You can’t say it’s not informative.
A couple of weeks ago Chris and I headed to the I pic theatre in Fairvew for dinner and a movie.
It was just a simple outfit, but I loved it just as much as you guys!
I love this shirt, and I have worn it consistently for many years.

Vigoss Jeans| Nordstrom,
non-distressed version of the MUST HAVE jeans HERE (still cuffed and oh so cute!)
*I bought the non-distressed version in a 27 (just like my other Vigoss),
and I found them to be a little bit more snug. Another reviewer said the same thing.
Click HERE for all Vigoss choices.
(Honest to heavens, I have tried on most of them, and loved all of them.)
Click HERE for a Vigoss plus-sized jean that is so cute!
My short necklace is the soar necklace HERE, and I added C and S charms HERE.
(The names in my little family are Sheaffer, Chris, Carter, and Scout…so “S” and “C” cover all of us!)
Both the green and the brown sides are both SO pretty, and it makes the piece so versatile!
This necklace isn’t cheap, but it gives you a lot of bang for you buck!
(You can also shorten it and have a double layered look.)
And for all you doubters out there about the MUST HAVE jeans…
Please read the following e-mail.
Kim’s official statement regarding the Vigoss jeans:
Hi Sheaffer!
have a confession: I’m a bit of a jean snob. I love the way premium
denim fits, how soft it is and how long it lasts. So, while I always
thought the must have Vigoss jeans looked great on you, I just assumed
they wouldn’t work for me because I have such a hard time getting
cheaper jeans to fit/feel right. I’ve been on the search for some
distressed skinny jeans and really didn’t want to spend the designer
price tag for everyday jeans since I’m on the floor with my kids all
day. SO when I was in Nordstrom today I tried on the must haves and I
LOVED THEM. I loved them even more when I got them home tonight and
started trying them on with my clothes. They are so cute! I’m tempted
to go buy another pair. Now I have all the must haves except the
wedges. Clearly, I shouldn’t doubt you and should probably go buy the
shoes
immediately 🙂
Kim!
I am sooooo happy you took the time to write this e-mail!
I think there is no better endorsement for these jeans than a self-proclaimed jean snob who is used to paying 4-5x the price of these jeans for her designer jeans giving her stamp of approval!
She is now admitting that these jeans are AMAZING and hopefully helping all of the other jean snobs out there realize that great jeans don’t have to cost a fortune! 🙂
Thank You Kim!
You have done a valuable service! Ha!
😉
THESE NEXT TWO E-MAILS WERE ADDED TO THE POST AT 6:15 a.m. this morning.
They were the first two comments left, and I thought they deserved to be in the post too.

As another jean snob, I must admit…those jeans are pretty darn
perfect. The problem with buying cheaper jeans is that they usually
lose their shape and sag…but these Vigoss jeans don’t do any of that!
I am a believer!

I’m a total jean snob too, and Shaeffer isn’t kidding. These jeans are
incredible. They hold their shape and are so flattering! I’ve
recommended them to lots of my jean snob friends, and everybody loves
them. In fact, I like them so much that I bought 3 pair (the boot cut,
the clean version with the cuffs, and a light pair of distressed skinny
jeans). Hey, I can buy 3 pair and spend less than I normally do on one
pair of jeans. THAT’S a deal.
Thanks for sharing them with us!
Michelle R.
p.s. I’m 27, but my mom (who is 53) bought a pair and they look fantastic on her too!
Click HERE for the cuffed jeans that are NOT distressed.
The boot cut jeans are HERE (with the awesome pockets).
The light colored distressed skinny jeans are HERE.
Distressed cuffed HERE (but almost sold out and probably not restocking).
(If you didn’t see it, check it out for a butt shot of the boot cuts!)
Okay, enough about the jeans,
Let’s get back to one of my favorite shirts in my closet.
I found myself wearing the shirt again this week, again with the necklace….
but styled in a different way.
Instead of jeans and wedges, I paired it with my jacket, a distressed pair of khakis, my nude flats, and my sparkly bracelet.
I loved this combo too!
MUST HAVE denim jacket HERE in Large and X-Large at Nordstrom
HERE in XS, L, and XL at Zappos
Sanibel pendant HERE.
Click HERE for my favorite new bracelet! It’s so sparkly and pretty!
Click HERE for my nude flats.
The distressed khakis are from LOFT from several years ago.
A current option (that isn’t distressed) HERE that is 50% off!
Khakis with zipper pockets HERE.
HERE is an option from LOFT that is very similar to mine. Love the cufffed bottoms.
After 5 years of having it, I am still totally in love with my sleeveless graphic shirt.
So, I thought I would try to find some great bold patterned sleeveless options for you
ladies to choose from!
(Until last year, I only wore sleeveless shirts in the heat of
summer. However, last year I changed my way of thinking. I now wear
sleeveless shirts year round because they are great layering pieces.
So, these next options (although sleeveless) can be worn all year long!
My favorite polka dot top HERE.
I have one very similar to this and I LOVE it. It is great on it’s own and fabulous under a blazer, cardigan, or denim jacket.
Click HERE for a great leopard print from LOFT that has a fun and flirty little sleeve.
Michael Kors graphic wrap top HERE
MK plus size option HERE
Graphic peplum blouse HERE
Here are some other sleeveless options that are not graphic, but still awesome:
floral top HERE (I think this would look great with a blazer!)
solid color option HERE
ALL sleeveless blouses and shells from LOFT HERE.
So, that’s it for today!
I’m curious…which outfit do you like better?
Look #1 OR Look #2?

Fellow ex-jean snob here. I recently sold all of the premium denim that I had. I'll still pay more for a great fit but brands like Vigoss are just as good as the more expensive labels. My daughter has a few pairs and they have held up incredibly well!

