I ordered it while I was writing THIS Pinterest Told Me To recreation post. I linked the shirt as a great option since the shirt I was wearing in the post was sold out.
Well.
The shirt arrived.
And it’s PERFECTION.
And I promise, I’m not over-selling it.
The subtle stripes.
The collar.
The sleeves that can be rolled up or down.
The length.
The fit.
The popover-ness. (Just act like it’s a word.)
It’s ALL perfection in my book.
I will wear it with khaki shorts, white cut-offs, white jeans, and regular jeans.
It will look awesome under a military jacket too.
So it’s pretty much a year round shirt.
The day it arrived I wore it like this:
stripe roll sleeve popover / agate necklace (see below for a code!)/ $8 light pink earrings/
khaki shorts / MK watch / giraffe bracelet (see below for a code!)/
striped tote / glitter slide on sandals
stripe roll sleeve popover / agate necklace / $8 light pink earrings/
my favorite lip gloss right now!
GET THE LOOK FOR YOURSELF HERE,
just click on what you are interested in:
I know you’ve seen this agate necklace on me a lot (I have it in blue and green as well), and today it is 20% OFF!!!!
Actually, for the next 48 hours, everything at A.C. is 20% OFF with the code PTMT20!
Here are some of my AC favorites that you see on the blog all the time (as well as some new items I haven’t highlighted yet)!
Shop them all at 20% OFF!
Sorry the prices aren’t posted on the middle row, I forgot to check the “show prices” box, and I was just too dang tired to correct it.
And if you are interested in my striped Barrington bag, good news!
The code PTMTSAVE10 will get you 10% OFF your entire purchase!
Click HERE for the striped tote (see picture from previous post below) c/o Barrington.
(Click HERE for my leather tote I carry all the time).
So above you saw how I wore the shirt the first day I had it.
This is how I wore it the second day. Yes. The 2nd day in a row. Don’t judge.
I wore it the exact same way (with khakis and my glitter sandals), I just changed up the accessories for a more simple look.
So as you all know these glitter studs aren’t available today.
HOWEVER.
If our sources are correct, they will be available on Thursday when the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale goes live to cardholders! (IT’S THURDAY! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!)
I don’t think there is any way in the world they will last until the site goes live to the public, because I’m imagining people are going to buy multiple pairs at one time (for themselves and for presents)!
Let’s be honest, people will probably buy them in bulk.
#smartgirls
Look how pretty they are!
I saw this necklace online last week and ordered it, just hoping I would love it!
And I do!
Click HERE! It’s only $16! It’s so delicate and pretty!
And here’s a close up of my sandals that I first showed you last week.
Now that I’ve worn them for a couple of weeks, I can officially say that the glitter isn’t falling off (which I was worried about at first).
glitter slip on sandals
And yes. Mama needs a pedicure.
Okay..that’s enough shopping for today!
Two more things:
1)
Many of you have said that for some reason or another you haven’t yet received the anniversary sale catalog. If you haven’t received yours, click HERE to see the online version to help yourself prepare!
2)
It’s time for me to announce the new SPECIAL MAMA CONTEST, and it’s time for y’all to start nominating some very deserving moms!
To see all of the previous Special Mama contests click HERE.
So, the mom either needs to be LOCAL and able to be in either McKinney or Dallas by 10:00 a.m. on either the 20th or 21st.
But I promise I will make it worth her while with a …..
drum roll please….
$1,000 Shopping Spree at Nordstrom!
(And that’s not all, she will also get an amazing prize package from lots of other smaller retailers…those prizes will be announced later.)
Here’s Candace last year after we took Nordstrom down!
She’s the cutest.
So here’s how you nominate somebody (or yourself!):
*
The mom you nominate must be the mom of a child with special needs. I have a heart for these amazing moms that give so much of themselves to help their children, and I want to honor them.
And celebrate them!
If you want to read more about why I initially started these Special Mama giveaways, click HERE.
*
You must leave a blog comment with the name of the mom you are nominating. Also, please feel free to nominate yourself!
*
You must also click the box on the rafflecopter below stating that you did in fact leave a comment. The winner’s name will be chosen through the rafflecopter.
*
After a name is chosen, the winner (or the person who nominated the winner) will only have 24 hours to contact me because of the timeliness of us shopping on either July 20th or 21st. If the winner can not get here to go shopping on one of those days, another winner will be chosen.
So please, only nominate people if you are pretty sure they will be able to shop with me on one of those days!
I want to be able to shop with the mom, take her to lunch, and present her with the other gifts!!!
The winner will be announced on July 13th, and the winner or nominator will need to contact me by July 14th for me to validate the winner and make sure she can shop on the 20th or 21st!
So…go nominate lots of deserving moms!
And I’ll see you back here on Wednesday for The Bachelorette Recap!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
p.s.
If you’ve been reading here for awhile, you know that I’m a big fan of Erin Condren life planners.
My girl Samantha over at Erin Condren sends me one every year when they come out, and I get so excited when I know it’s on it’s way. But know this, even if she didn’t send one to me, I would DEFINITELY buy it on my own.
This year I got the vertical planner vs. the horizontal planner (click HERE and scroll to the bottom of the page to see the differences), and I’ve been loving the no bleed markers that she sent as well!
Here’s a pic of my new calendar after I put the markers to good use!
Look at THESE carry-alls for the calendar! Sometimes I throw the calendar in my purse or laptop bag, and I like the idea of it being more protected.
And I’m for sure ordering their new cover option where you can download lots of your ig pics!
Look how cute Shay’s is!
And spoiler alert: the team at Erin Condren will be giving one away to the Special Mama winner this month! WooHoo!!!!

