It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika and Andrea to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

MY BOY
Well, this week was a big week over at our house. Carter had his first 8th grade football game on Tuesday night. The players dress up on game days, and I thought he looked so sharp walking out the door for school!
He played football last year and loved it, so of course he wanted to play it again this year. He’s been working so hard and really giving 110% consistently, so he was thrilled when he found out that he got moved from B Team to A Team! He had a couple of great tackles during the game and he was on cloud 9. Now, the coaches make it clear that your position on A team is up for consideration every single week, so he has to work hard to keep his spot, but I’m looking forward to continuing to watch him fight for his place!

A GREAT FIND
I have a sponsored post coming up with Kohl’s next week, and I am PUMPED about some of the items I discovered while shopping for the post. I’ve got some great tunic sweatshirts, some awesome leggings, and a fabulous dress that I’m excited to share. And right now I’m trying to choose between keeping these sneakers (in carbon vapor pink) and these sneakers (in moonbeam black).
But I’ve got to say that this olive bomber jacket is my personal favorite. Y’ALL! IT’S SO CUTE!
The material is soft, comfy, and has just a bit of stretch in it. It’s not heavy, so it’s going to be perfect for early fall and spring as well. I have no doubt this jacket is going to be a staple piece for me. Y’all know I love the stand-up collar, and the bomber styling is super cute.
This is the “dark gray” jacket, but until I saw the color name, I was really thinking it was a dark olive green. Whatever color it is, it functions as a neutral and can basically be worn with anything. (When reading other’s reviews, it seems others think it’s more of a dark olive green as well.) It also comes in a great light grey.
I think it will be cute with regular jeans, white denim, and black denim. I’ll wear it with both boot cut jeans and straight legged jeans all fall long.

And just because I stumbled upon this and thought it was awesome…
This faux leather bomber is ON SALE and looks totally fab.

FALL BAG STRAPS
I LOVE a cross body bag strap. I’ve been wearing them for years and years, and I think they are a great way to add style and personality to your look. I love grabbing new ones for each season because they are a super affordable way to change up a bag.
Well, Social Threads just launched 5 straps that are all totally made for fall! They are my favorite source for bag straps.
Use the code STMT10 for 10% OFF your Social Threads purchase. Use it on bag straps, bags, or whatever else you find on the site.
Don’t make me choose a favorite, because I can’t. I truly love them all and can’t wait to change them out all season long.
I’ll show you several straps today styled in outfits.
This is the gold/silver/cream medallion bag strap with my messenger bag.in camel. I love it. And the straps look great with my Louis Vuitton too.
Also, this cardigan is awesome. It’s no longer available in cream, but it’s still available in 8 other awesome colors including “mocha splash” which is a great camel colored neutral. It’s super soft and under $15. I also highly recommend the relaxed fit crewneck pocket tee I’m wearing. This is the dark rose, but it comes in a myriad of colors. I’m wearing a small in the cardi and a medium in the tee.

This is the multi-stripe bag strap.
And here’s the tan/navy/cream medallion bag strap.
olive bomber jacket / relaxed fit crewneck pocket tee / chunky hoop earrings / necklace / gold bead bracelet set / must have denim shorts / white/black leather sneakers
I truly do love them all. Don’t forget to use STMT10 for 10% OFF! Oh, and if you want to throw something else in your cart….get the hoodie if you haven’t yet!
Seriously, look how cute it is.
This hoodie is PERFECT for leggings. It’s a little bit longer in the back, it has a banded hem, and it has a cute and flattering fit. It also has a kangaroo pocket and ribbed cuffs on the sleeves. See how the arms are long? That’s because they have thumbholes (you can see me showing them in the picture with the plum hoodie). If I don’t have my thumbs in the thumbholes, I typically turn them up 1 big cuff.
My favorite part of the sweatshirt is probably the snap neckline. It just makes it extra cute.

