February Top 12 — Sheaffer Told Me To

Today’s post is one of my favorite posts each and every month. Today I’m going to share your Top 12 picks from February.

Not surprisingly, many of y’alls Top 12 picks are in my top picks for the month as well. All but one of the items I’m featuring today are items that I added to my own closet or makeup drawer (or already owned), and because of that they are items that you will continue to see on the blog as long as they are in stock. I haven’t shown the #1 jacket on me yet (I only showed it in collages), but it is on its way to me!

The picks that made this month’s top list are from Nordstrom, Amazon, Aerie, and Colleen Rothschild. And great news, 11 out of the 12 items are under $100 and several are under $50.

1) peplum military jacket / Like I said in the intro, this jacket is on it’s way to me (arrives tomorrow). It’s SO CUTE. Love the color, and I’m obsessed with the peplum hem.

Here we have the same tank, jacket, and bag… but we’ve put together a much more casual look with cuffed jeans and sneakers.

2) white tee / You’re looking at what I feel is the perfect crewneck tee. It’s the one I wore in tons of outfits in February because it is an incredible layering piece.

Here you’ve got a basic white tee with the ecru jeans and white sneakers.

The tee holds its shape, it’s not fitted (but it’s not boxy either), and it’s well made. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

If you’ve been with me for a while, you know I used to wear the “whisper thin” Madewell v-neck tee all the time. It was a good tee at a good price point, but it wasn’t the best quality because it was pretty thin. This white tee is my new favorite white tee. It’s made of a 100% cotton jersey, the fit is perfect, and it’s not see-through at all. Heads up that is does run small. I’m in a medium, and the fit is actually great for a base layering piece, but I would probably want it a bit looser if I was wearing it on its own.

It’s great under a denim jacket. I think Kut from the Kloth makes the greatest denim jackets, and you can click HERE to find the one with the wash and fit that you prefer.

These army green flared ankle jeans are both unique and adorable. They’re also stretchy, comfy, and flattering. WIN! WIN! WIN! They come in stone, maple, moss, teal, strawberry, and petal… so there’s definitely something for everybody. I’m wearing my regular size 4.

3) quarter zip sweater / How fun is this striped quarter zip! I’m completely smitten with the pink and green stripes, and y’all know I always love a quarter zip. I’m wearing a medium here and it’s quite oversized. I think I would actually prefer the fit of the small. There are 15 striped combos to choose from, so there’s something for everybody.

4) take it easy sweatshirt and 5) take it easy shorts / Okay, y’all. I’m SO EXCITED about these next two pieces. If I’m at home, I’m probably going to be wearing this set. I’m wearing a medium in both, and both pieces are super roomy.

I’m actually going to keep this medium set, but I’m going to order it in a different color in smalls to see which fit I like better.

Here’s the same sweatshirt as above, but I’ve styled it with one of my favorite pairs of denim shorts. These are what I affectionately refer to as the toddler denim shorts because they have elastic on the back part of the waistband. ELASTIC! YESSSSSS! I lived in these shorts last summer and will again this summer I’m sure. For size reference, I’m in a medium.

6) Face Oil #9 / Face Oil #9 is possibly my most favorite AND NECESSARY product when I’m battling dry skin. My skin SOAKS IT UP and it improves both hydration and radiance. RADIANCE! My skin absolutely craves it.

I put 1 full pump in my hand with the Extreme Recovery Cream (also seen below) and apply it all over my face and neck. It hydrates and plumps like nothing else I’ve ever used. The Extreme Recovery Cream is thick, rich, and ultra-creamy. This special little cocktail is absolutely magical.

7) t-shirt dress / I’m totally smitten with this mini t-shirt dress! I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It has 200 ratings, and the great majority are 5 stars. It’s super soft and not fitted, but not boxy either. It’s well made and hangs really nicely on the body. Again, the petite medium is perfect on me.

AND GET THIS… if it’s still on sale, it’s ONLY $15!

I think I’m going to have to get the black one as well. And maybe the stripe.

And y’all! Look how adorable this Bon Voyage tote is styled with it. The design and colors are FABULOUS, although I do wish it was bigger. But listen, it’s only $20, so I can deal with the size. BECAUSE IT SURE IS CUTE.

8) heart toggle necklace and 9) multicolor beaded necklace / I’m absolutely obsessed with both of these necklaces. Both are from Amazon, both are very affordable, and both are excellent quality. And although they are awesome for spring, they will actually both work year-round.

I had a hair appointment a couple of weeks ago, and my hair stylist (Amanda) was wearing the heart necklace. She told me she’s often disappointed with jewelry she has ordered in the past from Amazon because it looks and feels cheap, but she gave the heart necklace a shot because I was singing its praises. She LOVES it too and we agreed that it looks like a $100 necklace!

10) Rothy’s mules / These Rothy’s mules are something special. I really wanted this neutral pair, but they also come in black and an animal print. If I’m being honest, I wish owning all 3 pair made sense because I know I would wear the heck out of all of them. True to size, super super comfy, and they don’t flop when you walk!

If you love a good military jacket but are looking for something a little different, this twill jacket might be right up your alley. I thought this mustard color was unique and fun, and I love dressing in layers like this during transitional weather. Definitely size down, I’m wearing a small and it’s still roomy.

11) ecru jeans / These ecru jeans were actually y’alls #1 PICK for the entire month, and I agree that they totally deserve the #1 spot.

I found these ecru jeans last year, but they sold out immediately. They restocked, and then they sold out again. BUT RIGHT NOW THEY APPEAR TO BE FULLY STOCKED and they are a perfect transitional pair of pants.

This particular pair is a perfectly neutral “ecru”, but they come in 3 other color options as well. They are ankle cropped flares with a frayed hem, and I love them so much. They do have the Ab Solution power mesh panels that we all appreciate, and they enable the jeans to be super flattering and super comfy at the same time. I’m wearing my regular size 4.

This floral blouse is so pretty, and it’s ON SALE! The floral pattern is lovely, and I think a split neck like this is flattering on everybody. It’s a boxy cut, so I actually wish I would have gone with a small. I’m wearing a medium below, but I would suggest sizing down. It is kind of short, which isn’t a problem for me since I have virtually no torso, but it might be an issue for those of you with a long torso.

This boxy utility jacket is ON SALE too! Definitely size down in this one. I’m wearing a medium, but I’m confident the small will still be a super relaxed/boxy fit.

This pearl button cardigan is just plain sweet. The color combo is so interesting (I love it), and the pearls are such a wonderful touch. I think it looks great all buttoned up like this, but it would also look great with a cami or tee under it. There’s also a blue, green, and cream combo and a brown, rust, and cream combo that I love as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Y’all. I’m in love with this striped color combo for fall. In fact, you might remember that I showed you the same color combo in a cardigan a couple of weeks ago, and I loved it so much that I wanted to try this pullover sweater too. It’s soft, cozy, and a very relaxed fit. In fact, I’m wearing a medium, but I would prefer the fit of the small.