What a wonderful way to celebrate a deserving momma! I'm nominating my dear friend, Heather Hamlett. She is a paraprofessional at the elementary school where I teach. I can't think of anyone more deserving of a day of fun and pampering. Heather has two sons. Her youngest, Braylon, will be a second grader this year and has Down's Syndrome. She has become such and advocate for Down's. Everyday, Heather finds something to celebrate with her sons. She truly makes each day count. She also installs in them both the importance of charity and random acts of kindness. I'm amazed at all the things she does for and with her both of boys. As a coworker, she's a ray of sunshine to our whole campus. You will often go in the teacher's lounge to find homemade goodies, baked by Heather, in hopes of brightening someone's day. If she has a fault, it is that she often puts herself on the back burner. I can't think of anyone I know who is more selfless than Heather. She is SO deserving of a day that makes her feel as special as she makes others feel!
Janet H says

I would like to throw my name in the hat as well. I know we all have different struggles and I want to thank you for the opportunity..it's such a sweet gift you give! My name is Chesna Ellis and me and my husband have 4 kids. Our oldest son is 11 and has autism. He's still non verbal but he's learning to write and type, and it blows we away! I nominate my mom Sandra Gripton! My little brother is autistic and has experienced mysterious and rapid regression in his neurological health over the past few months. My family has put their life on hold to care for him. I cannot put into words how encouraging and uplifting a pampered weekend like this would be for my mom when she had been so selfless for so long. I'm crying just thinking about it. Thank you for offering such a wonderful treat to deserving families.
Katie says
I nominate my sweet friend Jordan Benners. She is mom to 3 kids 4 and under, works as a PT and swim lesson teacher, her hubby is a Dallas police officer, and their middle child was diagnosed with severe autism last year. They have tons of medical bills for other needs that have come up, and Jordan serves her family with such a full heart! I know she hasn't been shopping in years due to budget constraints and being preggo/postpartum so much over the last few years. Thanks for this opp! So generous!!!
Erica S says
I feel badly nominating myself, but an opportunity to shop with Sheaffer! OMG, that is easily worth more than the $1000 to Nordstrom! I have a 6 year old boy with albinism who we adopted from China. And I'd just like to throw out there, as a mom to another child with ADHD and learning disabilities, that all those moms who have children with learning disabilities also work soooo hard to make sure their children are succeeding. And I'd like to applaud them too! 🙂

Heather Couture DeSimone is my nomination for her selflessness and dramatic life change she underwent while bringing her beautiful son with Down Syndrome, Easton, into this world in September 2011. Easton is a pure joy that brings a smile to everyone’s face that he meets. Heather lives in the Chicago area and works for Delta airlines at O’Hare airport. Every penny they can save right now is going towards purchasing a home in a better school district so that Easton can have teachers that have experience with children with Down Syndrome. Heather went back to work after having Easton and changed to the late afternoon/evening/weekend shift so that she could be Easton’s full time caregiver as well as work full time outside the home. Talk about a full time mom! Heather also works a lot with Gigi’s Playhouse which is a non-profit for kids with Down Syndrome. She even gives her free time to others. She is a giving person that deserves a little something for herself. Given that she works for Delta, she could fly down to DFW at no cost.

