Which is CRAZY!
Because basically we’ll turn around and it will be November 2nd. Which means I’ll be panicking because I haven’t bought even 1 Christmas present yet.
Yeah. Welcome to my mind. Welcome to crazy town.
It’s April 2nd, and I somehow just managed to have a mild panic attack about Christmas.
🙂
As always, I am partnering up with Shay at Mix and Match Family and Mel at The Larson Lingo and hoping that all of you will join in the fun!
If you’ve been following this blog
for awhile, you will remember that last year I found and fell in love
with a neutral colored blazer (it sold out quickly, so lots of you
missed out on it). Boo!

Isn’t it great?
I absolutely LOVE the look!
I
wore it sooooo much last year. Pretty much anytime I was going to be
going somewhere that the people there hadn’t already seen me in this
outfit, I wore it.
I felt the outfit needed as much exposure as possible. 🙂
Yep,
even after we are nearing the 2 year anniversary of the blog, it still
definitely remains in my TOP 3 FAVORITE outfit recreations.
Want to get the above look for yourself?
I don’t blame you.
This time I put together a collage and source list for you!
EVEN THE COLLAGE LOOKS SHARP AND POLISHED. 🙂
blazer HERE (It’s pricey, but it has five 5 STAR reviews!)
white t-shirt HERE
adelaide hoops HERE/ kimberly necklace HERE
bootcut jeans HERE/ gold fossil watch HERE / MUST HAVE wedges HERE
girl Pinterest convinced me that it was! Pinterest is
just about as bossy as I am.
Do you need more convincing that you too in fact need a neutral blazer?
Well, here you go.
SO sorry, but I made this collage over a year ago for my first neutral blazer post, before I knew how important it was to include image sources. |
There are only 5 reviews on this blazer, but all 5 reviews are 5 STAR.
Here’s one of them:
I
have tried on several other blazers (Halogen, Anne Klein, Jones NY,
etc) and none of them have held a candle to this style. I love that it
has a structured professional look but not so much that I can’t wear it
out for cocktails with a pair of jeans. The fit is true to size. Loving
the attention to detail on the insides of the sleeves.
market for a new blazer I definitely recommend trying this one on.
a different review talks about how cute the striped lining is on the
sleeve and how it looks great with the sleeve is rolled up. Love it.
Not great. But okay. A little Miami Vice-ish if you know what I mean. 🙂
So, I’ve been on a hunt for the perfect white pair of jeans.
AND I’M TELLING YOU, I MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A UNICORN.
BECAUSE GREAT WHITE JEANS ARE HARD TO FIND.
After trying on probably close to 25 pairs of white jeans (over several different days), I did find 3 pair that I thought were worth sharing. Those white jeans will be on the blog next week!
having you in my and life, but rest assured that I’ve now seen the
error of my ways and I am going to make up for lost time.
Sheaffer
(And
fyi: I want to be that girl carrying the striped tote and the pink
flowers. But if I were her, I would most likely take off that hat.)

Ooh!
I found a New to Nordstrom blazer option that is by the same maker of my actual
oatmeal colored blazer (in the pics above) and it’s 1/2 the price of the one I highlighted above!
I couldn’t get the picture of the oatmeal blazer to save, but here is the same blazer in the pink.
And can we all agree that it is precious in pink too? Love how it’s styled in the picture below.
The reviews on this one aren’t great, but at almost 1/2 the price I thought it was worth a mention.
I feel like this jacket runs on the small side, and I have a medium.
So because of the poor reviews, I knew I needed to get myself to Nordstrom to try them on for all of you ladies. It definitely runs small (and there are small shoulder pads in the blazer), but I still think the overall fit is very cute. Don’t y’all?
LOTS of good news in the VIGOSS (maker of the MUST HAVE jeans) world today!
Click HERE for their long cut off shorts.
These are a great alternative for those of you that want a cool pair of cut-offs, but don’t like short shorts! Love the distressing.
And check THESE out. As soon as they went 40% off, I scooped them up!
The embroidery on the side kept me from paying full price because I knew I wouldn’t wear them as frequently as the “plain” ones, but at $38 there were no more excuses!
I got them in the mail just last night and put them on after the little guy and I got home from soccer practice. Which explains my crazy hair, lack of make-up, no shoes, and overall general lovely appearance. 😉
And when searching for the links for the above Vigoss products, I saw that THESE are newly available (thanks to a reader hint from Anna P. telling me to check them out!).
They look like they are the EXACT fit of the original MUST HAVE, they are just a super dark denim. And I LOVE a super dark denim. I think dark denim like this is great for day wear, but it’s also perfection for wearing at night. It’s just all in how you style them!
If you have the original MUST HAVES and would like to add the dark version, click HERE.
If you missed out on the original MUST HAVES and have always felt left out, get the dark version by clicking HERE. Welcome to our MUST HAVE jeans club. 🙂
Now scroll back up and look at the picture of the blogger (who looks like Cindi Crawford) in her dark denim, dark tank, and neutral blazer. PERFECT for a night on the town!
I also tried on and loved THIS infinite possibility t-shirt found HERE.
Now it’s your turn to link up!
I can’t wait to check out how all of you girls were Pin-spired!

Girl…you can rock a blazer like no one's business!!! You look super cute in both outfits!!
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
SO many great outfit ideas! Really love that pretty pink one too.