WALMART FLEECE FIND
I have a Walmart post coming up on Monday, and I am PUMPED. Y’all aren’t even going to believe all of the awesome pieces I found, but I couldn’t wait to share this fleece.
There is absolutely no denying that it is DARLING. The color blocking, the zipper, the collar! I love it all! For size reference, I’m wearing a large in this one (but I’m wearing a medium in the green one below). The large is too big for me in the arms and shoulders, so I prefer the fit of the medium.
half zip popover fleece / chunky hoop earrings / necklace / must have denim shorts
The green one is super cute too, and you can see how this one is a better fit.
half zip popover fleece / chunky hoop earrings / necklace / must have denim shorts
So I placed a HUGE Walmart order for Monday’s post, and I was soooo pumped when I got the order. I’m still waiting on some things, but I already know I love this duster cardigan, several sweaters, and even a pea coat!
I’m also VERY excited about this rainbow stitch cardigan (that is supposed to arrive later today). It looks super high end to me!

A COUPLE OF AMAZON FINDS
When I saw this cable knit pullover, I immediately knew it would be a perfect top to help transition me to early fall. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. I’m obviously wearing it here with shorts, but I think it would look great with regular denim jeans as well as my favorite grey jeans. Although, I will say this wide legged grey pair is new and looks so cute.
cable knit pullover / chunky hoop earrings / necklace / gold bead bracelet set / must have denim shorts
This fall tee is back! It’s soft, adorable, and obviously perfect for a pumpkin patch. Or a corn field. Or a state fair. #somebodyhandmeacorndog
You’ve seen the cardigan many times on the blog. This color is sold out :(, but it’s still available in black, cream, and white. Get it in at least 1 color. It’s so incredibly soft and hangs perfectly.
For size reference I’m wearing a medium in the tee (it’s the men’s tee, not the women’s tee) and a small/medium in the cardi.

RECENT NORDSTROM FINDS
I ordered this shirred cotton top because of the color. I was looking for blue tops to wear to Carter’s football games, and this was definitely a winner! It’s obviously a super relaxed and swingy fit, and I don’t love the way it looks on the model, but I gave it a shot because of the color and ended up loving it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. I definitely need a medium in the chest, but otherwise I think a small would have been just fine.
shirred cotton top / chunky hoop earrings / necklace /gold bead bracelet set / must have denim shorts / Miller slide sandals (size up a 1/2)
So I’m not totally loving this midi dress on me, but I love the idea of it and think it could be great on a lot of you! It’s insanely comfortable, I love the fall colors, and the price point is good. I love the flutter sleeves and the smocked waist, but I wish the neckline was more of a scoop or a split neck. I have a totally short torso and basically no neck, so other necklines look better on me.
midi dress / long necklace / booties
This collared sweater is adorable. ADORABLE. It’s got a bit of a relaxed fit (I don’t often enjoy a fitted sweater), the sleeves are a little bit longer with a banded cuff, and it has a banded waistband as well. I LOVE IT. It of course looks great with these dressy slacks, but it will be so cute with straight legged jeans and mules or booties as well. It would even look great dressed way down with sneakers.
It’s hard to tell, but these ponte pants have a subtle charcoal plaid pattern. They are from Wit and Wisdom, so they have all of the stretchiness and mold and hold technology that we love. AND THEY ARE STUPID COMFORTABLE. If you love the black pants that I scream and shout about, you’re probably going to want to grab these as well. I recommend that pretty much everybody should size down in the black pants, but only size down in the ones below if you are often between sizes. At 5’4″, they aren’t as cropped on me as they are on the model.
collared sweater / earrings / long necklace / ponte pants / similar black pumps
This puff-sleeve sweater comes in 4 colors, and although short sleeved it is still quite warm, so you might want to wait until cooler temps to wear it. It has a puffed and pleated sleeve, and a banded hem on each sleeve and at the waist. The sweater is fitted, but not tight. For size reference I’m wearing a medium.
puff-sleeve sweater / earrings / long necklace / ponte pants / similar black pumps
I LOVE that the jeans have such a fun cropped fit, the wide banded hem, and the step hem.
In addition to all of the fun style elements, they also have the Ab-Solution mold and hold technology that I pretty much have to have in all of my jeans now. What can I say, I WANT MY JEANS TO MOLD ME AND HOLD ME. 😉 I’m wearing my regular size 4, but they were quite snug.
The utility jacket is lightweight with a super relaxed fit. I love the color and the exaggerated collar. I’m wearing a medium, but I think I need a small.
banded muscle tee / utility jacket / fray hem kick flare jeans / plaid mules
These joggers aren’t your typical soft cotton knit joggers, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not awesome. They have a cuffable tapered leg and an adjustable drawcord waist add classic features to these lightweight yet durable pants with two-way stretch. I’m wearing the olive, but they come in blush too. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
As you can see, these would be great for all day wear when running around town. I even think teachers could wear them on non jeans days too!
denim jacket / banded muscle tee / joggers / sneakers

