THIS dress is $34. And it comes in 9 colors. It’s incredibly versatile, amazingly soft, so very comfy, and it has pockets. And if you notice the cut of the top of the dress, it’s not just a standard tank. It has a high neck and notches in a bit at the arms, but don’t worry, it doesn’t come in too much, so you don’t worry about that armpit fat. Not that ANY of us have that. 😉 I even had some neighbor girlfriends do a sheerness check for me one night when we were outside with the kids, and my black one is not see-thru! Not sure about the other colors since I don’t have them. I’m thinking we all probably need at least 1. 😉
And I’m not sure if I told you or not, BUT IT HAS POCKETS. Oh, you already knew? Well, just making sure. #pockets Now keep in mind, the dress is a trapeze fit, so it’s roomy. If you are looking for a figure conscious dress, this is not your dress. But if you are looking for an easy throw on that can be dressed up or down and washes well, well then this IS your dress. #andalso #pockets
UPDATE 10:15 Wednesday morning: I’ve had several people ask if I found the arm holes to be big, because several reviewers on the site mentioned that. I didn’t find that to be a problem! However, I had a reader leave the following comment on facebook this morning, and I thought it might be helpful to several of you regarding sizing: I bought this dress in black, the powder blue which looks like denim, and the stripes. I wore the striped one with my denim jacket to work (I’m a teacher) and received many comments about how cute the dress was. Fits wonderfully, but yes the armholes are a bit large and that is why I had to wear the jacket over it. I am hoping after a wash this won’t be an issue. Love it! THANK YOU FOR THE FEEDBACK, JEN!!!! I love hearing others thoughts on items! Another reader commented that she sized down (didn’t think her regular size was too big, but wanted to give the smaller size a try)…and she ended up liking the smaller size better because of the arm holes and because of the overall sizing. So, all that to say, I think I’m going to order one of the striped ones in an x-small to compare the fits!
I’m going to show you 4 ways to wear this dress today. If you wear it these 4 ways…just one time each…..you are already down to under $9 per wear. #whatabargain
Look #1: Dressed Up with Wedges and a Fun Necklace
This look would be great for girl’s night out or date night! And imagine it thrown on with a denim jacket. My jacket was in the washer, or I totally would have shown it with my MUST HAVE denim jacket. I normally wear long pendant necklaces, but this turquoise squash blossom necklace really caught my eye! I think it’s a fun change from my pendant necklaces, and it’s super light weight (even though it looks heavy and substantial).
For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the dress. It is cut generously, but I wanted it roomy, so I stuck with my normal size. If you want a slimmer fit, I would suggest sizing down 1 size.

Since there is a limited supply of the above necklace, here are some options for you:

Look #2: Casual with a Tassel Necklace and Flat Sandals
I would wear this look running around town doing errands or to a girl’s lunch! I mean, when wearing this dress I could eat 3 tacos instead of 2. #justkidding #kindof
And the earrings are super light weight and made from real leather or suede. Use the code SHEAFFER15 for 15% OFF! The shop is out of turquoise right now, but the “gypsy teal” seems to be the closest match.
dress / suede earrings / tassel necklace / cross body bag / similar sandals
I got several comments on Monday’s post about how a lot of you are new to carrying a cross body bag and are loving it! So here are some choices for you again that are all super affordable:
Look #3: With a Beach Bag and Flip Flops
Well, obviously I’m headed to the beach or the pool in this get up! And if you are wearing it as a pool cover-up, this is where you could really have fun with the different color options! Because at $34, it’s good to have options. 😉
dress / multi glitter stud earrings / similar flip flops / beach bag c/o Hayden Reiss
Look #4: Ready for SOME SERIOUS LOUNGING with my Summer Blardigan
Where am I headed in this little number? Well, to my couch and then to bed. I wore it ALL DAY LONG last Saturday. We stayed home the entire day getting some stuff done and just hanging at home until baseball practice at 3:00 and then to a neighbor’s for grill and pool time that night. I felt cute and put together AND OH SO COZY.
It also comes in THIS stripe (and a darker black and taupe stripe as well)! And who doesn’t love stripes.
And the same maker offers it in a short sleeve version as well HERE.
I hope you were able to see the versatility of this one dress! I only showed it 4 ways above, but think how many more ways you could wear it. I don’t know of any other dress in the history of dresses that can be worn to bed…and also worn on a girl’s lunch or a date night! It would also look great paired with a cardigan, a white jacket, or dark denim jacket! And I think it could be sporty and cute with a pair of slip on converse. See you back here on Friday, girls!

