This post is sponsored by Ann Taylor and ShopStyle. The product selections are my own, and I only highlight and promote pieces that I truly love. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Sheaffer Told Me To.
I’m thrilled to be partnering with Ann Taylor again today, and I am very excited to share my finds with you! I’ve got several great tops, some pretty jewelry, and some fabulous shoes…but I’m most excited about the city shorts.
I’ll be highlighting the shorts in both black and khaki, and you’ll get to see 5 different outfits with them today.
The shorts are good, ladies.
Y’all know me, and you know I love denim shorts.
I find myself wearing them most days during the Summer. The majority of my life I can dress super casually, and the denim shorts are just what I need. However, there are times that I have found myself needing a nicer pair of shorts.
I FOUND THE SHORTS!
HOW CUTE ARE THESE SHORTS!
They are called city shorts, and I have to say, they are awesome.
The shorts are 98% cotton and 2% spandex, giving them the perfect amount of give and stretch. And as I’ve said before, if pants don’t have at least a tiny bit of stretch in them, they are going to be a firm pass for me.
These have a polished look that I really love, and I know they are going to serve me well. I went ahead and grabbed the black and the khaki (and they come in a dark navy too).
For size reference, I’m almost 5’4″, and I’m wearing a 6P. They are mid rise with a 4″ inseam. The online description states “Relaxed enough for uptown. Sleek enough for downtown.” I dig it. And they launder beautifully.
These shorts are seriously fabulous, and I really needed them in my closet. They are totally classic with a bit of a dressy vibe.
Let’s move on from the shorts for just a second.
Does madras take you back to 1987 and Keds sneakers? Because it does me. AND I’M HERE FOR IT.
I’ve always loved a madras pattern, and I really love that this one is new and a bit different. First of all, the color combination is gorgeous. And the smocked waist and the slightly ballooned sleeves totally update the look. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I need a small. The boat neck is a little wide on me in the medium, and there’s enough room throughout to go down to the small.
The clutch is sold out, but these raffia wedge sandals deserve a highlight! They are 40% OFF too!
THEY ARE DARLING.
The footbed is padded, and they are comfy to walk in. They will also look great with jeans, with sundresses, and with work appropriate outfits as well. True to size for me.
I’ve got another outfit with the black shorts.
In addition to the shorts, everything in this outfit is 40% OFF!
I went dressier with the top, but then went with flat sandals to dress it back down.
The top has a square neck with pleated sleeves and a softly shirred silhouette. It’s got a bit of a swingy fit, and can be worn out or in a half tuck. The blush color is so pretty and feminine, and the little graphic floral pattern is adorable.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
I love the look. This top will look great with white jeans too.
Okay, last outfit with the black shorts. And once again, everything is 40% OFF!
I went all black with this one with the raffia wedges. It’s classy, it’s sleek, and I felt great in it.
This top is actually exactly the same as the blush floral pleated top above, but just in all black.
The clutch is from Ann Taylor as well, but it sadly has already sold out. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a restock.
And seriously. The wedges are FAB.
Do you remember the madras top from Outfit #1? Here it is again styled a bit more casually with flat sandals and the city shorts in khaki.
I love the top styled both ways, and you really should consider adding both colors of these shorts to your closet.
The final outfit today is with perhaps my favorite shirt from today’s post. And you guessed it, it’s 40% OFF!
It’s a precious eyelet and it has a puff sleeve with a little ruffle on both the shoulders and the hem of the sleeve.
The periwinkle is such a pretty color. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
You can see it worn out in the picture above, but it also looks great with a half tuck as evidenced below.
The tassel necklace is great and just pulls the outfit together. It really tops it off beautifully, and it’s 70% OFF today!
Such a feminine and pretty look! I love all the details.
To keep the outfit comfortable yet classy, I opted for the neutral flat sandal. These sandals have a padded footbed and a great wavy design to make them interesting.
And once again, I would like to highly recommend the city shorts.
The styling possibilities are endless with both the top and the shorts, and I know they will both be incredibly versatile.
That’s all for today, ladies!
I hope you enjoyed the outfits and that you see that Ann Taylor isn’t just for dressy occasions and the office. As evidenced by today’s outfits, they also have an awesome selection of wonderful casual and classy basics as well. All five of today’s outfits would be perfect for all sorts of different occasions like a get together with girlfriends or a dinner out with your hubby!
