the heeled wedges that I got to go with THIS jumpsuit, and I loved the way they looked with the red pants.
 The brass (LOVE. THE. BRASS.) jewelry was just right and totally elevated the outfit.
The earrings are fun and dangly, and the necklace makes quite a statement!

THAT WAS STUPID.
The workout that was hard (but not deadly) for me two weeks ago
almost KILLED ME DEAD on Tuesday.

Favorite #7: These wedges

So……in honor of the sale 🙂 ……I’m going to post several of my most recent Anthro favorite finds!

Size References:  I’m wearing a small in the shirt, a 27 in the jeans, and the flats are true to size!
I paid $68 for this shirt, and it was worth every penny….but now it’s $39.95!
That’s chambray material up top, the neckline is trimmed in a darling ribbon, and the bottom is lace.
It’s a special shirt for sure!
I also got one for my mom because she loved mine so much!
And I can’t get enough of the jeans.  I paid serious money for them, but I haven’t regretted it at all.
They’re like buttah.
And the earrings?  Well, it’s bordering on ridiculous how much I wear them.  I wear the light pink ones the most for sure!

Let’s talk for a second about the jeans.
I had a gift card to Anthro that was burning a hole in my pocket.  A sales girl insisted that I try on these jeans, even though they are WAYYYYYY more than I’ve ever spent on jeans.
I tried them on, and I’ve gotta say, they’re like buttah.
They are VERY soft and fit like a glove.  They don’t sag and they stay put throughout the day.
If you are looking for a structured jean, these jeans aren’t for you.
Also, I’m almost 5’4″ and they hit me a bit above the ankle.  So if you are tall, these jeans aren’t for you either.
But if you are shorter (like me), and want an ankle length jean THAT FEELS LIKE BUTTAH….well then, you’re in luck.  🙂
For size reference, I’m wearing an X-SMALL in the tank and a 27 in the jeans.
