I’m linking up today with Kelly’s Korner for her Christmas Tour of Homes, even though this post was from a couple of weeks ago.
You won’t get to see my whole house…but you will get bits and pieces….and some good idea for some Christmas canvases!
I’m so glad you are back for the 2nd Day of Christmas!
If you missed entering for the $500 Nordstrom gift card on the first day, click HERE!
And don’t forget to see what Shay is up to today! I promise you it’s good!
Here’s what I have in store for you:
Remember, you have to sing it . 🙂
Actually, before we start with gift ideas for the kids, I wanted to show you two things that I am VERY proud of.
I’m not a super crafty mom…
I’m not even kind of a crafty mom.
Not. At. All.
And my friends will tell you that I’m the ABSOLUTE WORST at planning kids birthday parties.
Really. Not even being funny. I totally suck.
That being said, you will now have a bit of a better understanding of why I am soooo excited about the next two things I’m going to talk about.
Check this picture out.
That is my family room.
And that is a picture of Santa super-imposed on it (done at this site HERE) looking like he’s been “caught”). I did this for Carter last year and he totally ate it up.
It’s easy, and it’s free!
I know it’s not really “crafty”, but it counts as crafty for me.
If you really know me, you are probably going to question if I hired this next thing out.
But I promise you, I did not.
You can ask my bestie Lisa and her little girl Blakely,
because they were with us when we made them!
TODAY I’m going to show you how I get my Christmas craft on.
Pinterest Told Me To!
And I cannot tell you the joy they bring to me each time I look at them.
They really tug on this mama’s heart.
I just used a pencil to do a rough sketch of about what size I wanted the tree to be.
I impressed myself with that one.
Again. I KNOW!
(and they were the very last ones I took down last year).
And this year we’ll be getting together with Lisa and Blakely again to do another one.
I’ve already turned to Pinterest for inspiration, and I’ve found 2 that I LOVE.
Are you dying?
This one is PERFECT if you have 2 kids!
|original source not found|
That Christmas tree sure is cute, but I’m definitely leaning towards towards the cute little Mistle”toes”! I will definitely be posting the new canvas once it’s done.
And listen, if I can do these, YOU can do these.
You can have complete confidence in that!
Okay….two more things on the agenda today.
First I’m going to talk about some gifts for your young kids.
And then I’m going to do a Santa Alert, so stick with me!
I’m going to focus on young kids today because that’s what I have and that’s what I know.
First up, I want to talk about THESE house shoes that my little guy is dying for.
He saw them on our last trip to Nordstrom and has been talking about them ever since!
If your little one doesn’t like dinosaurs, but you think they would love a pair of light up slippers, there are other choices for both boys and girls HERE including a puppy dog, a fire truck, a soccer ball, a hoot owl, and a polar bear. All of them are so cute!
And if your little guy loves dinosaurs , there are several choices for gifts HERE including puzzles, raincoats, an umbrella, tennis shoes, books, and THIS shirt that I’m getting for Carter.
It’s a dino shirt (which he’ll love), but I actually love it too!
Good for him AND me!
Isn’t it so cute?!?!
And while we are on clothes, I always give Carter a couple of functional gifts that he needs mixed in with the fun toys.
(It’s another package for him to have fun opening, and it’s something he truly needs that I would have spent money on anyway!)
This year he needs a new coat, and THIS is the one he is getting.
Yep, he’s getting a Northface jacket just like his daddy’s HERE.
Carter will LOVE matching his dad!
In addition to dinosaurs, my boy also loves ALL things camo,
so he will be getting one of the items from HERE.
I’m thinking the rain boots HERE are going to be perfect since he just outgrew his other ones.
But if your guy doesn’t have a camo puffer vest (mine already does), he definitely needs THIS (and it’s 33% off)!
Whether you have a boy or a girl, I think rain boots are another one of those gifts that are PERFECT gift to give that is both fun for the child to open and functional for the parents to give! Plus, because of the designs on them, your child can actually be super excited about them too!
Click HERE for all kids rainboots, and you won’t believe some of the awesome choices!
Frogs, Spider Man, Butterflies, Owls, Flowers, Polka Dots, Hello Kitty, Ladybugs,
Lightning McQueen, etc….
Seriously, click HERE and look around!
My favorite girl version is HERE.
You will find the PERFECT pair for your little one that he or she will LOVE!
And while we are on footwear, if you have a little girl, the two of you could both ooh and ahh over a pair of little girl UGGS HERE.
I’m thinking the pink and purple leopard, the bow backed, or the sequins would be a big hit!
If I had a little girl she would be in these FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!
On to toys!
Click HERE for all Melissa and Doug toys!
You seriously cannot beat Melissa and Doug toys, and the link has everything from dress up costumes, to big stuffed animals (the big golden retriever sits next to Carter’s bed!), to their famous puzzles, to nesting blocks, to a little piano, to magnetic dress up dolls.
Seriously. Just click HERE and look around.
Super cute and well made toys that are awesome to give.
