This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle. The product selections are my own, and I only highlight and promote pieces that I truly love. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Sheaffer Told Me To!
Today I’m focusing on a brand that I’ve loved for years. A brand that you’ve seen me feature pretty frequently over the last 10 years, but although I wear it all the time, I don’t believe I’ve ever dedicated an entire post to the brand.
Well, today’s the today.
We’re going to have A MOMENT WITH MADEWELL, ladies!
Madewell’s head designer says that “Madewell is for denim lovers – or basically anyone who appreciates timeless designs that put you at ease.” I like that. Timeless designs that put you at ease. Sounds nice, right? Honestly, I feel that the brand just puts off a cool and relaxed vibe. I happen to love that a lot of their silhouettes are a relaxed fit. And while their clothes make me feel great, I’m still able to remain comfortable. They’ve got great solids, great patterns, interesting shapes, and classic pieces.
I know lots of you love Madewell too.
So, let’s all have a moment with one of our favorite brands!
BUTTERFLY SQUARE NECK MINI DRESS
I love a Madewell dress.
In fact, two of my favorite pieces of clothing in my closet are Madewell dresses. One is an orange shift dress that I’ve had for probably 5 years now, and I still pull it out regularly. It’s a thick gauzy material, and I’ve probably worn in at least 25x over the years. The other is a black baby doll dress that is a crisp cotton. It has tiny little buttons and tiny little pleats down the bodice, and it’s just a great little dress that I love wearing.
This gauzy little A-line dress is the newest Madewell dress in my collection. And I have no doubt I’ll be wearing it years from now, just like the other ones. This is the “dark baltic”, and although it looks black in the pictures online, I feel like it’s a deep navy in person. I do feel like it runs big, so keep that in mind if ordering it. I’m wearing a small, and it’s still a very relaxed fit. I would think most people need to size down.
The dress is flowy, cute, lightweight, and will be great for so many different types of occasions.
You can easily dress it up or down. In fact, on Monday’s post you’ll see it dressed up with wedges, a fabulous necklace, and a darling clutch.
This pic shows the tiny little pleats in the flutter sleeves. So pretty
Not only is the dress Madewell in this outfit, so is the tote! This is the classic Madewell transport tote (I have it in the cognac leather too), but it got a summer makeover in this adorable natural straw weave. It’s lined with a sturdy material, and it has one interior pocket. I’m so happy that the handle is long enough to easily carry it on your shoulder, because nothing drives me crazier than a bag that continually slips off my shoulder because the strap is too short.
These sandals aren’t Madewell, but they are very Madewell-esque, and I actually thought they were Madewell when I saw them at the mall. Mine are a beautiful cognac color, but there are 5 colors to choose from, and they all are super comfortable with an awesome padded footbed. And good news, they just went ON SALE!
Oh, one more thing.
This dress has pockets.
So even if for some crazy reason you thought you didn’t need the dress, the pockets might change your mind. Right? I don’t know why we all love pockets in dresses as much as we do, BUT WE DO. Don’t question it, it’s like science or something.

SHIRRED LINEN BLEND MAXI SKIRT
I’m not a big maxi skirt person.
I used to not be a big maxi skirt person.
Yep, that’s the old me.
Because this particular shirred linen blend maxi skirt has totally made me a maxi skirt person.
And the new me loves and adores this maxi skirt.
The skirt is a pull on with an elasticized waistband in the back, so you don’t have to mess with any silly zippers.
And I’m sorry, but this graphic floral pattern is to die for.
And the yellow is gorgeous. It’s not too sunshiny, it’s not too mustardy, it’s just a beautiful and perfect yellow.
The skirt has a real retro vibe to it. I love it so much.
The coin chain necklace is from Madewell too. The chunky chain is so “in” right now, and I find myself reaching for it all the time.
Madewell actually has a great selection of totally on trend and affordable jewelry. You should check it all out.
