I of course always love Shay, but today she is doing Shopping with Sheaffer and Shay HERE,
so that means I love her just a little bit more today.
I know she’s highlighting lots of goodness, she always does.
My Shopping With Sheaffer and Shay post will go up next Friday, so stay tuned for that.
In addition to Shay, I also LOVE Liz.
I just wanted to share a couple stories with you that reinforce the “must have” status you’ve given some of your finds.
1) The Vigoss jeans.
I changed into them one evening after work. It wasn’t a “date night”–just normal supper and hanging out around the house, so in no way did my husband feel obligated to compliment me. As background, my husband is fashion oblivious–if pressed, he would definitely say I have good style & always look nice–but I seriously doubt he could give any details about any of my outfits. Well, he took one look at me in my distressed, cuffed Vigoss jeans and said “Wow, I can’t believe how hot you are, those jeans are incredible–I am one lucky man!”
1) HERE, 2) HERE, 3) HERE, 4) HERE, 5) HERE
(Can you tell I’m still having fun making graphics? Cause I totally am.)
Okay, back to Erin’s e-mail.
2) The putty colored wedges.
I go to a really high end hair salon–one that I can afford but barely! I need to budget for it–but it is well worth it as they give me highlights so natural that no one thinks I have my hair colored! The waiting area serves an assortment of scones on bone china, enough said. The last time I went, I wore my wedges and the number of compliments I received bordered on embarrassing.
The staff all complimented me–but that could be part of their impeccable customer service (along with the scones). The real proof was in my fellow customers–people were so impressed they were actually going onto Nordstrom’s site from their iPhones! And these wedges are ridiculously comfortable–there is no excuse to not put them in heavy rotation….
A sexy shoe that is practical is HUGE!
I made that graphic too.
Did you hear that ladies?
OBLIVIOUS HUSBANDS AND LADIES WHO GET THEIR HAIR DONE WHERE THEY SERVE SCONES ON CHINA both like the MUST HAVES.
I’m thinking those are some pretty glowing endorsements!
So, for those of you that haven’t tried the Vigoss jeans,
I’m just wondering what in the heck you are waiting for?!?
You HAVE to give the Vigoss jeans a try.
If they don’t work for you, just take them or send them back! Nordstrom makes it sooo easy!
But I’m telling you, you need to TRY THESE JEANS.
Do it now.
(Scroll back up to the jeans graphic for links.)
And then send me a handwritten thank you note.
And the wedges?
My goodness, I’ve been talking about them since like April. Maybe even March.
However, every time I think I’m done talking about them, I get an e-mail like I did from Liz.
And then I feel some sort of weird pressure that I’m not appropriately fulfilling my purpose if I don’t make sure that every single living and breathing being knows about these glorious wedges.
Please don’t e-mail me that I’m weird.
I’m fully aware.
Still, I feel like I need to tell you one more time.
GET. THESE. WEDGES.
I promise that they are crazy cute (way cuter in person than in pictures).
And I promise that they are comfortable (the most comfortable pair of shoes in my closet, with the exception of my houseshoes.) No lie.
Remember, they don’t come in 1/2 sizes. If you are a 1/2 size, order a size up.
I asked one of my shoe guys at Nordstrom if they were going to go on sale, and he said he was almost sure that the putty and the black wouldn’t. I find that hard to believe, but I would hate for you to be holding out for a sale, and for it not to happen. I can guarantee you that I will be wearing these shoes for years to come, and you don’t want to be kicking yourself next year when they are possibly no longer available.
And since I now love Liz (and totally trust her judgment since it seems to be so in line with mine!), I want to share another part of her e-mail with you.
After telling me about her hubby’s compliment of how she looked in the jeans, she said this:
The last time he was so spontaneously and specifically
effusive was the first time I wore my Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer, he
went on and on about the incredible glow I had–so now that is for me a
make up “must have”.

Out of the 22 reviews, 20 are 5 STAR!
People seem to agree with Liz about this stuff.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for presenting all these great choices that are affordable, flattering and practical! I cannot even begin to fathom how much work this blog must be for you!
Have a great day!!!!
See why I love Liz?
She agrees with me (which I of course always love) ;), and then she shared with me
one of her MUST HAVES!
Liz and I are besties now.
Okay, enough Liz love.
Time to move on to some other things I’m loving.
Did you know that sweatshirts are cool now?
Because they are.
I found 3 in the Junior’s department at Nordstrom that I love.
I’m also loving my new camo print t-shirt from GAP. I wore it earlier this week with some fancy jewelry and my cuffed jeans for a kind of edgy look (edgy for me anyway).
I loved it!
My Gap shirt is sold out. Boo! But there is a camo print thermal t from Free People HERE.
Great short V-neck option from Target HERE.
And I haven’t seen this in person, but THIS Target camo jacket intrigues me.
Looks like it could be fabulous?!?

In the picture on the right, I added THIS jacket.
I was wearing a small in the picture, but I think an x-small would have been a cuter fit.
The small was just too boxy on me.
And just for grins, I thought I would highlight (YET AGAIN) how I wore my black must have shirt with my cuffed jeans and my wedges. This time I wore a sparkly statement necklace instead of a pendant necklace or scarf. The necklace is from LOFT last season, and I was unable to find a similar one to link to. Sorry!
And in response to a couple of reader questions I’ve received over the past couple of weeks, I have a handful of faux leather jackets that I want to show you.
Leather is HUGE this year, but although a lot of you want to participate in the trend, you don’t want to shell out a lot of money for a real leather jacket.
I have a couple of great FAUX options for you.
black faux leather jacket HERE
And I didn’t see THIS one by the same maker, but I’m definitely interested in it!
Love the color and the cute peplum finish!
And check out this wine colored faux leather jacket HERE.
I was totally obsessed with the color of this jacket, and I loved all of the details!
It has great reviews, but they all agree that it runs quite small, so make sure you keep that in mind!
And I haven’t seen THIS one from Sam Edelman in person, but I think it looks great!
I wear jeans ALL THE TIME, so that’s what I’m posting all the time.
I don’t wear things that are very dressy, but I know many of you ladies do! So, I’m on the hunt for some great business casual pieces! It’s my mission!
This dress would be total greatness with tights and boots!
*This cardigan is on sale and then another 40% off right now!
I didn’t think I was going to like this shirt on me because of the pleated pockets. But I totally did!
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these black pants. Seriously. LOVE.
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but the LOFT has re-engineered their pants.
I know that sounds weird, but click HERE to read all about it.
The MARISA pant fit is my PERFECT fit.