RANDOM AMAZON FINDS
It’s been September for a week now, and I’ve been burning candles every waking hour at home. I love a cozy and yummy smelling home.
I found and bought some candle burning accessories and both finds are AWESOME.
The candle accessory set has everything you need to keep your wick trimmed easily and your candle debris free. The electric candle lighter is such a fun little gadget that can be recharged!

If you are ready for a fall candle, you can easily grab this Swan Creek Honey Soaked Apple candle on Amazon. This is a candle that Chris keeps in his office, and he’s never even burned it. When he wants the room to smell nice, all he does is take the top off the candle. SERIOUSLY. Maybe he’ll burn it someday. Or maybe not. #onlytimewilltell

BESTIES
No, I didn’t pose this photo.
Yes, Charlie loves to cuddle.
And yes, he puts his head on pillows like he’s a human. These two boys love each other so much.
And another picture of Charlie, because have you ever seen anything so cute? Carter was having a little fun. Doesn’t he look so regal? Haha! (And don’t worry about Buddy, he runs the show around here, he just didn’t happen to be in pics this week.)

ANOTHER SHEET PAN DINNER
This is very similar to a meal I shared a couple of weeks ago, but this time I used Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage from Trader Joe’s. Veggies included squash, zucchini, leftover green beans, and butternut squash. The meal is delicious, and clean-up is an absolute breeze.

AMAZON BEAUTY FAVORITES
All of these Amazon beauty favorites are TRIED AND TRUE!!!
In my last What’s Up Wednesday post, I told y’all I had just ordered and received this battery operated facial hair remover. It gets the peach fuzz off of my face sooooooooooo much better than the dermaplaning razors I had been using. Seriously, you need to try it. So easy to use, and so satisfying to see the results! Skincare products will absorb better and makeup will go on better.
battery operated facial hair remover
This acrylic organizer is under $10 and it’s perfect for organizing all sorts of different items that need to stand up. I have Colleen Rothschild products and eye makeup products such as cream eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyelash primer, brow pencils, and mascara.
Now listen, I’m well aware that I have way more products than the average girl, but it’s because I order a ton of products to review for beauty posts. I do constant clean-outs and share products with lots of friends and family, so what you’ll see in the next couple of pictures are actually products that I love and use at least semi-regularly (which is why they are sitting on my counter).
This spinning makeup organizer makes it SO EASY to see and access your products. The shelves are adjustable, which makes it very simple to organize them, and I love spinning the organizer around to find what I need.
I also highly recommend my magnified mirror. I’ve had this mirror since April of 2019 and it still works beautifully. And it has EXCELLENT reviews. 1 side is regular magnification, and the other side is 7x magnification. Both sides can be lit with the touch of a button, and you will be both delighted and horrified at what you see. 🙂
magnified mirror / spinning makeup organizer
Because I have sooooooo many products, I also utilize this makeup organizer. The products on the top are products I use daily, and the products in the drawers are ones that I like to keep close, but I’m not reaching for them every single day. Obviously everything is still easily accessible.
I truly couldn’t live without these organizers. I can’t even imagine what a mess my bathroom would be.

