Y’all, summer is almost here, and I couldn’t be more excited!!! Bring on later mornings, days by the pool, and backyard barbecues with friends. This girl is READY!

In addition to just regular summer days, we’ve got Memorial Day right around the corner, and July 4th will be here before we know it as well.

And I don’t know about y’all, but I love looking FESTIVE!!!

Honestly, there’s not much I love more than a great red, white, and blue outfit.

Here I am in the #12 cover up from a couple of years ago. It’s still a favorite!

I’m wearing the “midnight” (it comes in a black and white stripe too), and I love the nautical vibes of the vibrant blue and bright white stripes. With July 4th right around the corner, it would be perfect for a pool party or backyard barbecue.

It’s super soft and lightweight, and I happen to love the short fit. However, if you’re tall, this might not be the cover up for you. I’m 5’4″ (with long legs for my height, but no torso) and you can see that it’s quite short on me.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small. I would size up if you want a bit more length.

Now, if you’re too tall to wear it as a cover up, consider pairing it as a tunic with denim shorts or white jeans!

I think this blouse is adorable. And the colors make it patriotic, without being in your face with stars and stripes. This is obviously a blouse you would wear all spring and summer long.

This knit tank dress is FABULOUS. The fabric is thick (but not too thick) and wonderfully stretchy (but not too stretchy). And it’s sooooo soft. The little tie at the waist is so cute, and the elastic waistline allows you to show off your shape! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Talk about festive! These star shorts are so fun! I can’t really see myself wearing them on a non-holiday, but at $32, I think I’ll get enough use out of them for years to come. They are quite stretchy and comfy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This navy dress is absolutely precious, and it’s just under $25. It also comes in a vintage bleach denim.

The square neckline with the eyelet flutter sleeves is adorable, and I love how the hem is scalloped eyelet as well. And it has pockets! It’s a little longer on my 5’4″ frame than I would like, but that’s good news for you taller ladies! It’s not lined, but it doesn’t appear to be see-through. It’s totally a dress, but it would also make a great swimsuit cover up that would take you from the pool to dinner! Again, I would suggest sizing down 2 full sizes.

The colors aren’t Americana, but the stars still make the set a bit festive. It’s very soft and has a cute fit. I grabbed it in a medium because I was sure I would need a medium in the top, but it’s actually quite generously sized, so I think I could have done a small.

This beach bag! Look how much it holds! It’s ON SALE and it comes in tons of colors.

This white swimsuit is ADORABLE. I have this same suit in a different colorblock color combo and absolutely LOVE the fit. It’s so comfy and flattering.

This sweater has over 2,000 5 star reviews and it’s ON SALE right now! It comes in tons of colors, including white and red!

It has a deep v neck (but not too deep), a subtle puff sleeve, and a banded hem. I like to wear it out, but I also like to wear it with a 1/2 tuck. It looks great both ways. You will definitely want to wear a nude bra under it because the tiny little holes do let the color of the bra peek through a bit. For size reference, I’m wearing a small, but I think a medium might be better on me.

A simple white tee with my must have denim short is made instantly festive with my new flag hat! I’ll be wearing this hat all year, but it’s going to be PERFECT for Memorial Day and the 4th.

Ruby Woo is a red lipstick that I found probably 4 or 5 years ago now when I was looking for a bright red lip color before July 4th.

This particular red is supposed to look great on all types of skin tones and with all different hair colors. And it’s definitely a blue red, which is great, because I don’t love a red that leans orange.

And check out the silver star necklace! So cute!

The Ruby Woo on its own is a bit harsh for my liking, so I recommend a gloss on top. The gloss you see below is now sold out, so I would recommend this Rose Glow gloss in its place.

This swing peplum tee is so cute, so flattering, and soooooo soft! It’s great on it’s own, but it will be great layered under cardigans and jackets as well in the fall. I LOVE THIS TEE. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This babydoll peplum top is a dark navy. I actually have this tee already in red and in blush from year’s past, so I knew I would like the style and fit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. This one also comes in white, red, and a lighter blue options as well.

Since most people will be spending time in the sun on Memorial Day and the 4th, I thought I would review a couple of awesome products.

The Unseen Sunscreen IS AMAZING (you can also find it on Amazon HERE). I used it for the very first time 2 summers ago, and I became an immediate fan. It’s weightless, invisible, scent free, and gives incredible coverage and protection for your face. My skin absorbs it very quickly (like IMMEDIATELY!) and there is NO TRACE of it. It’s not oily or greasy, it gives a matte finish, and it doesn’t leave any white residue behind either. I think it goes on like a primer! It’s velvety in texture and it totally just glides on your skin, both under and even over your makeup. Also, from reading reviews it seems it’s awesome for people with super sensitive skin. I’m telling you, the product is absolutely incredible.

I used to only use Supergoop Glow Screen as my “foundation” when I knew I was going to be in the sun for a prolonged period of time. You can also find it on Amazon HERE.

HOWEVER.

I’ve come to love the product so much that I’m now wearing it every single day that I apply make-up in the spring and summer. I love the color, the glow, and the level of coverage it gives! And please don’t let the “GLOW” in the name scare you. It’s very subtle and just really pretty! And the SPF is just a huge bonus. Sometimes I wear it on its own, and sometimes I combine it with 1 or 2 other products.

If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you might remember this cover up from a couple of years ago in black. I thought the black was great and I wore it all summer long, so last year I knew I wanted to add a new color. I chose this bright “watermelon red”. It’s one size fits all, and I never understand how that works, but I’ve seen it on a variety of body types and it looks great on everybody.

The tee is soft with a great fit. It’s not boxy, but not too tight either. I’m wearing a medium and definitely needed the room in the chest. Such a cute and easy outfit for a festive 4th!

Does this peplum tee look familiar?  I first showed it to you in blush HERE, and then you saw it in two shades of blue earlier in today’s post. The blush tee became a fast favorite in my everyday life, so I hopped on to grab some more colors, and the red called to me.

I sized up to a medium, but you will see in stories that a small would have been plenty big, so you can just stick to your regular size.
