Today’s post is sponsored by Walmart and ShopStyle. The product selections are my own, and I only highlight and promote pieces that I truly love. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Sheaffer Told Me To!
*This post was written and scheduled to publish before I left town on Friday with my family. When on vacation, we learned of the tragic events in both El Paso and Dayton. Our hearts are heavy. We have prayed and will continue to pray for the families that are forever changed.*
Did y’all see Part 1 of my BACK TO SCHOOL post last week? When it went live, I didn’t even know there was going to be a Part II.
But the post was so well received by y’all and I got tons of great feedback on the blog and social, so here we are! So many of you were pumped to find that the clothes I had picked out for Carter were not just great deals, they were also super cute and both mom and kid approved.
So last week I shared a couple of super comfy looks with vintage looking tees and pull on shorts in different colors. The looks were perfect for school and just hanging out at home. Y’all know that Carter is ALL ABOUT COMFY and comes by his love of an elastic waistband honestly, so he was a huge fan of the clothes last week.
HOWEVER.
Much to Carter’s dismay, sometimes occasions arise that require a button….or a zipper….or a collar. He always refers to these types of clothes as church clothes (even if he’s not heading to church), but really, they are just regular ol’ clothes. Well, I found a great selection at Walmart, and they happen to be both super cute and very inexpensive. I thought Carter looked great last week, but this week I’m super excited about the clothes because my little man looks SHARP in them!
There’s just something about a little boy young man in a collared shirt, and you’re not going to believe the deal I’ve got for you. These polos are great quality, come in a variety of colors, and are UNDER $10 for a 2 pack! I mean, how is that even possible?
collared shirt / belted shorts / sneakers (toddler version HERE)
These shorts come in 3 colors, and the belt totally makes the look. And get this, they are only $12!
I introduced these sneakers in last week’s post, and I’ve received several e-mails from readers that picked these up for their kids and are thrilled with the quality. I grabbed these sneakers for Carter because I liked the look of them, and he loves the comfort level. They are very lightweight, and do you see the heel? That’s like a thick band of elastic, so they fit like a glove! They also come in toddler sizes HERE.

This outfit is perfect for church, various types of special events, and school picture day! And kids that aren’t overly obsessed with extreme levels of comfy could of course wear this on just a regular school day as well! Ha!
Doesn’t my little man look sharp?

You might have learned in the last post that we like no brainer outfits over here when it comes to Carter. I like him to be able to pull outfits to throw on that don’t require any thought, and solid color tees and shorts make getting dressed easy.
collared shirt / belted shorts / sneakers (HERE)
This is the exact same outfit as above, but we switched out the navy shirt for a light blue, and we switched out the blue shorts for khaki.

This last outfit features a pair of shorts that both Carter and I love.
They have an elastic waistband, so they get Carter’s stamp of approval. And they look like a pair of regular khaki shorts, which I love. They come in 4 colors, have perfect reviews, and are UNDER $9. What’s not to love!
v neck tee / hoodie (another hoodie with better stock HERE)/ pull on shorts / sneakers
The hoodie comes in 2 colors, is very lightweight, and is a great top layer to have.

This kid.
I love him so much it hurts.

You can see from this picture that he could just as easily pair these shorts with a collared shirt for a dressier look! I have no doubt he’ll be wearing these to church now that we’ve scored a couple of pairs. You’d never know they were an elastic waistband.

Connor looks adorable in all of those photos!
And my heart is heavy too after this weekend’s tragic events. Just so sad.

SO Cute! Wal-Mart has the cutest clothes for kid right now!
Shay Shull says
Carter in blue is like you in red…they just go together PERFECTLY!
Erika Slaughter says
What a CUTIE that Carter is! And how mortified would he be if he heard me say that? hahaha!
Evan says
Thanks for some options for kids on the “comfy crew.” Wondering how you’re finding the sizing on those shorts. I have trouble finding shorts that fits my boys in the waist and usually size down but then have to worry about length. Did you size up or down for Carter?
Sheaffer says
We always size down for carter, so we sized down in these too. I would say true to size, whatever that is!
Susan S. Dobbs says
Gosh, he’s just adorable! But as a boy mom, I must ask did you have to pay him to pose for you? Ha ha!!! My son HATES having his picture taken. Thanks for sharing your handsome boy with us! 🙂
Susan
Sheaffer says
Hi, Susan! Yes, we pay him usually with an item that he’s been wanting that we’ve said “no” to in the past. 🙂 He always helps with a good attitude, but I’m sure that’s because he knows he’s going to be rewarded somehow if he keeps that good attitude! xoxo, Sheaffer
Erica says
Is Carter wearing socks or no socks with these shoes? If so can you share a link?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Erica! He is wearing socks…but I don’t remember what brand. He has and wears lots of different brands of short socks. I think these were either Under Armour or from The Gap. xoxo
Laurie S says
Your boy is growing up into a young man so fast! Very handsome, too. Have you thought about having him do some modeling – you’ve given him experience, etc.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Laurie! You’re too sweet, but I wouldn’t say that he enjoys having his picture taken. Definitely not something he would like to do on the regular. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Your Carter looks great!! Wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU for all your hard work on the Anniversary Sale. I really needed new jeans for the fall and thanks to you they are in my closet ready to go….two pairs delivered to my door and I really like both! Thanks for all you do?