So in this outfit, the skirt, necklace, bracelets, and tote are all from Madewell! #wearehavingamomentladies
These Madewell friendship bracelets are feminine, delicate, and the stones are gorgeous. Of course since they are friendship bracelets, you are supposed to wear one and give one to a friend. Well. I kept both and am wearing both of them. #oopsie
I held out for a realllllllly long time, but I finally caved and bought a pair of TB Miller sandals. Now, what changed my mind is the new TB Miller soft sandals. These are made a bit different, with a padded footbed. So I caved. And I’m soooo glad I caved. I love them. I would suggest sizing up a 1/2.
SOFT SEERSUCKER SET
This set is adorable.
If you’re interested in feeling like you’re wearing pajamas when you’re out and about…but not actually wearing pajamas….this set is for you.
It’s made of a textural and soft seersucker fabric that is incredibly soft and comfy. I know traditional seersucker can be a bit stiff, but not this seersucker. In fact, even though they call it seersucker, I’m not sure I would. I think of it as more of a textural ribbed fabric.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium in the top and a small in the shorts.
Look how cute the shorts are. I love when clothes are comfy and flattering.
When deciding on your size, keep in mind that if you go too big, these will look frumpy. So if you’re between sizes, I would suggest sizing down.
I mean, wear it to run errands around town, and then lounge around in it all day at home. IT’S SO GOOD.
Aren’t they lovely? And right now they are on sale for ONLY $10.80 for the pair.
I’m completely smitten with this set. Mine is vintage quartz, but you can go ahead and just assume I’m going to get it in the black too. BECAUSE WHY WOULDN’T I. The black set is a little more classic, and I’m thinking you could even dress the black up with wedges and lots of gold jewelry.
I’m a sucker for embroidery. Always have been, always will be.
Madewell does embroidery so well.
I’m completely smitten with this embroidered blouse. For size reference, I’m in the small, and there’s still plenty of room. It says a small is a 2-4, but I’m not typically a 2-4 in tops, so I definitely think you should size down in this top.
The back is adorable too! It has buttons all the way down the back and a little tie at the top. The square neck is great, it has a relaxed fit, it drapes beautifully, and the embroidery work is gorgeous.
I love that the embroidery is on the square neck and the hem of the sleeves.
These little heart earrings are so dainty and pretty!
These frayed hem denim shorts have a 5″ inseam, which now appears to be the sweet spot for me (in my advanced age). Haha!
A faded medium wash and raw hems add a casual look to these shorts that flatter with ‘Ab’solution powermesh panels to shape and lift in all the right places.
- 5″ inseam; 22 1/2″ leg opening; 10″ front rise; 14 1/2″ back rise
- Zip fly with button closure
- 63% cotton, 36% polyester, 1% spandex
They are stretchy, comfy, and have the Ab-Solution technology that we all know and love. I originally ordered these in my regular size 4, but I felt like they were too tight. I sized up to a 6 and like the fit much better.
I think it’s great worn casually here, but I also think it would look awesome with white boot cut jeans for a dressier look!
NAVY EMBROIDERED BLOUSE
This is an outfit I’ve highlighted before, but I thought I should share it again in today’s Madewell tribute post. 🙂
I love this entire outfit. I love the top, the jeans, the wedges, the bag strap, and the jewelry. I love it all.
This is obviously just the navy version of the blush top above.
Yes, I love it so much I bought it in both colors. I’ve been known to do that.
Let’s talk about the boot cut jeans. I’ve talked about them several times before, but they deserve yet another mention. And if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, they make me look at least 5 pounds thinner and 2 inches taller than I actually am. They are magic jeans. MAGIC. They have the Ab-Solution technology, so they suck you in and smooth you out, but they do that while somehow remaining incredibly comfortable.
I’m going to say it again.
For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4 (not the petite). I’m 5’4″,but I have long legs for my height.
These wedges are a perfect height for me for these jeans. Very comfy, true to size, and a great neutral that goes with just about everything. They are also great with dresses and skirts.
So what are your thoughts? Madewell DESERVED a moment, don’t ya think?