I got this dress a couple of weeks ago and think it’s awesome. I got the black one too but am now thinking of adding a stripe and one of the colors to my closet for beach cover-ups. I hadn’t thought of that! You can’t be the price, and mine washes well too.

Hi Sheaffer! I am 22 weeks pregnant and looking for comfy, loose dresses I can wear this summer that aren’t actually maternity. Think this could work? I tend to stick with Maxi’s but would love something shorter if I can. Guessing this won’t work toward the end of my pregnancy, could get a little inappropriate on the length with the big belly. 🙂 But may work for a couple months?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Jessica! I guess it would depend on how tall you are, but I definitely think it could work for a bit! And it will definitely be perfect after the baby is born as well!!!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Sue says
So bummed…the colors and sizes I needed are not available.
Allison says
Sheaffer, Is the dress roomy enough to be worn as a maternity dress?
Sheaffer says
Hi Allison! It depends on how tall you are, but it could definitely work! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Rachel says
Ha! I just asked this SAME question! 🙂

Could not be a more perfect find for summer! And #pockets? SOLD?.

I’ve tried that dress, and you’re right, it’s darling!! The denim was my favorite because the fabric was thicker for some reason than the others. You, of course, look darling in it!!
Cindy Beck says
Hi Sheaffer. Some of the reviews say the arm holes are huge. Did you think so? Love your blog. Your comments are so funny…..you start my morning off right.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Cindy! I didn’t find this to be the case. The arm holes were find on me However, a reader commented on facebook this morning that she sized down and liked the fit better. Hope this helps, and thanks for the sweet words!
Rachel says
Do you think this could work as a maternity dress? How roomy/stretchy is the tummy area? 🙂 I also couldn’t quite remember how tall you are, but would this work well for someone who is 5′ 4″? Seems like a great summer dress option!!
~Long time follower, first time commenter 🙂
Sheaffer says
Hi, Rachel! Thanks for reading (and now for commenting!). Yes, I’m almost 5’4″. Depending on how tall you are, I think this dress would be great for the first half of a pregnancy, and DEFINITELY after the baby is born! Towards the end of the pregnancy, the belly might make it too short in front! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I’ve had this dress on my Nordstrom wish list for a few weeks now. After your post yesterday, I went ahead and ordered it and it said backordered :-(. But there is now plenty of stock (in almost all of the colors) and I got a shipping confirmation today…….yahoo!

Super disappointed in this dress 🙁 I love a good comfy dress I can wear different ways (you had me at #pockets) but the arm holes were HUGE! I even followed the advice of the earlier reader who said to size down (bought an xs) and they were still enormous on me. Like, I had a regular bra on and you could see the skin BELOW my bra huge. I’ll be sending this back pronto.
Sheaffer says
Hi Amanda! So sorry your disappointed! I had a reader comment somewhere a couple of days ago that she tried the dress on in stores and was amazed at the inconsistencies between dresses with both the arm holes and the overall length in the different colors (and even some inconsistencies within the same color). I truly don’t have armhole issues with either of mine. Maybe if you are near a store you could get to one and find one that’s perfect for you! Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I was thinking the same thing when I was trying it on. Don’t worry, I still trust you and your closet 🙂
