Happy Wednesday, Everybody! It’s time for us to join up today with Shay and Mel and let everybody know WHAT’S UP with us this fine Wednesday!
*What we are eating this week.*
I’ve got the necessary ingredients for 3 meals at home this week, and that’s all I can muster. What’s on the menu? Burgers and tator tots (gosh I love the crispy crowns, do y’all eat those?), steak fajitas, and breakfast for dinner.
*What I’m reminiscing about.*
There’s been a lot going on around here, but a highlight for us actually happened a couple of weeks ago when we headed to the OU/TCU game at Cowboy Stadium. Carter is ALL ABOUT OU football right now, and watching games with him is SO MUCH FUN. We had the best time and are hoping our Sooners get a chance to play in the game for the National title!
*What I’m loving.*
So y’all know I wasn’t sure about the mule trend, and I was one of the last bloggers to hop on the train, but now I’m ALL IN. As part of my Brand Ambassadorship with Sole Society, I’m going to be showing you a couple of new items each month for the next few months, and THIS MONTH I’M ALL ABOUT THESE MULES! As I said in a previous post, these are the least mule-ish mules I’ve ever seen, and I love them!
This week I haven’t actually had a reason to get dressed, but I did some outfit planning with the mules. You’ll see me in these outfits next week after it stops raining, and after I wash my hair. 😉
You can’t go wrong with stripes, leopard print, and a cardi.

And I thought the mules were a nice change from the tall boots I would typically reach for with this outfit.

Thank you to Sole Society for sponsoring this portion of the post!
*What we’ve been up to.*
Our friends and neighbors had Santa Clause come to their house! Carter asked for 2 soccer jerseys, Uno Attack, and anything else Santa thought a boy his age might like. 😉
Earlier this week, some friends and I met over at Manda’s mom’s house (not everybody in our group could make it, but we all wanted to show support). Manda’s sweet family is of course having a hard time this Christmas season, and we just wanted her mama to know that we miss Manda too. We love you, Cindy!
*What I’m doing this weekend.*
We are soaking in Christmas! We plan on seeing the lights and seeing some movies!
*What I’m excited about.*
I mentioned this SALE ALERT to you on Monday, and today I’m excited that these jeans are STILL ON SALE!
Here’s what I love most about them. I truly feel like they make me look 2 inches taller and 10 pounds thinner. Um, YES PLEASE. I really wanted to show off the jeans, so I just paired him here with a simple white tee and lots of gold jewelry. It’s a classic look that I love. (I am wearing a nude cami with this tee. The white tee is the only one I think requires a cami.)

And here’s a close up…I’m wearing a 4 Regular in the jeans. I’m almost 5’4″ and am wearing these booties.
*What I’m watching.*
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills started last night. #notevenashamed #thoseladiesarecrazy #andiloveit
*What I’m listening to.*
Christmas music!!!
*What I’m working on.*
I have a collaboration coming up next week with Victoria Emerson jewelry! They have a lot of great wrap bracelets and boho cuffs at AMAZING prices, so I’m excited to share them with you! UPDATE: I just saw that today they have 40% OFF EVERYTHING with the code GIFT40!!!
*What I’m wearing.*

It’s been raining around here, so I got to break out my Hunter boots! This cardi is STILL ON SALE, and since I loved it so much in the grey, I bought it in the black to after it got marked down to UNDER $30. I tried on both colors with this outfit so you could see both side by side. I ended up wearing the black that day.
Okay, y’all. I’m going to sing the praises of this “like buttah” tee again with two words: STUPID. SOFT. And you’ll notice if you are clicking around on the Nordstrom site today, there are TONS of items with the caption “Get It By Christmas Eve” written in red. The “like buttah” tee is one of them. And they will do so with FREE STANDARD SHIPPING. WELL PLAYED, NORDSTROM. WELL PLAYED. Other items might not be able to ship that fast, but you might be able to find them at a local store.

