FRIENDS! I literally could not be more excited about today’s post. It’s December, I’m feeling festive, and I have full confidence that we are all about to join together to do something INCREDIBLE!
If you’ve been a blog reader for a while now, you know for the last 9 years that Shay and I have hosted a 5 Days of Fabulous Giveaway to kick off the holiday season. This is now our 10th year, and we wanted to GO BIG. Like REALLY big, and we’re going to need your help! If y’all remember what we did last year (it was my favorite thing I’ve ever done on the blog), we want to top it this year. It’s going to be hard to do, but we have faith that all of us together can make it happen.
SPOILER ALERT: WE WANT TO RAISE $100,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®!
That’s right. ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS.
We want to join together with all of YOU and bless some precious families that are going through the unimaginable.
One of you lucky ladies that joins our cause is going to receive a FABULOUS prize on Friday worth a little over $2,000 (more on the prize in a bit), but the real prize here is that we’re all going to do something wonderful together and hopefully raise a ton of money. My heart is racing, y’all. I’m SO EXCITED.
We’ll get to the prize in a minute (it’s awesome!), but first I want to share a little bit about St. Jude (don’t donate on this link). Because if you’re like me, when you learn about St. Jude, you can’t help but want to give!
I had the privilege of attending a St. Jude Virtual Influencer Summit a couple of summers ago, and I really enjoyed learning about the hospital and their mission. I of course was familiar with St. Jude, but during the 2-day event, I learned new (to me) information about the hospital and their brand. I was also given the wonderful opportunity to hear directly from St. Jude families. Hearing from the families was incredibly impactful. St. Jude families have all been through so much, and they are all exceedingly grateful for what St. Jude has done for their families and for their children. I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of it.
The St. Jude purpose is clear: Finding cures. Saving children.®
And get this… families NEVER receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. Think about that! Families that are going through the most difficult trials imaginable are not having to worry about paying for the treatment that gives their child the best chance at a healthy and happy future. INCREDIBLE.
Not only that, but treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened 60 years ago. So not only are children being treated for free, they are actually receiving the absolute best care possible. And St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
When Shay and I started talking last year about 5 Days of Fabulous, we decided we wanted to mix things up. We wanted to do something great together and really make a difference. A St. Jude fundraiser seemed like the perfect way to celebrate the season together and do something really worthwhile as a community!
AND YOU GUYS BLEW US AWAY!!!
LAST YEAR WE RAISED $79,493!!!
And ladies, we would absolutely LOVE to top that this year!
I THINK WE CAN, DON’T YOU?
So here’s how it works…
We are going to give away ONE HUGE PRIZE at the end of the week.
I bet you are wondering how St. Jude fits into this….
Donating to St. Jude via this link will give you the chance to be the recipient of our fabulous giveaway.
One lucky lady is going to get an awesome prize, and St. Jude families are going to benefit greatly from all of YOUR generosity.
Here are the simple steps:
- Go HERE and make a secure donation on our St. Jude donation page by Thursday night at 11:59 p.m. CST.
- Our contact at St. Jude will choose a random name from all of the donations (made via this link), and we will announce the recipient on Friday’s blog post.
It really is just that easy! And it’s such a simple AND FABULOUS way to celebrate the season.
There are donation buttons for $30, $50, $100, and $250…but there is also an “OTHER” button! The OTHER button can be used for donations starting at just $10, and every single donation will be so appreciated! If you are feeling super generous, you can also use the OTHER button to write in donations larger than $250, and we would of course be thrilled if some of you were able to do that!
My family personally participated in this fundraiser last year, and we will do so this year as well. WE LOVE GIVING TO ST. JUDE AND BEING A PART OF THIS CAUSE! All donations to St. Jude are tax deductible, and those who donate will receive a confirmation e-mail with all information needed for tax purposes. In order to have a chance to be the lucky recipient of a designer bag, your donation needs to be made by 11:59 p.m. CST on Thursday, December 8th.
And then, as a THANK YOU for your generosity for this campaign and your support during the year, one of you will be gifted with a HUGE THANK YOU BAG! All people who give a minimum of $10 will have the same chance of receiving the prize!
So…..what’s the bag? So glad you asked!
It’s a Goyard St. Louis GM BAG (valued at just over $2,000)! The lucky lady can pick whatever color she wants that is currently available on the site, and we will have it sent directly from the store to the lucky lady’s home! CAN YOU IMAGINE?
Y’all totally surpassed our hopes for the fundraiser last year, and we are hoping and praying that this year is EVEN BIGGER!
I mean, I almost hate to even say it out loud, BUT HOW INCREDIBLE WOULD $100,000 BE!!!! LET’S SHOOT FOR THE STARS!
My hope is that a little bit of holiday spirit and magic will fill us all, and we will come together to help bless the socks off of St. Jude families. I’m so excited to be a part of blessing and loving on these very deserving families.
Let’s take a look at what some of our money can do! For example, $10 can provide a new toy for a hospital play area! And $250 provides a meal card to a St. Jude family for 1 week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the hospital’s cafeteria. I love seeing specifics on how our money will go to work.
And check out the progress that St. Jude has made with treatments! And it’s not just the families at St. Jude that benefit from the research. Treatments developed at St. Jude are used all over the world! They are helping to save kids EVERYWHERE.

