Happy Wednesday, Ladies!
Well, today is a first for me, and I’m so excited.
Y’all know that I’ve talked about Kohl’s before on the blog, but it’s always been for things I get for Chris and Carter. I always feel like I get such great deals on stuff for my boys at Kohl’s, but I have never shopped there for myself. And to be honest, I’ve never even really looked. They have such a huge inventory that shopping for me (vs. my boys) always seemed pretty overwhelming, so I just never did it. If I shopped online, I would just filter by “boys” or “men” and the brand I was looking for. And on the occasion that I ran into a store, I would just always go straight to the boy’s section. I actually can’t ever recall a time even glancing over their women’s selection.
Things have changed, baby.
When Kohl’s reached out to me for a multi-month partnership, I knew I needed to get really familiar with the retailer before committing.
So, I did a deep dive on their site. I placed a huge order, sorted through the things I liked and didn’t like, returned the things I didn’t like to the store, and shopped in store while doing the return as well.
I’m SO excited about my finds, and I know y’all are going to be super excited too!
I know I still have to explore some brands that I haven’t tried yet, but I feel confident that I already have a pretty good grasp on a handful of brands that really work for me and totally fit our style! Last week I let y’all know that I had a Kohl’s post coming up, and I got lots of messages from y’all about it. Several ladies were like “I shop Kohl’s alllll the time! So glad you are finally featuring them!”. However, I would say the majority of people said the exact same thing that I just said…that they shop for the men in their life at Kohl’s, but not for themselves.
That changes today.
Here are some promotions you need to know about before I start featuring some awesome finds and before you start shopping…

Okay, let’s get started!
THE JACKET YOU NEED
I teased this jacket last week (in a mirror selfie) and y’all flipped over it.
I GET IT.
I flipped too.
I fell in love the second that I put it on, and I 100% knew y’all were going to love it too.
It’s an awesome jacket.
The material is soft, comfy, and has just a bit of stretch in it. It’s not heavy, so it’s going to be perfect for early fall and spring as well. I have no doubt this jacket is going to be a staple piece for me. Y’all know I love the stand-up collar, and the bomber styling is super cute.
This is the “dark gray” jacket, but until I saw the color name, I was really thinking it was a dark olive green. Whatever color it is, it functions as a neutral and can basically be worn with anything. (When reading other’s reviews, it seems others think it’s more of a dark olive green as well.) It also comes in a great light grey.
I think it will be cute with regular jeans, white denim, and black denim. I’ll wear it with both boot-cut jeans, straight legged jeans, and skinny jeans all season long.
This v-neck blouse comes in 19 total colors/patterns, but I grabbed the gold specifically to pair with this jacket. I just knew it would be a really pretty color combo for fall. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I wanted to style this outfit with gold jewelry, and these earrings and this necklace were the perfect choice. I’ve been wanting a chunky matte gold chain for a bit now and this one was exactly what I was looking for!
The jacket, the blouse, the earrings, the necklace, and the bracelet in this outfit are all from Kohl’s. And while I like all of the items, I’m crazy about the jacket and the necklace.
A GREAT LITTLE TEE (WITH THE JACKET YOU STILL NEED)
This eyelet flutter sleeve tee was one of the items I picked up in store when I was making some returns.
I only saw it in white in store, but I see online that there are several great fall color choices including a mustard, a pine green, and a merlot. When worn by itself, you can see the great eyelet detail on the sleeves as well as on the hem in back.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. I do think it runs large, so I would recommend sizing down if between sizes.
I love the tee on its own as seen above, but it’s also a perfect layering piece.
No surprise here, it looks awesome under my new favorite jacket.
And let’s go ahead and be real honest. I feel passionately about y’all trying this shrunken bomber jacket. I’ve been singing the praises of my military jackets (yes, I have several) for years and years now, but this is like an updated version. It’s the great muted olive color that functions beautifully as a neutral, but the bomber styling gives it a modern edge. And y’all know when I feel passionately about something I will continue to talk about it again and again. So get ready. I have no doubt that you will continue to see it styled in lots of future posts.
I’m wearing the same chain necklace and earrings here, but I added a second layering necklace. This long disc necklace adds some edge to the outfit. And great news! Lots of jewelry on the site right now is buy one, bet one 50% OFF! Grab the long disc necklace, and then get the short chain necklace for 1/2 off!
I wanted to show y’all the jacket styled with ankle jeans too (instead of just the boot cut jeans). I love it with everything.
A GREAT FALL DRESS
The last year or so I’ve been allllll about dresses. They are just so easy to throw on, and I love looking put together with minimal effort.
I ordered several dresses for this haul, and this drop-waist dress was the clear winner for me!
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know I very rarely wear sleeveless items, but I actually love buying sleeveless pieces when I know I’m going to layer them under another item. This dress pairs perfectly with a denim jacket, and it also looks great under the bomber jacket (as you’ll see in just a second). I also will style it with a chunky cardigan for fall.
The dress comes in 8 colors, and I’m wearing the “spot texture” colorway. The black would also be an awesome basic to have in your closet.
It’s very comfortable, it hangs beautifully (is nice and flowy!), and it has a bit of stretch in it that I love. The tiered skirt is so flirty, and I like that it’s a relaxed fit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
FYI, it didn’t take me long to become obsessed with this chunky chain link necklace. I’ve been wearing it a lot, and I feel like it totally updates outfits that are old that I’ve worn on repeat. The necklace makes them look new!
And for a different look, I think the bomber looks great layered on top as well.
All the fall colors are making me so happy.
I’m telling you, this bomber is fall jacket PERFECTION.
THE SWEATSHIRT YOU NEED
Okay, now we’re going to talk about a sweatshirt that EVERYBODY needs in SEVERAL colors.