I nominate Marci Walther. Her sweet baby, Lennon, was diagnosed with AML, spent a month in the hospital, and gained her angel wings a little over a month ago. I tried to think of all the wonderful reasons I could give that she deserves this amazing prize and then this morning I read her post on her "Lifting Up Lennon" Facebook page that she started right after Lennon was diagnosed with AML and I realized Marci's words say more eloquently than what I could try to say. Please go read her words and they will make you stop and think, they will make you cry & they will change you.

I'd love to nominate my friend, Kerry Pines. One of Kerry's sons was diagnosed early on with autism. Kerry worked tirelessly with her son's ABA therapist to try and help him achieve his fullest potential. This kiddo is now in elementary school and no longer qualifies for special ed services due to his incredible progress. Amazing! Kerry has a preschooler with Down's. When she's not enjoying time with her family, Kerry works as an ABA therapist trying to help children with autism to be their very best. She is a beautiful person through and through and has such a positive outlook on life. I'd be giddy to see her win! =) Thanks SO MUCH for doing this Sheaffer!

What an awesome giveaway!! I would love to nominate my best friend, Ashley Hensley. Her beautiful daughter, Cambree, was born with a rare vascular condition called Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome (KTS). Ashley has been so strong and courageous during this journey they have been on as a family. They are currently between trips to Boston Children's Hospital where Cambree has and will continue to undergo surgeries. Throughout this journey, Ashley has taught others about KTS and has been very inspirational to others around her. She is very deserving of this amazing prize!

I'm nominating my SIL, Bree Walk. She has three boys, 1 has severe medical problems and one has special needs. She also just found out she's expecting twins which was completely unexpected and a huge surprise. She is excited, but also scared! Her son with medical problems had to have a kidney removed and his problems began in utero, and her 6 year old with special needs needs a lot of extra help. I think this would help boost her spirits immensely!! You're the best!

There are so many moms of special needs children that are so deserving, thank you for doing this.
I would like to nominate Penny Howard. She is mom of three beautiful children. Her middle child, Harper, has a condition called CDLK5. It is very rare only 300 cases worldwide have been diagnosed. Harper at 6 weeks old started to have uncontrollable seizures. She would have over 100+ seizures a day. She is 5 years old now, and Penny has been on a crusade to raise money for research for CDLK5. She started a non-profit. Hope4Harper. She donates all of the hard-earned money that she raises. She has been able with lots of research and lots of moxy to get Harper on hemp oil which has suppressed these seizures.
Unfortunately the damage to Harper’s brain has left her unable to speak, unable to eat, unable to maintain sitting, among the many basic things she cannot do like other 5 year olds.
Penny and her husband do all they can for their children, just like any parent. But the daily challenges they face, mean giving their all and more.

Jordan is wheelchair bound with a feeding tube as well as being nonverbal! He relies on his momma for everything! The only time Andrea leaves Jordan's side is for a quick trip to the grocery store or to go volunteer in her other son's classroom. She is the most selfless person and is so very deserving of this reward.

I'd love to put myself in the drawing for this awesome day out! My daughter (23 months) was born with a rare vascular condition called Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome and has doctors in DFW and at Boston Childrens, even though we live in OKC. Travel is easy for us since my mom loves in DFW and retail therapy is something I'm quite good at! 😉 plus I'd love to raise more awareness for her condition. Thank you for the opportunity!

How I would love to win this. I'm nominating myself. Yep, I have no shame in that. I'm a momma of two special needs kiddos. I have Elijah (8) diagnosed with high functioning Autism and Lucy (5) who we adopted from the DR Congo, Africa 2 1/2 years ago who has PTSD, institutionalized Autism and much brain trauma which causes a lot of chaos in our home. She struggles with rages and many other behavioral challenges because of her trauma and neglect at such a young age. She's like a 2 yr old in learning and every day activities but like a 18yr old in survival and street smarts. We also have Isaac (5) who is a very normal very active little boy. I'm one tired momma and I would LOVE a day for myself which is a very rare thing. Though it's tough I love my kiddos, they are a gift from God!

I'm nominating my friend Bethany Chu!! She is the wife of violinist Jonathan Chu who plays with the band Skillet, and they have 4.5-year-old twin daughters who were born at 28 weeks. One of the girls (Penny) in particular has had a lot of physical challenges over her lifetime, including a trach that has left her a "holey baby." She is having surgery to close the hole in her neck this week. Both girls are miracle babies who have been through so much, but their parents have been rocks the entire time, and they continue to give God the glory every day for how far these little girls have come! 🙂 When my husband and I had preemie twins at 29 weeks, they were SUCH encouragers to us, and we just love them and are so thankful for their friendship! Plus, you would have a BLAST spending the day shopping with Bethany! She is the greatest!! 🙂
