Tell me how perfect this outfit looks.
brown, black, stripes, a scarf, and pearls
Love all of it!
It just looks so COZY!
It just looks so COZY!
When I pinned this outfit, I didn’t know exactly what I was going to pull from my closet, but I figured the outfit was just made up of a lot of good basics, and surely I had items that I could make work.
I knew I wanted stripes, and I knew I wanted to stick to the color inspiration.
I really liked the brown, black, grey, and tan all together.
I couldn’t make my tan colored scarf look right….so I subbed in a grey scarf…
but I put on a tan colored tank to make sure I stayed true to the color palette (and to add much needed length since I was wearing leggings).

Striped Sweater| Banana Republic (probably 10 years old), similar HERE
Black Leggings| Francesca’s,
{However, I’m thinking about buying THESE leggings from Nordstrom!! My ones from Francesca’s are a little thin, and I read all of the reviews on this pair online and everybody seems to love them. 96% of the people that reviewed them would recommend them to a friend!

Cami| Old Navy
Scarf| Christmas gift from a teacher I work with!
Brown boots| Nordstrom, exact pair HERE
These boots are a really great light brown color that contrast very well against black!
They are also SUPER comfortable, and I love the little bit of height the wedge gives me.
They are a plain and simple boot that contrast really well again dark jeans and black leggings making an outfit more interesting!
Before I walked out to meet some friends and their kids for a playdate, I changed scarves (it was very cold out and I wanted the additional warmth) and added a cardigan.
I also threw on my new bracelet and thought I would show you guys my new purse again.
I love THIS bag more and more each time I carry it.
The leather is distressing quite nicely already (which I love!),
and it just looks better and better with each passing day.
So, I’m interested….how many of you are wearing leggings?
I remember I was so nervous to wear them the first couple of times as pants…but now I’m used to it.
Are you rocking leggings?
Or are you still scared?
See you ladies back tomorrow for my newest obsessions!

Didn't I challenge you to mix brown and grey? I think I did. And you nailed it. Loved this look! I especially love the layers up top. It looks easy and relaxed but very stylish at the same time. Bravo!

One of my favorites yet. So darn cozy and cute! I really need you to come by and give me a scarf tying lesson. 🙂
Also, I like the items displayed in the bigger block. Cute picks today!

Super cute! I have a love/hate relationship with leggings. Mostly because I have a love/hate (more hate than love) relatinship with my thighs. I was totally prepared to do my first WIW Wednesday and realized I could completely not figure out how to take a picture of myself on my iPhone (don't judge . . . but you can laugh). I looked back at your blog several (dozen) times for reference and never got it right! Help a girl out! btw—your friend Andrea is doing a blog refresh for me. It's not up yet–but I am soooo excited!

Love this out fit. I am in the no leggings yet camp, but seeing this outfit really makes me think twice. LOVE IT! I knew we had similar tastes in clothes…finally something to pin to pinterest that I think is actually doable. Also I like the second way better, only becasue I"m lazy and the want to see everything at once 🙂

I have pinned that outfit on Pinterest too. I love it. Your look turned out so cute.

Love the outfit. I am getting into the leggings grove, in fact I immediately bought a pair of HUE black leggings because of your recommendation and I LOVE them. They are the right amount of thickness and do not sag at the knees by the end of the day! My only problem with leggings is finding a top long enough to cover my tush. I love the look of an oversized sweater, like in the pinned outfit, however, it is soooo hard to find one that is not too boxy and sloppy looking. Btw…I like viewing the pics in the bigger blocks.

Afraid to wear leggings? Surely you jest! I wear them a lot and make sure my butt is decently covered. I think that's the key.
I feel like I never read you anymore! ={ I've been doing a lot of my reading through Bloglovin', and although I'm following you on there, your posts aren't comign up. HELP!

I like this outfit! (more with the 2nd scarf). I love wearing leggings with a long shirt. My problem is always finding shoes to go with the leggings. Are boots the only way to go?

Sheaffer, I've been reading your blog ever since Mix and Match Mama introduced you! Anyway, I happen to be looking over Emily Maynard's twitter account and she posted a picture of herself with some moccasin boots. Someone had asked her where she got the sweater she was wearing from and she said from Spool 72. I happened to check out the site and they have unique and affordable clothing and accessories! Since you love accessories, you should check out that site! http://www.spool72.com

I must admit I haven't purchased any leggings yet. I have TONS of skinny jeans/skinny cords/skinny pants, but since I just had a baby 5 months ago, I am not ready to buy leggings….that would be scary. LOL!!!!
And, I LOVE the outfit. I also have it pinned!!!! Great mind think alike 🙂
Also, I like the way the items show up all at once so you don't have to scroll!

I love love love your blog and have been reading for a few months now…OBSESSED 🙂 But I just thought I would share my deal of the day for any other LEOPARD lovers out there to take advantage of. Target has their ADORABLE LEOPARD WEDGES for….drum roll please…$14.99. That is basically stealing them 🙂
Much love,

Totally love leggings1 They are so comfortable but you have to cover yourself! I teach high school and we are battling girls wearing leggings as pants. Thought it was a young girl thing but over the holidays I saw more and more older women wearing them this way. I am from the camp of leggings are not pants. Cover your tush and crotch! And leggings are not all made the same. Some are thick and oh wow when they are thin and worn this way!

I like viewing the items all at once (the 2nd set of pics).

I love the look of leggings! I want to do this but where do you find tops long enought to cover the booty? I work in an elementary school so I have to make sure I am covered! I like the pictures the 2nd way!
Team Seghs says
2nd way, top to bottom
And I found a great pair of legging/pants at Ross recently for $18 and I looooove them. They aren't thin like a legging, so they really are a pant and I feel fine even without my booty being fully covered. Hue leggings are great, more like a pant legging. But I have some true leggings and I cant wear them without a shirt that completely covers my rump. I mean, you can almost see through them on my thigh just standing there so I can only imagine the show on my hiney if I bent over…

Great outfit! And I like the grey scarf better anyway. Tan is really hard to wear next to the face unless the contrast is just right. 😉 And I love leggings as long as my rear is covered! 😉

Great use of a bunch of different basics! I think you nailed copy-cat-ing that look. 🙂

This outfit is PERFECTION!!! Love it from head to toe.