You need at least 2….BECAUSE RIGHT NOW ITS BUY ONE, GET ONE HALF OFF! I promise you that you will be mad at yourself if you buy just 1.
It’s a great oversized sweatshirt, and I don’t know how this is possible, but it is somehow flattering. The sweatshirt is warm, but not heavy, and it really is incredibly soft and cozy. It’s not fleece lined, but trust me when I say that the inside is amazingly soft.
Let’s talk sizing, I ordered a large at first because it’s junior’s sizing and I wanted it roomy around the middle and long enough for leggings. But here’s what I suggest: pay no attention to the fact that it’s junior’s sizing. Just act like it is women’s sizing and know that the sweatshirt still runs big. I’m wearing a medium and it’s still very roomy. I have no doubt a small would fit, but I wanted a super relaxed fit, so I am keeping the medium.
I’m wearing the color “collection” here.
The leggings are awesome as well!
I’m a size small in my favorite leggings from a different retailer, but for some reason I ordered a medium in these because I thought they were going to be too tight. I was wrong, I definitely need these in a small.
They are high waisted (praise be) and tag free (as all leggings should be). They are very stretchy and moisture wicking, so I will wear these both around town and when working out (which for me, means walking the dogs at a brisk pace). 🙂
They remind me very much of a high-end legging from a different retailer that is known for their leggings. And I’m telling you, THESE ARE LIKE BUTTAH. I read the reviews before I ordered them, and I have to say I agree with what almost everybody said. They are what legging dreams are made of.
See how they are bagging in the knees? I definitely need a small.
Now I know what you’re thinking. You want me to tell you about the sneakers. Super cute, right?
Listen, I had no idea that Kohl’s is an excellent source for women’s sneakers! They have just about all of the well-known brands (we’re talking Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Converse, etc.), and they have them separated by brand or category which makes them really easy to shop!
These are the “carbon vapor pink” and look how cute the backs are! I love that they are predominately black, but they have these fun pops of color on the sides and back. True to size for me.
Now, I think that the sneakers are excluded from the 15% OFF of $100 code. So, while you can of course still grab the sneakers, it is my understanding that they don’t help you get to the $100 total.
Look at me!
Don’t I look like I’m ready to head to the gym?
Well, don’t fool yourself, I’m not.
This would be a fantastic gym bag, but in all reality I’ll just use it to pack things when headed to the ranch. It’s a nice large size (without being HUGE), and it has 5 exterior pockets, 3 interior pockets, and separate large compartment for shoes and/or gym clothes. It comes in black too.
I already have this sweatshirt in 2 colors (you’re about to see the second color), but I’m actually contemplating buying 2 more with the Buy 1, Get 1 50% OFF promotion happening right now. I WILL LIVE IN THESE SWEATSHIRTS both at home and at the ranch.
Here it is in “appealing green”, but I think it’s much more of a highlighter yellow than it is green. I mean, with the fact that the site calls the jacket “gray” and I think it’s green….and the site calls this sweatshirt “green”, and I think it’s yellow…it seems like one of us has a color identification problem. I’m interested to hear who y’all think is right! Haha!
I thought the brightly colored sweatshirt was fun paired with these plum leggings. They are the same as the black leggings above, just in a different color.
And just because I couldn’t resist, I ordered a 2nd pair of shoes to highlight for y’all. These are cute with leggings, but I think they will be darling with sweaters and ankle jeans as well. True to size for me.
The only problem is, I love both pairs of sneakers so much that I can’t decide which ones to keep and which to return!
I switched out the gym bag for my favorite bag, and this is a look I’ll be sporting around town all fall long.
WHAT I’VE LEARNED…
I hope you loved today’s post because I certainly had a blast shopping for it and styling the outfits! It’s fun to discover new retailers and brands, and I’m excited to continue to feature Kohl’s in the future.
So here’s what I learned about shopping at Kohl’s for ME for the first time!
- The deals are incredible.
- They have items for every type of occasion you could ever imagine attending. From the gym to a wedding, they have you covered.
- Most importantly, I’ve already found some brands that I know work for me!
Sonoma (Sonoma is the brand of my beloved new jacket, the gold sleeveless top, and some of the jewelry I featured.)
Lauren Conrad (Lauren Conrad is the brand of the white eyelet sleeve tee. She’s got tons of cute pieces.)
Nine West (Nine West is the brand of the dress I featured. There are lots of clothes, bags, and shoes from Nine West.)
FLX (FLX is the athleisure brand of the awesome leggings. They have items for both men and women.)
SO (The brand of the sweatshirts I’m wearing! This brand is for juniors, but it looks like it has lots of great cardigans and things like that. I’ll definitely order more from this brand in the future to become more familiar with it.)
And I suggest clicking HERE and browsing around for yourself! They have everything categorized so nicely, which makes shopping a breeze!
Oh, and don’t forget that Kohl’s now has Sephora. It’s super convenient to throw makeup or skincare in your cart too!
Wait! One more brand! I just realized that Kohl’s also carries Draper James, the clothing line by Reese Witherspoon!!! Y’all! You need to check it out for yourself because there are so many adorable pieces to choose from. I will definitely order from this line for my next post.
So although it might have been my first time to shop for myself at Kohl’s, I can guarantee it won’t be my last. In fact, I already have my eye on this dress, this black floral blouse for the office, and this cardigan in the washed blue (with EXCELLENT reviews) for next month’s post! And this is out of my comfort zone, but I’m totally interested in these flare jeans with the retro vibe!
So I’m dying to know…
Were you already a Kohl’s shopper? Or is today the first time you are shopping this retailer? Please sound off in the comments!
And don’t forget…