I recognize two of the bloggers that you have used their pictures, you have used Marionberry Style twice (the pink and red with the tan blazer & jeans with the tan blazer) and Putting me Together (first picture at the top left of the collage).
AND you have inspired me to pull out my tan pinstripe blazer and create a look!
Amy Kleis says
OMG….I literally just bought a neutral blazer last week and was torn on the whole Miami Vice look alike, but I am soo glad that you just did this post, because I am one of those buy NOW and then put together later!!!! So I USE you as my go to put it together woman! But I am admitting that I use you in the nicest way!!! I am so excited now to wear it! Funny a couple years ago I had a bin upstairs in my attic that had several jackets from when I used to be in the corporate world and I donated all of them saying "I don't need these anymore", I could kick myself now!!! Seriously ladies, hang on to all your stuff, it comes back in style before you know it!!!!
SarahN says
I'm loving those distressed shorts! I might have to pull the trigger on those. And speaking of Vigoss, my light wash must have jeans came in yesterday – LOVE! Perfect for spring! (Even if I might have still worn them with Uggs….stupid winter won't leave here)

Love love love this post!

I need an opinion! I want to order the Vigoss embroidered jeans. I am petite and a size 6, what size shoul I order? I see the chart on the order page but I need some trusted input! Many, many thanks!!!!!!!
Aimee says
Love all your recent spring posts – especially this one. Perfect for transition. Pulled together yet casual enough.
Sara says
How do the Vigoss jeans run? So hard to order jeans online!!
Amy Coose says
Please, PLEASE stop posting so much fabulous stuff! I literally have spent every day this week shopping your links, and can't wait for everything to arrive. Thanks so much for all the fashion help, I need it!

I am starting to realize you really boss me around! lol! Thank you for making me look pulled together and stylish as a mom 🙂 I picked up that oatmeal blazer last year the moment you mentioned it! I loved it last summer and I can't wait to start wearing it out this Spring 🙂 And it goes great with the must have jeans! 🙂 Thanks again Sheaffer!

I know you've talked about the Vigoss sizing before but I can't remember. I want to order the distressed shorts (so cute!) but since they're juniors I'm wondering if I should size up?
Sheaffer says
Hi there! Sizing is so different between each style of Vigoss jeans. I wear a 27 in some of the jeans, but I had a size 28 on in the shorts. Hope this helps!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
jen says
I really want to purchase those Vigoss jeans. I am petite and a size 6. I saw the size chart but would love some input from those who have them…what size do I order? It said they run big-? Thanks a BUNCH for any help!!!
Sheaffer says
I'm normally a size 4, and I ordered a 27 in these and they fit perfect. So, I would think that maybe a 28 would be perfect for you Jen! Hope this helps!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
jen says
Perfect!!! Many thanks for the answer! 🙂
Amy Dalon says
Do you think the embroidered Vigoss jeans run the same as their others? My other pair is a 28, but I noticed these say they run large and to order a size down.
Sheaffer says
Hi Amy! I have a 28 in the clean cuffed, a 27 in the distressed cuff, and I ordered a 27 in the embroidered jeans and they are perfect.
xoxo,
Sheaffer 😉
Amy Dalon says
Thanks for your help!! 🙂

Hi- love your blog!! Trying desperately to get a pair of Vigoss…just received the Thompson Tomboy Skinny in the light wash… size 28- they fit but are pretty low rise. Are any of them a little higher rise? Thank! Lisa B
Sheaffer says
Hi Lisa! I'm super short waisted, so I don't notice them being really low rise. Sorry I'm not help!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
Kellyann Rohr says
Hi Sheaffer! I am going to order a white t from Everlane. What was their sizing like? Did you get a small? And I am going to have to break down and get a Kimberly necklace! Can't take it anymore. Must. Own. And, I love your all white outfit – looks terrific!
Sheaffer says
Hi Kellyann! Your settings are set to "no reply", so I hope you check back here for your answer! I actually got a medium. I like that it's kind of roomy in the middle, but I definitely needed the room in the chest area. And listen. You NEED the Kimberly necklace.
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
Kellyann Rohr says
Thanks Sheaffer! I will have to check out my settings, no way do I want to be "no reply" – ugh! I am going to tell my husband to buy me that necklace for Mother's Day!

I have a neutral blazer, but I guess I need some Vigoss jeans! I don't think I can get them in Canada, so will have to wait until my next trip south of the border. Thanks for all the great pin-spiration!

FYI… some of the cutesies you have featured on here from anthro are now on their 'fresh cuts'!! 🙂
mel @ the larson lingo says
Okay, so I didn't jump on the neutral bandwagon last year, but this year? I think I need to make the plunge! SO cute! I have been wearing my black blazer a ton. I love how it pulls an outfit together. I am loving the coral one you posted also! Decisions, decisions!
Candice Ibarra says
love the beige jacket dark jean look!
Jackie T. says
OK, so yesterday I pulled out the oatmeal blazer from last year, paired it with a gray t-shirt, the Kimberly necklace and earrings and my Sam Edelman Felicia flats in Egyptian gold, chunky gold watch and 3 bracelets…I got compliments everywhere I went and it was just a few neutral pieces put together that I probably would have never done if not for this blog…so thanks girl!
On a side note, for anyone thinking about getting the blazer…I am typically a Small or a size 6 but took a Medium in that blazer last year…I haven't tried on this year's version yet but am curious now to see. I'm looking at that berry color. 🙂

Your blog is the best!! I never shopped at Nordstrom until I started reading! Did you see Hunter Wellington boots are 20% off??? Just got my very first pair 🙂
Carylee says
I'm so into blazers right now, it's ridiculous! I do have a neutral one already, but it's longer, and this makes me want more of a cropped style! Thank you so much for hosting! Carylee | morepiecesofme.com