I just love your blog and I have recommended it to all my Fashionista Sistas! I like look #1 the best. Maybe that's only because it isoooo hot to be wearing a jacket right now here in Louisiana!!

It's hard to choose between those 2 oufits…I love them both!!! You are just so little & cute, everything looks good on you 🙂
Susan Jeffries says
those jeans are fabulous! I am over 40 now and finding great jeans (that are not cut super low) is really difficult! Thanks for being one of my go-to blogs for shopping! And I am still loving my putty wedges!! Score! Susan

Hi Sheaffer! This was a toughie, but I think I like look #1. I like the contrast of the dark jeans. Speaking of the jeans, my plus sized pair arrived yesterday! I buy my jeans at Wal-Mart, so you can imagine my trepidation with these jeans. "Are they worth the money?" "Will they fit right?" I ordered two sizes smaller than the pair of jeans I wore last Friday. I'm on a weight loss plan and those jeans were already way too big. I thought, "I'm going to continue this plan, so I'll order the size 14 and save them for a month from now.
Terrie Mathison says
I just ordered the jeans yesterday! Cant wait for them to arrive. Love outfit #1 but both are super cute!
Danielle says
I love that outfit! So sad the loft shirt is from 5 years ago! Love the jeans too. I'm totally convinced I need them for fall!
Liz/happymommy says
Love outfit #1, can never go wrong with a pair of distressed jeans and I have to admit I don't think I have ever seen a distressed pair of khakis before…..interesting but cute! Loving your bracelet too! Can I just come over and raid your closet, please and thank you!!!
Sarah says
I ordered the jeans but they fit and I'm 8.5 months pregnant, I returned them and I just ordered two more of them when they became available in the size that I actually need. I just know that they're going to fit when I get back to pre-preggo size. Can't wait to actually try them on! Love the outfit too, that pendant is amazing, love that it's two sided.
Tamara @ The Workout Mama says
I love those jeans!!!! They look so comfy! I recently bought the Lauren Conrad skinny jeans and I am in love with them, plus they have cute little white washed hearts all over them.

Just got my Kimberly necklace in the mail yesterday. Can't wait to wear it. And how did I not know that the Sanibel necklace was reversible?!?! That's genius! And it looks super cute with your 5 year old shirt. You gotta love that!!

Love look #1! After reading every post and email I am taking the plunge and ordering those jeans!! 🙂

Another jean snob here….I LOVE the Vigoss jeans…LOVE them!!! I ordered the non-distressed and I'm seriously thinking of ordering another pair!!!
I must also go check out Stella and Dot as well since I don't own any of their jewelry. 🙂
Look #1 is my fav!! Love it and you are so cute!!
Sarah E @ theteacherswife.com says
I loved the date night outfit – I can see why you got all the likes! I love how you wear cute clothes but also do such a good job of "completing" the outfits right down to every accessory – it totally makes a difference! I am in love with the polka dot shirt too!
Here's my thing though…..we are on an extremely tight budget so I need to find a way to get some of these super duper cute and good quality clothes for a much cheaper price! Your posts are amazing inspiration, but even with the sales, they are still too much for my budget at this point! 🙁 {and I don't mean that in a woe is me sort of way}. I need to get creative and find a way to get some of these good staple pieces that I know I'd wear forever!
Tricia says
You could try recreating the looks using thrift store items. I've also had good luck at places like Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and even Target. Have fun bargain shopping!
Jen Pogue says
That date night outfit was HOT! Maybe next time you should post if after your movie. 😉 I'm a total jean snob too, and you've convinced me to try your must-have jeans on once my kids are back in school next week!
I'm totally loving that polka-dot top. It remind me of the scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts goes to the polo match in a brown, polka-dot dress. 🙂 And, I bought the S&D pendant necklace a few weeks ago and I'm swooning over it!
Krystal pate says
Hi Shaeffer: I am new to your blog thanks to my awesome sister- in law Tracy Boyle ( who by the way has a cool blog The – byrds -nest). I have shopped more in two weeks because of her and you than I have all year. It has been a blast.
You have a cute ring on in the pictures above but you did not mention on where you purchased? Also, any tips for organizing your jewelry? I have a lot of jewelry and it is out of control!!
Erin Stinson says
Hi Sheaffer! I love BOTH looks but if I had to choose, look # 1 is winning, but just ever so slightly! You have recently started including plus size versions of your choices, and I wanted to say thanks for that. I've noticed and appreciate you looking out for those of us that aren't tiny 🙂 I do not own any S&D jewelry, but seeing that Kimberly necklace show up so often in your looks is really making me consider the investment!
{Hi Sugarplum!} says
You look so super cute in that outfit!! And I'm a convert of those vigoss jeans, too! and ps — you know you can change your IG settings so you don't get notifications, right? 😉 I just check them manually when I have a moment.

For those of you with little girls, I saw Vigoss jeans at Sam's of all places in toddler and little girl sizes. They had colored denim as well as traditional. I think they were around $12.95.

Love look #1, dying over that necklace! Also ordered the Vigoss jeans, am trying to find the right fit, am on 3rd pair of boot cut style. Having to size down, whohoo!

I absolutely love both outfits from head to toe!!! wondering what the second option would look like with a colored jean/pant – could be cute… just a thought! Thank you so much for all the great styling ideas for the camo pants. I had the ones from GAP last year but I got these today because I love the zipper pockets. I wore the same size as I did last year. They fit perfect – I love them. They actually gave me 30% off when I bought them and I had a $20 rewards coupon so they were like half price! I can't wait to wear them this fall now that I have so many options to choose from. I follow several fashion blogs but yours is by far my favorite. Thanks again!
