Ladies.
Listen to me.
This post is super short and sweet, but it features several items that I really love. And I just know y’all will love them too. We’re going to start with a flat lay I showed you a couple of weeks ago, and then I’m going to show me wearing the outfit in the flat lay. And if you check out instastories later today, I’ll be storying the outfit as well.
Let’s get to it.
First up, this top.
You need it.
And if we’re being honest, you probably need it in several colors. Because it’s just that good. And it’s ONLY $39.
I currently own it in 2 colors: Cayenne Red and Black. And in the interest of full disclosure here….I’m thinking of getting a 3rd color too. I just can’t decide if I want to go with ivory or light mauve. It comes in 9 colors, so there’s something for everybody.

More about the top in a minute… but let’s spend some time on the leopard calf hair mules! Every year I talk about how I always think that footwear is so hard when going from season to season. Well, these babies are what my transitional shoe dreams are made of! You know that time of year, when you feel silly in flip flops or sandals, but you feel just as silly in a pair of boots? THESE LEOPARD MULES will come through for you! I’ll be showing these on my insastories today as well.
Some reviews say to size down, but my regular size 6 1/2s were perfect on me. My heel hung off just a bit with the size 6s. Click HERE for the mules.
And although I absolutely love the mules (and highly recommend them!), I understand that mules aren’t for everybody, so I wanted to give y’all some other leopard shoe options. Because whether it’s mules, flats, heels, or booties….you need to have a pair of leopard shoes in your life. (And while we are on the subject of leopard, you need a leopard print belt too.) If you see a pair of leopard shoes you like, just click on the image!
Now, let’s talk about the blouse.
This blouse is a staple that many of you already own (I have had it in black for a couple of years), but I recently added this paprika color that is officially called “Cayenne Red”. It’s flattery, flowy, and drapes beautifully. And it’s sooooo soft. I got the small (my regular size), even though some suggest to size down. As you can see, this top looks casual and cool with denim shorts, but it would also look great dressed up with work pants or a pencil skirt. It would also look awesome with a blazer thrown over it.
It really is a perfect separate for an office environment. But even though I don’t work in an office, I still think that owning 3 different colors is a rock solid idea.

Now let’s get to the other parts of the outfit. I’ve been telling you for two years that you need the denim shorts. And I think I’ve proven my point by wearing them just about every day this summer. Y’all are huge fans too, and I get messages about them several times a week! I wear my regular size 27s, but I would size down if between sizes.
And last but not least, the accessories! The necklace is mixed metal and will become a favorite for sure. The earrings are delicate and feminine, and the bottom teardrops have a beautiful patina. The clutch is cream and gold with a fun tassel. It’s lined in a striking royal blue and has 1 interior pocket. It’s gorgeous in real life. Use the code SOIDID to get 15% OFF this clutch!

This is one of my favorite outfits you’ve posted in a long time. I’m obsessed with the whole thing!
Narci Dreffs says
This outfit is just adorable!! So, so cute friend!!
Erika Slaughter says
I have the shorts-love them!! And am always a fan of leopard so how could you ever go wrong with any of those shoes??
Cristie Mercer says
I got the leopard mules during the anniversary sale and I absolutely love them! I would definitely not size down. They fit perfectly! My heel was so close to the edge in my normal size 7 I almost considered sizing up a 1/2 size but I’m not going to!
Jan says
I got the red top based on your original post, talk about forgiving! I love the color as well, but this will be a great shirt for a no Spanx days!
Kelly Lane Nation says
Totally off topic…BUT I really wish you did Bachelor in Paradise recaps! I’m going through withdrawals since the Bachelorette ended.
Kathleen Dean says
I’ve been tempted by this shirt, but thrown off a bit by the “dry clean only or lay flat to dry” suggestion. I’m more of a toss-in-the-dryer kind of girl. How do you wash/dry your shirts and how have they held up (esp the black one since you’ve had it for years). Thanks!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kathleen! I dry clean mine, but I have lots of readers that don’t. I have a fellow blogger friend that says she washes and dries them with excellent results! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Terry says
The color of the blouse in your post looks very different from the picture on the Nordstrom site. Which picture is closer to the actual color. I love it in your post, but the store pic looks very orangey.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Terry! Lighting really changes the look of things, and for some reason I already have trouble describing reds…but I do think that my picture is more accurate. I would say it’s a red with maybe some coral undertones? But I wouldn’t describe it as orange at all. I hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Andrea says
My two cents- Nordstrom’s website colors are usually off from real life. Sheaffer’s pics are usually more accurate!
Sheaffer says
This makes me happy! Thanks, Andrea! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Marla B says
So is this top softer/a different fabric than the Lush top that it looks a lot like? I have a couple of the Lush ones but always wish they had a little “give” to the fabric.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Marla! Yes, it’s different! Much more give!!!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
chris says
Review comments mention dry clean only. Have you machine washed and machine dried this?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Chris! I actually dry clean mine….but lots of readers have reported that they launder, pop in the dryer for like 5 minutes, and then hang or lay flat to dry with perfect results! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Rachelle Sims says
I have that top in Ivory and love it! Looks great with blue jeans or with black jeans dresses up for a date night nicely. Also; wanted to say about your older post on the Dyson dryer; I have one. I had an issue with it about 3 weeks ago and went to their site, did what they suggested for my problem but still didn’t work. Well I just now finally called their 1800 number, and they’re sending me a replacement and paying for me to send them back my dryer. Yes, the dryer is expensive but MAN! that’s some good customer service! Just an FYI; so if you have any issues, call the 1800 number sooner rather than later!!!
Sheaffer says
You’re making a great case for the ivory, Rachelle! And that’s amazing feedback about the Dyson. Thanks for the sharing! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Elizabeth says
Is the top dry clean only?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Elizabeth! I dry clean mine, but I know lots of readers launder, pop in dryer, and then either hang up or lay on rack to dry. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
tracy smith says
Those shorts – LOVE them and they really have become a staple in my wardrobe. I’ll have to check out that shirt… but really, Sheaffer, I need a dress for an upcoming birthday event in vegas, not casual, not too dressy. Can I just borrow your Soprano Ruffle Off the shoulder dress… kidding, kind of. 😉 ~t
Sheaffer says
I mean, it really is a great dress. 🙂
Hilary says
I have the Henley and love it! I have a long torso and wish it were a tad longer. I’d buy it again in a fall color.
Are you doing any Bachelor in Paradise recaps? Dying to hear your thoughts on them bringing Becca back to talk with Colton and alll the paradise fashion (butt floss, anyone?!)
Sheaffer says
Hi, Hilary! I can see that those with long torsos might want it longer. Not doing Paradise recaps. So sorry! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Kristin says
Have you ever done a post about how you style your hair? I think it is so cute and would love to see what styling tools you use.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kristin! I haven’t, but that’s a good idea! And thank you for the sweet words!