*What’s the best gift you’ve ever given to your guy?*
If you are a regular follower of my blog, you know that every year I sing the praises of Bose speakers (find this year’s fun small version HERE), Northface Jackets, and Patagonia pullovers. This year he’s getting floor mats for his Suburban. It’s not flashy, but it’s what he wants! I can’t wait to read all of your ideas! I would love to be able to run out to a store and really surprise him with something! Just FYI: I ordered my father in law these babies this morning and will be picking them up at Stonebriar (because the size and the color I needed weren’t available for Christmas Eve delivery). So, if the item you need isn’t available by Christmas Eve, make sure you check and see if a store close by has it in stock for in store pick up!
Now don’t forget to link up!

Carter’s enthusiasm for OU football has been a favorite of mine this year! He’s so darn cute!!
Erika Slaughter says
I like Carter’s way of thinking-YOU’RE the one making toys all day, Santa! What would I like? Haha!
KimW says
Oh so many thoughts I have! 1. That might be the best Santa I have ever seen in that picture with Carter! He looks like the real deal! 2. So very thoughtful of you all to think of Manda’s mom and I bet your visit meant the world to her. 3. So many cute outfits – I love that burgundy long cardigan! Also you might have just convinced me to purchase that Nordstrom sweater!

Hey, Sheaffer! I don’t think I’ve ever commented although I’ve been enjoying your blog and letting you do lots of my shopping for a couple of years! 🙂 I did find a fun gift for my husband, dad and brother-in-law this year that I thought I’d pass on. It’s just a little token, kind of a stocking stuffer but I’m always excited for a find! These lights:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N41QKTI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I actually got mine at our local UPS store (random!) but found them on Amazon the other day to show to a friend. My son has a light that looks similar by his bed that he uses for a nightlight…it’s great but really dim. And I thought that’s what these were until the sweet older man at the store saw me looking and flipped one on for me. They’re awesome! They’re really seriously bright, battery operated lights and you can stick them anywhere you might need a little extra light at the flip of a switch: corner of the attic, tool box in a truck, etc.
Hope that’s helpful! For what it’s worth…one reason that feels like a major win for me…I’m getting my mother-in-law a dust mop so there you go! 🙂 (It was on her list at least!) Have a wonderful Christmas!

Great tip, Katie! Thank you!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I love that picture of Carter with Santa Claus! So cute!!! Xo

I laughed at your Real Housewives comment. I’ve only ever watched the OC version but after getting behind by about 4 episodes I recently deleted them from my DVR and said I’m done with Real Housewives. I feel like a real grown-up now, at the ever-young age of 36, ha! Don’t worry though, I’m still a diehard Bachelor watcher.
Amanda says
The Santa pics are great! I am over the moon that you posted that Madewell shirt.
I have been on the fence for months about buying it but finally pulled the trigger today. Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!!
Lisa says
Did you hem your Wit & Wisdom jeans? I’m 5’4″ as well but I have short legs and feel like they’re still a bit long, even with heels. Thoughts?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lisa! I didn’t hem them! For my height, I guess my legs are pretty long for my frame…maybe that’s the difference?!? xoxo, Sheaffer

HI Sheaffer! I just came across this song today that I talks about feelings of loss at Christmas time. (Just FYI you might cry). It’s called “The Sweetest Gift” by the Piano Guys ft. Craig Aven Here is the link:https://www.facebook.com/ThePianoGuys/videos/1661433363879106/
Sheaffer says
Oh, Lindsey. Thank you so much for directing me to this song. I’m going to share it on Friday’s blog post, but I’m also going to share it with Cindy (Manda’s sweet mom) today. I know it’s what her heart needs right now. Thank you so so much. xoxo, Sheaffer

I bought the Wit and Wisdom jeans and they were delivered yesterday (12-21). They were the softest jeans I have ever put on. Unfortunately, there was weird bunching/wrinkling in the inner thigh area that I just couldn’t live with. I’m going to return the jeans. It makes me sad because they were so comfortable.
