To go along with the giveaway, Nordstrom asked me to talk about a casual outfit for the holiday season. Well, I had the perfect outfit to share! The main piece is my MY VERY FIRST CASHMERE SWEATER! And y’all, I finally get what all of the fuss is about! It’s incredibly soft! I can’t believe that it’s taken me 32 years (WHAT?) 🙂 to own cashmere. And get this. It’s NOW ON SALE.
The sweater comes in 16 colors (in regular and petite), and the color I’m wearing is Red Barbarry. I also love the light blue, teal green, and camel. I’m wearing my favorite infinity scarf (so cheery!) and my slim profile UGG boots. It’s finally cooled down in my neck of the woods enough for me to wear some of my favorite fall and winter items. #finally For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the sweater (which is true to size, and I still have a some room) and the UGGs are true to size.
Here’s just some of the available colors. And as you’ll see, the sweater not only comes in a crew neck. It also comes in both v-neck (I LOVE the Kelly green) and tunic length! Just click on what you are interested in!
When reading the small number of reviews about the sweater, I saw that pilling was mentioned by 1 reviewer. I’ve only worn mine once….and no pilling yet…but I threw THIS in my shopping cart just in case! Even if I don’t end up needing it with this sweater, I know I have others I can use it on.
I had Chris pop out and grab some pics right before I headed out to meet some friends for an early dinner. It was super windy, which is why my head is cut off in this pic. My hair was WHACK (even though it was in a ponytail), but I still wanted y’all to see the outfit!
I was wearing my 2 favorite bracelets. They are great on their own and great for stacking. And they make awesome presents for 2 reasons: 1) you don’t need to know the recipient’s size, and 2) the person who gets one of these bracelets will most likely find themselves reaching for it at least 3 times a week. That makes for a great present!
And you can click HERE for my slim profile UGG boots I got last year! The slimmer silhouette and the tiny little wedge make them so much more feminine.
The outfit is simple, but fun! I ended up throwing on my olive green $37.90 pea coat (also comes in black, wine, and camel) on top and it was so cute! Remember, size up 2 full sizes in this coat. SERIOUSLY. Two full sizes, I have a large. This coat is DARLING and an incredible value.

Before you go, I have a re-stock alert for you! Both the tunic and the necklace in the below picture are BACK IN STOCK! And as of last night, the navy tunic was available in all sizes! And I just realized that the tunic is ON SALE! And the MUST HAVE leggings are ON SALE too! Oh.. THIS tunic is on sale too, because I know the one highlighted is going to fly off the shelf!
The tunic isn’t cheap, but it’s definitely a special piece. And I’m willing to pay extra for special. It’s dry clean only, so don’t bother with it if you aren’t willing to head to the cleaners with it. This is not a piece that I would risk laundering on my own.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small, which is true to size for me. It’s very loose and flowy, and it’s long enough for leggings (depending on your height, of course)! TOTAL SCORE! If you are just planning on wearing it with jeans, you could probably get away with sizing down 1 size if you don’t want it quite so loose. Also, I’m not wearing a cami in the picture below, but I will in the future just so I won’t have to worry about if the v-neck is getting too low throughout the day.
If you want to see it with my grey jeans and regular old blue jeans, click HERE. My favorite look was with the leggings…..although the grey jeans and over the knee suede boots were a close 2nd.