We’re about to wrap things up here, but I want to highlight some of my favorite Amazon beauty products that I keep in these organizers.
I use these Dime Power Patches to treat any blemish as soon as I notice one starting to pop up. I use them overnight, and when I wake up, impurities have been sucked out of my face and onto the patch. It’s a thing of wonder, y’all.
I heard other influencers talk about these for years, and I finally took the plunge.
They are meant to tighten your jawline, and I really do notice a difference when I use them.
The brand I’ve ordered 3x now is no longer available, but I went to Kathleen Jenning’s beauty page and saw that she gives this product Holy Grail status.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. If you don’t have and use this Kenra blow dry spray and heat protectant, you need to make it right. EVERYBODY that styles with heat needs to be using a heat protectant, and I’d use this one for the smell alone. It smells lovely. The ratings are truly fantastic. It will help protect your hair, and most find they have less fly aways and it helps dry their hair faster and makes it softer.
Kenra blow dry spray and heat protectant
This elta md tinted moisturizer is a product I use every single day. I slap it on right after I wash my face. I literally don’t go a day without it. Even when I don’t wear makeup, and even when I don’t plan on being in the sun, I still put it on. Even sun that gets to your face through your car window can cause sun damage, and I just paid alot of money to get rid of my sun damage, so I’m not taking any chances.
You can see in my shots above that I have TONS of Colleen Rothschild products in my organizers that I use every single day. You can click HERE for all the weekend beauty deals at Colleen Rothschild. There are 6 items this weekend with SPECIAL SAVINGS, including some of my favorites. If you are a skincare junkie, or if you are just starting to dip your toe into the skincare world, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND just hopping over to Colleen Rothschild. Read the product descriptions, read the product reviews, and see if anything interests you based upon your needs!

That’s all for today, ladies!
Tomorrow is Carter’s 14th birthday party, and we are going to the OU game to celebrate. I hope you have a fun weekend with your friends and family too!
Shay Shull says
Carter looked SO sharp before his game! He also looked very much like an almost high schooler. How fun are these football games?!
Erika Slaughter says
Yay, Carter!! And that pic of him and Charlie almost makes me want a dog. Almost.
Jen says
Oohh…can’t wait for that Kohl’s post! I shop there a TON for my entire family…love it! But they have SO many things that I always feel like I’ve only seen half of them, LOL. Looking forward to seeing what you found! Have a great weekend, Sheaffer! Thanks for all the fun and positivity you put out into the world!
Sheaffer says
They always have a ton of great Under Armour stuff for Carter, and I got Chris some great Father’s Day gifts last year, but I’ve ever really shopped there for myself. UNTIL NOW! I’m obsessed with the bomber jacket I showed today, and I got 4 colors of the tunic sweatshirt I’m going to highlight. Haha! 🙂 xoxo
Sheaffer says
And Jen, thank you so much for the super kind words. They meant a lot! xoxo
Leah Z says
Fun fact about the electric candle lighter – I got one for my husband for Christmas and it apparently emits a very high pitched sound when it’s being used. My kids can hear it and come running for me to turn it off! Kind of like a dog whistle? But we’ve tested it and it doesn’t bug adults’ ears, just kids! Just a fun party trick. 🙂
Sheaffer says
That’s hysterical, Leah! Will definitely test this! Haha! 🙂
BF says
Hi Sheaffer! I’m curious about the treatments you had done to remove sun damage. Was it laser treatments? What was it called? Did it help? How careful do you have to be when in the sun after? Thanks! 😊😊
Sheaffer says
I’ve done 3 treatments with an IPL laser. It helped tremendously!!!!! I still have 1 more treatment to go in the package I bought, but I’m extremely pleased with the results 3 treatments in. My first highlight on instastories is titled “IPL laser” and it talks about it. I need to update with my current results! xoxo
Andrea says
I almost had a mini panic attack this week when I saw someone on Instagram say they were getting rid of all their skinny jeans. I’m working in some other styles, but the skinny jean has my heart and is definitely the most flattering fit for my body type. What are your thoughts?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Andrea! They are still in the stores and I’ll still be wearing them. However, I do find myself reaching for other styles more often right now, but skinny jeans will always have my heart, and I think I’ll always wear them in rotation as well! xoxo
MindaC says
Happy Birthday Carter!
Looking forward to the Kohls post! I have always bought a ton of my son’s clothes there but I feel overwhelmed tried to find something for me. They have great home goods and decor too.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Minda! I get that. It really is pretty overwhelming, but I’m going to do all the hard work for you! I found some awesome pieces! xoxo
Lindsay says
Love the post! What size did you get in the bomber jacket from kohl’s?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lindsay! So sorry! It’s a medium! xoxo