While all of the data is beyond impressive and completely compelling, it’s the St. Jude videos that really pull at my heartstrings and make me want to get involved. I literally cannot imagine what these parents have gone thru, and it is so obvious how grateful they are to St. Jude for the treatment that their child received there as well as their overall experience. If you’re a parent yourself, the St. Jude videos will impact you deeply.

I hope you are inspired to be a part of the St. Jude community, and I of course hope you are excited to join with us and HELP US CELEBRATE THIS SEASON BY GIVING TODAY!
And don’t forget to check with your employers, because many employers will match donations!
Make sure you are following us on instagram (@sheaffertoldmeto and @mixandmatchmama) because we will both be updating you over the next 2 days on how much money we are raising.
Let’s do this, y’all! LET’S COME TOGETHER AND TRY TO RAISE $100,000!
You can click HERE right now and help make a lasting impact for St. Jude families. No amount is too small. WE CAN DO THIS! LET’S DO THIS TOGETHER!
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU in advance for your generosity. I just love this little community of ours, and I’m excited to see what we can do together!

I have a friend whose daughter was just accepted into a trial at St. Jude’s since her cancer is no longer responding to any other treatments. Needless to say, they are thrilled for this opportunity and just flew to visit St. Jude’s over this past weekend. I’m so grateful for this fundraiser and for they hope St. Jude’s provides for families who are dealing with every parent’s worst nightmare.
Sheaffer says
Oh, Kiersten. I’m so sorry about your friend and her daughter. So happy there are places like St. Jude to help these sweet families. xoxo

My child was diagnosed with cancer 10 years ago. We still go for yearly check ups. From a St. Jude family, you just don’t know what these fundraisers mean to the families. Thank you for doing this. ♥️
Sheaffer says
Oh Amy, I’m so grateful that St. Jude was there for your family and that your child is doing well!!!!! xoxo

The spirit of this is nice and it’s a worthy cause but it’s so odd that you and Shay ask strangers to give and don’t note any donations (or matching or anything) yourselves. Sure, you help co-sponsor a giveaway (but there are other motives for that: driving social media and blog engagement, clicks, etc.) and neither of you have publicly committed to giving to this cause that you are asking others to support. Very odd.

Hi there! This morning I replied to the e-mail that was shown on my blog platform for your comment, but I decided to go ahead and post my response here too. If your e-mail wasn’t real, I didn’t want you to think I just deleted and ignored your comment. My response follows….
Hi, Kiko!
My family participated in the fundraiser both this year and last year. St. Jude is a cause we love supporting, and we’ve happily given very generously both years.❤️
I feel like this is one of those situations that’s tough to navigate. If I don’t share how much we give, people might assume that we didn’t participate. However, if I were to share how much we gave, people would think we were looking for head pats.
We prefer to give quietly.
I hope this answers your question. I would of course never host a fundraiser that my family didn’t fully believe in and personally support as well. ❤️
